There is a large garage which makes a great storage room for water sports equipment, bikes, and anything else you may need it for. Straight opposite the property is Slate Hall Riding Centre, take advantage of a stroll along the golden sands with one of the horses or ponies on offer - what a wonderful way to end a holiday to remember at Bernicia House! Seahouses offers a wide array of tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops within walking distance. Boat trips run from the nearby harbour to the Farne Islands, famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies.

Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is home to thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers. The historic market town of Alnwick, with its own castle, offers many facilities, just a short drive inland. A 2 minute walk will take you to the small sandy bay speckled with rocky outcrops, leading to a long sandy beach that stretches to Seahouses, 2 miles north. The wide expanse of golden sandy beach, Beadnell Bay is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, including sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba. 2 miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly from its harbour. A further 3 miles up the coastline is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, with its majestic fortress. The John Martin Heritage Trail passes right by the door or visit the national Trust site of Allen Banks and Staward Gorge, a Victorian garden in a gorge of the River Allen cutting through beautiful woodland. For those seeking adventure, try wild water swimming on the River Allen, a 20-minute walk.
