Eldin Hall Cottages are set in a peaceful area and have been added more recently to the restored old Victorian waterworks. The four cottages have their own enclosed decked patios with garden furniture, and The Gatehouse has its own enclosed private lawned garden. There is also a shared garden with a fantastic play area for the children. The owners, who just 10 minutes away, will be there to greet guests whenever possible, and are available any time to provide information and assistance when it is required.
Situated between Cayton and Cayton Bay, the cottages are an ideal base to visit the east coast, North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. The beach at Cayton Bay is less than a mile away (2 miles by road) and just a little further up the coast is the popular seaside town of Scarborough. The resorts of Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are just a short drive away. The walks along the clifftops are spectacular and form part of the Cleveland Way walk. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs attracts visitors from worldwide and is just a short drive from the cottages. Here you can see puffins, kittiwakes and lots of other migrating seabirds. Not to be missed during your stay (as it’s always voted as one of the top ten cities to visit) is the wonderful city of York which is less than an hour away by car, or the train is direct from Scarborough. The beautiful hamlet of Beckermonds is positioned in the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This detached holiday cottage makes an ideal retreat from everyday life, being one of only five dwellings in this secluded location. Beckermonds, from the ‘Old Norse’, means the ‘meeting of the streams’. It is here, at the confluence of Oughtershaw and Greenfield becks, that the River Wharfe starts its journey through Langstrothdale, into Upper Wharfedale and then continues to define one of the most celebrated dales. Right outside the door are memorable walking opportunities set amid breath-taking scenery, as well as private fly fishing nearby (trout, free of charge, Mar-Sep). The private, enclosed, dog friendly, west facing garden is a glorious sun trap on summer evenings, from where you can expect to see rare red squirrels and a variety of wildlife.
Contained within a 5-mile easy walking radius, you will find three quintessential dales pubs. Why not visit them together in an 11-mile circuit walk? The market town of Hawes is only 7 miles away and offers shops, pubs, restaurants, tea rooms, banks and a chemist, as well as a traditional British fish and chip restaurant. Hawes is also the home to the famous Hawes Creamery, makers of Wallace and Gromits favourite Wensleydale cheese. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Beech Cottage is perfectly situated in the peaceful hamlet of Carlton-in-Coverdale, and is a super destination for guests wanting to explore the magnificent countryside of the local area. Beech Cottage is located inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and in the valley of Wensleydale. The cottage is a great spot for guests who enjoy walking, cycling, rambling, hill running or just exploring the incredible unspoilt scenery throughout this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are many established public footpaths to enjoy which lead directly through Carlton-in-Coverdale and carry on through many local villages including West Scrafton, Horseshoe and Gammersgill to name only a few. The village Pub, ‘The Forester’s Arms’, has an excellent reputation, and there are also numerous pubs that provide a handy stop off during a day’s walk. A little further afield, but still only four miles away, guests will be able to visit the historic village of Middleham. Once the home of Richard III, Middleham is steeped in history and has some great attractions to visit. Nestled between two rivers, the magnificent castle of Middleham has the largest castle keep in the north of England and a Royal heritage that once earned it the title of the Windsor of the North. Horse racing fans really must take a trip too as the village is famous for its rich horse racing history and is home to many of the top stables in the country. The market town of Leyburn is also just five miles away and offers guests the chance to browse around the weekly farmers market offering local produce and arts and crafts. There are plenty also plenty of tea shops, restaurants and cafes, so make sure you plan a whole day in Leyburn. Perfect for families of all ages guests will surely want to visit the Chocolate Museum in Leyburn and also the fun attraction of The Forbidden Corner which is only a short drive away. A little further afield, but still within an easy hours drive, guests will be able to take a day trip to York, Ripon, Harrogate, Richmond or the cathedral city of Durham.

Beech Cottage is warm and welcoming and offers comfortable accommodation throughout. The lounge is small and cosy and has an open fire and original features. There is a separate dining room and kitchen with good quality fixtures and fittings. On the first floor guests will find a single bedroom, double bedroom and twin bedroom which all offer great views and are very well presented throughout. The family bathroom is on the first floor and offers a shower over bath and heated towel rail. The WC is separate to the bathroom. There are gardens to the front and rear of the property and guests can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the location whilst listening to the nearby stream that runs to the rear and side of the cottage.

Tucked away in the peaceful village of Middleton this little cottage dates back to the 1750’s, where it was once a tiny farmhouse with its own small allotment that they used for animals and crops. This quaint hideaway still retains many of its original charm, with beamed ceilings and lots of character. With the benefit of your own designated off-road parking bay. Please note that the drive is narrow and may not be suitable for large vehicles. A footpath follows you through the courtyard with a table for two. There is also a bike shed with suitable storage adjacent to the parking area with a seating area too.

Stepping inside you will find the adorable country kitchen, which is compact yet has everything required to create delicious home-made meals to delight your loved one. The kitchen is open plan with the dining area, with a table perfect for two. The living is separate, with a sofa and armchair around the small but mighty “hobbit” stove, that ensures you are snug and toasty after a busy day exploring. Wooden stairs lead you up from the living room to the first floor landing, where you have a beautifully presented kingsize bedroom, with a large wardrobe for all of your belongings.

This is the ideal destination for those who love the great outdoors, with incredible scenic views in the National Park to soak up. There are wonderful woodland walks through Dalby forest nearby, as well as many scenic bays along the coast only a 40 minutes’ drive away. Middleton itself is a small village just on the edge of the market town of Pickering. In Middleton you have a popular pub serving hearty meals, as well as a small tearoom and a local shop. Neighbouring Pickering has a medieval castle as well as a steam train which winds its way from Pickering over the rolling heather, through valleys and hill all the way to Whitby on the coast.

The North York Moors is a haven for walkers with many trails to explore and an abundance of wildlife. Nearby you have Malton, the food capital of Yorkshire, with a market, award-winning restaurants, and a cookery school. Castle Howard is one of Britain’s finest stately homes, sure to fill you with awe. There are also the beaches of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington, with historical Whitby and whimsical Robin Hoods Bay all ideal for a day out to treasure. Tucked away in the peaceful village of Felixkirk, this cosy, dog-friendly holiday cottage adjoins the owner’s home and provides a very comfortable rural retreat on the very edge of the North York Moors National Park, near Thirsk. This brick-built, single-storey cottage is a hidden gem offering a very private stay whilst enjoying an enviable position near to the award-winning, dog-friendly pub and is 5 minutes by car from the nearby market town of Thirsk. It has been completely renovated internally in December 2019 and externally over the summer of 2020.
The cottage offers beautifully presented accommodation for two guests and their pets. There is a small double bedroom with under-bed storage. There is extensive garden space outside the cottage with stunning views, which is also fully fenced to allow your pets to wander in a contained area. Access to a larger field is also provided. Car parking for two cars is available next to the cottage, which is at the end of a private tarmac and gravelled driveway. There is also separate secure storage available for bicycles.
The owners are keen walkers, runners and cyclists and can advise of lovely local and regional routes and provide local dog-friendly walk guides for your use. From the doorstep, there are numerous footpaths and cycling trails and the renowned, traditional, dog-friendly village inn serves local produce just minutes from the cottage. The village is home to a 4x4 driving centre which offers action-packed days with off-road driver training and quad biking, and at Sutton Bank, visitors can take a trial lesson at the Yorkshire Gliding Club and visit the nearby famous White Horse near Kilburn. Thirsk, 3 miles away, is a quaint market town famous for its connections with James Herriot, the well-known vet and author of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. Thirsk is also home to a well-known racecourse and 15th century church.
Days out can be enjoyed at Rievaulx Abbey near the wonderful town of Helmsley, as well as Castle Howard and Fountains Abbey. Board the steam train at Pickering to be transported through the stunning North York Moors to the coastal port of Whitby and explore the fishing villages at Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes. The North Yorkshire Moors and also the Yorkshire Dales are easily accessible by car and the historic walled city of York is only 25 miles away, with its iconic minster, exquisite architecture, museums and art galleries, and is not to be missed when visiting Yorkshire. A little further to the south is the more elegant seaside town of Scarborough with an eclectic mix of shopping, museums, art galleries, some fine dining restaurants and the North and South Bays boasting fine sandy beaches, fun fairs, amusement arcades and donkey rides on the beach. The Heritage coast of Yorkshire is just a short drive away, with Whitby, 10 miles across the moors, home to art galleries, museums and an eclectic mix of shops. Boasting a colourful harbour leading to a three mile stretch of sandy beach all overlooked and almost protected by the beautiful abbey ruins and St Marys Church.
Historic homes, halls and castles surround this area, there’s Castle Howard and Duncomb Park which are both easily reached. The market towns of Malton, Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley all host weekly markets and are home to some fine eating houses, antique and curio shops and friendly locals waiting to greet you.

Ryndle Corner is a beautiful, detached house overlooking Peasholm Park, one of the finest locations in Scarborough and voted one of the best parks in the UK. The park has stunning gardens and wildlife, and lots of leisurely walks can be taken here. The park is also home to the world famous Naval Warfare, a unique miniature sea battle that is re-enacted. There are plenty of rowing boats and pedaloes that you can explore the lake on or if you prefer a more leisurely ride there’s the swan launch motor boat. During the summer season there are regular concerts in the park. The park also boasts an 18-hole mini golf course so there’s plenty to do right on your doorstep.
As well as Peasholm Park you are close to the cricket ground where the famous summer festival gives you the opportunity to see county cricket at its best. Ryndle Corner is a short stroll from the North Bay’s long sandy beach, which makes it a great location for a family holiday. Just down the hill is the Open Air Theatre, the largest open air amphitheatre in Europe where, during the summer season, you can enjoy concerts from world renowned artists. The Alpamare waterpark, offering water slides and a wave machine, is only a 10-minute stroll away. The location of Ryndle Corner means there really is something for everyone right on the doorstep!
The long wide sandy beach has won awards for cleanliness making it perfect for families. For the more adventurous, surfing lessons can be booked from the surf shop just down the hill. Scarborough boasts two beaches with a long, flat promenade where you can enjoy early evening strolls. The castle stands proud on the hillside separating the two bays. The South Bay is more vibrant with the amusements and shops, and the North Bay is the quieter, more peaceful area. For those of you who like evening entertainment, the Stephen Joseph Theatre is close by. Famous for the world premieres of almost all of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays, the theatre is well worth a visit. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants all within walking distance. Scarborough is a great base to see what the east coast has to offer.
Ryndle Corner is the perfect base for walkers too, being situated only a few miles from the famous North York Moors National Park, or you can walk part of the Cleveland Way along the rugged coast. Just a short drive and you can visit Whitby, Flamborough, Bridlington and the famous RSPB cliffs at Bempton where you can see the puffins and gannets in their natural habitat. The medieval city of York is only an hour away where you can visit the famous Minster or the railway museum.
The house is very large and spacious with seven bedrooms, two of which are en-suite, and the dining room has two tables to accommodate everyone.
