Originally built in 1825 as a ruin, this unique Grade II listed building has been sympathetically transformed into two lovely, detached gatehouses yet retaining all the visual appearances of a ruin. Built in stone from Filey Brigg, The Follies are set in 3/4 acres of natural grounds and visitors are welcome to wander through them, where there is an abundance of wildlife including, rabbits, owls and squirrels.

Centrally located for exploring the North Yorkshire coast, moors and wolds, the historic town of Filey is only 3 miles distant, with its wide sandy beach and all the attractions of a popular seaside resort. Scarborough and Bridlington are both easily accessible, as is the beautiful city of York. There is a 9-hole golf course locally, fishing available nearby, and an RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs providing interest for bird-watchers. This delightful, Grade II listed, former chapel, adjacent to the owners’ home, is steeped in history and is tucked away in a wonderful, rural location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. As such, it enjoys beautiful views over spectacular countryside. The cottage provides romantic holiday accommodation and offers a wonderful home from which to walk direct from the door, with links along the Dales Way between Grassington and Kettlewell. For those who like climbing, Kilnsey Crag is at hand, and offers some of the most challenging climbs in the area. Alternatively, Grassington is approximately 4 miles, and has a wide variety of country shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. In summer, you can enjoy Grassington Festival, which attracts well-known celebrities, and during winter it offers the Dickensian Festival. Shop 3 miles.

Set in a stunning rural position within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Fell Cottage is a traditional limestone conversion of a former farm building restored to provide a wonderful quaint holiday retreat. The cottage is situated in beautiful Raydale, a rural and unspoilt area of Wensleydale. It is surrounded by traditional farming country and ringed by high fells.
In the distance the dramatic peak of Addleborough can be seen and Lake Semerwater is a pleasant walk away. It is handy for many of the areas famous attractions, including the bustling little market town of Hawes and the pretty villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg, with its pub which was used as the local in the James Herriot series ’All Creatures Great and Small’.
Raydale is a haven for wildlife, with hares and deer often sighted in the surrounding fields at dawn and dusk, along with a wide variety of upland bird life including pheasant, partridge, curlew, duck and of course, Lake Semerwater stocked with a variety of fish. The hamlet of Marsett is set high in the hills above Bainbridge, providing far reaching panoramic views of the dales and fells beyond. Visit Ryedale Folk Museum and Rosedale Abbey, or for a day out, try the North York Moors Railway. Whitby has miles of sandy beaches and an ancient abbey overlooking its harbour. Nestled away and surrounded by fields and farmland, just outside the popular Yorkshire village of Middleham, Curlew Barn is the perfect destination for guests wanting to enjoy a quiet, romantic break. Only a mile and a half away from the famous horse racing town of Middleham, guests will find many excellent quality local pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance as well as cafes, tea rooms and a convenience store. Steeped in history, Middleham Castle was once the home of Richard III and its remains are a popular attraction for tourists. Also well known for its horse racing links, guests will be able to watch the world class racehorses being ridden through the centre of Middleham and out into ’the gallops’ at the edge of the village. The barn is also close to East Witton, a quiet village with two pubs and from which you can enjoy a pleasant, low level walk to Jervaulx Abbey.
