    Northam is a small market town lying just north of the historic port town of Bideford and less than 2 miles south of Westward Ho! which offers an array of seaside amenities including free public tennis courts, some fascinating curiosity shops and a range of restaurants and cafes, many of which are regularly visited by locals for their quality fayre. The beaches are a main attraction of this area for many, and the Southwest Coastal Path also runs through Westward Ho! This is a must for keen walkers, runners, and view seekers! Paddling, surfing, canoeing, entertainment for all the family and fishing are all close by too.     After an action-packed day exploring Devon and Cornwall, head into the cosy open plan kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer with a water dispenser and an oil-powered Aga (which is available to use between November to March). The island counter with two stools, granite worktops and bi-fold doors opening out into the garden are a beautiful feature. There are many interesting walks across the land and along the river nearby, and in the autumn, it is possible to help with the annual apple harvest and cider production. This part of Devon is an excellent touring base with easy access to lots of places of interest.
