The traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth still provides all the fun of the fair, with its traditional amusements. It also has a Pleasure Beach, which offers thrill rides galore and a wide sandy beach so you can see why this town remains a top tourist attraction. As does Pleasurewood Hills, a theme park that lies just along the coast and offers a wide range of attractions. Thrigby Wildlife Park offers animal lovers, young and mature alike, the chance to see exotic animals up close which includes a tree walk where you can look right down in to the tiger enclosure. Africa Alive offers animal encounters too, and the meercat enclosure is not to be missed. Beach lovers will enjoy Scratby Beach, a beautiful, quiet shingle and sand beach set at the base of low sand cliffs. It is dog friendly and perfect for a bracing walk whatever the time of year. With Winterton-on-Sea, Hemsby, Caister, Gorleston and California Sands all offering beautiful beaches too, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The area offers access to the Norfolk Broads, where you can join an organised tour or charter your own boat, perfect for messing about on the water. Great Wildlife is to be found on the Broads, and birdwatchers will find a visit to Rollesby Broad a must. The medieval city of Norwich is close by and offers a stunning Norman castle to explore along with numerous museums, cinemas, theatres and great places to shop and eat.

Located in the village of Sculthorpe, this lovely holiday propery is close to the popular resort of Wells-next-the-Sea. The location is an excellent base from which to explore the area, and the peaceful and sought after village of Sculthorpe lies just 9 miles from the popular seaside resort of Wells-next-the-Sea with its pretty quay, mix of artisan and traditional seaside shops and narrow gauge railway to carry you to the beach. For thrills and spills, head to the traditional seaside town of Hunstanton, with its wide sandy beach, fun fair, amusements and Sea Life Centre. Also close by is Blakeney Quay, with its trips to see the seals, Holkham beach with the famous Holkham Hall and beautiful beach, Brancaster beach and the bustling market town Burnham Market, with its mix of eateries and boutique shops. The town of Fakenham offers good shops, restaurants, cafés, golf, a racecourse, a cinema and a bowling alley.
A little further afield are the seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer, the market town of Holt and the city of Norwich, with its famous Norman castle, numerous museums and all the facilities that you would expect from a fine city. Also worth exploring are the Norfolk Broads where you can enjoy boat trips. There are stately homes and National Trust properties galore, beautiful nature reserves and birdwatching opportunities, as well as pleasant walks and cycling routes – you can see why this area is so very popular. This cosy wing of a property is within easy walking distance of the centre of the attractive small Georgian town of Holt. The beautiful North Norfolk Coast is only five miles away, with miles of glorious beaches and Holt Country Park is only half a mile. Both offer lovely walking and good bird watching. For those keen to explore the area by bike, cycle hire is available. There are many places of interest and things to do in the local area, and the fine city of Norwich is only 20 miles away, offering opportunities for sightseeing and great shopping. Many attractions can be found within a 25-mile radius, including Blickling Hall, Holkham Hall, Wells Harbour and the beautiful beaches and pier at Cromer. Shops and pub 0.25 miles.

The village of Bacton offers excellent walks, pub with restaurants, fish and chip shop, café and an ice cream parlour. Bacton Woods is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic and it has great dog walking trails. The village is very dog friendly, and dogs are permitted on the beach, restricted in certain areas during the busy summer months. The traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 12 miles, and Sheringham, 19 miles, for fun at the seaside, or Wroxham, 12 miles, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads National Park, where you can hire a day launch or join a cruise and watch the world drift by. Perfect for families is BeWILDerwood at Horning, an outdoor adventure park. Another firm favourite is the Dinosaur Park at Lenwade, offering both outside and inside fun, including a splash park for warmer days.

Avid gardeners can make a visit to The Old Vicarage Gardens at East Runton to enjoy the extensive gardens, its tearoom with tasty cakes and the Sheringham National Trust Park. Other National Trust properties including Felbrigg and Blickling Halls, ideal for lovers of history. The Royal Cromer and Mundesley golf courses will not disappoint golfing enthusiasts. Why not enjoy the chance to spot hundreds of grey seals and pups along the shore at Horsey beach, between December and February. The city of Norwich is 20 miles away and offers two excellent indoor shopping malls, market square, theatre, cinema complexes, castle museum, cathedral, cafés, restaurants and pub. If you can tear yourself away from the beach you will find a string of other coastal habitats to explore including marshes, sand dunes and pretty quays.
Head west to Cromer and discover the unspoilt Edwardian seafront, promenade and pier, or venture a little further and take a boat trip to see the seals (seasonal) or enjoy a spot of crabbing on Blakeney Quay. Head east and you’ll discover Great Yarmouth’s Golden Mile and all the fun of the fair and just a little further, Pleasurewood Hills, Norfolk’s only theme park.
Enjoy a ride on the Bure Valley Railway from Wroxham and travel through the pretty Norfolk countryside to the bustling market town of Aylsham for a spot of shopping or lunch. With other attractions such as the tranquil Hickling Broad, Amazonia Zoo, BeWILDerwood, Dinosaur Park at Lenwade, North Norfolk Railway and the medieval city of Norwich all within easy reach you really will be spoilt for choice.
