The picture-postcard town of Rothbury sitting at the foot of the Simonside and Lordenshaw Hills, with Cragside Hall on its outskirts, is 9 miles away. Wooler is a welcoming market town 11 miles from the property, nestled at the foot of the Cheviot Hills and offering a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding countryside, its many challenging or less strenuous walks or trails close by and any stargazers will delight in the dark sky offerings on the doorstep. The Northumberland Heritage Coast is less than 15 miles east and there are no less than 10 castles to explore within 25 miles, with many Iron Age discoveries to be had very close to the property.
