This very unique village was created some 750 years ago by Henry III when he granted Lavenham ’market’ status, and today, regular farmers markets are held. Bury St Edmunds is 11 miles away and Colchester is 18 miles, which boasts many shops, bars and restaurants. Ipswich, with its harbour and marina, is 19 miles and offers a great day out with walking access into the town with its shops. For a more coastal scene, take a drive to the Suffolk coastline with its beautiful beaches and RSPB reserves. Visit the amazing beaches at the traditional seaside resorts of Aldeburgh, 41 miles, and Southwold, 51 miles.
