The bright lights of Blackpool are just 4 miles away and can be reached on foot following the promenade along the seafront. Here you’ll find its many attractions including, Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. Just a few miles further will take you to the rolling sand dunes of Lytham St Anne’s and the cosmopolitan Lytham which holds annual events such as The Proms and a kite festival. Venture inland and you’ll find the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known for its picturesque country villages, wonderful walking and friendly local pubs. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is also within easy reach as is the Lake District National Park.

With stunning scenery and lots of charming country pubs, the Ribble Valley is perfect for walkers and cyclists. The Forest of Bowland, which is one of the UK’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covers over 300 square miles of rural Lancashire, and North Yorkshire is right on the doorstep. Other popular walks include Pendle Hill and the Tolkien Trail. The Forest of Gisburn is just 12 miles away. Other popular activities nearby include golf, fishing and swimming.

This charming 17th century mid terraced cottage can be found perfectly positioned a stone’s throw from the centre of thriving Padiham. Upon arrival you’ll find the cottage is homely and inviting with beautiful wisteria set above the front door, which once you step through you won’t be disappointed. Padiham is a picturesque town on the edge of the Ribble Valley, with the River Calder weaving through it.

It’s also home to the National Trusts Gawthorpe Hall, which is a superb Jacobean historic house nestled in the shadow of Pendle Hill. Walkers are well catered for in the area with an abundance of routes for all abilities available in the surrounding countryside, including to the top of the afore mentioned Pendle Hill. Here the views stretch out right across the Ribble Valley, and you can even see the Yorkshire Peaks and Fylde Coast out in the distance on a clear day.
Cycling enthusiasts will love the winding country lanes and secure bike storage is available at the cottage. Nearby the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty can be reached in around 20 minutes and the Yorkshire Dales National Park in around half an hour. Swapping the countryside for coast Blackpool and Lytham St Anne can be reached in under an hour as can the bright lights of the city of Manchester.

The vast beach is made up of sand and shingle, and you’ll find traditional past times of sandcastle building, and kite flying are as popular as ever. A few miles inland is the neighbouring village of Thornton, where you’ll find more shops, pubs and restaurants together with an 18th Century windmill and Wyre Estuary Country Park. The bright lights of Blackpool, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower are just 4 miles round the coast, and a few miles further you’ll reach the beautiful sandy beaches of St Annes and, wonderfully cosmopolitan, Lytham. It’s remote and secretive split of land allows the chance for nature to thrive, and thus, is a perfect spot for bird watching. The popular seaside resort of Morecambe hosts many attractions from picking up the freshly caught shrimp at the daily farmers market to afternoon tea’s on the seafront, there is lots to offer. There is an abundance of fun to be had for the family including bowling, cinema and arcade centres or why not try out the quirky cafés, pubs and cocktail bars along the sea front?
The property is just a 5-minute drive from the M6 motorway making it easily accessible to the south Lake District National Park and North Yorkshire. For golfers, Heysham Golf Club is just 2 miles away, and there are also courses at Morecambe, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale and Silverdale. Beach 3 miles.
