Keen fishermen will enjoy the coarse fishing lakes just 300 yards away.

There are ferry links from the harbour to St Anthony, Falmouth, Trelissick and Malpas. During the winter it is a quiet, peaceful village that rarely sees frosts or snow. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. Digley Reservoir and Holmfirth Vineyard are both around a 10-minute drive from the property and further afield you’ll find attractions for all interests within easy reach. These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

For days out for a beach trip, look no further than West Wittering’s famous sands (it gets very busy in summer!). A little further afield, Portsmouth is famous as the home of HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose. The historic dockyard sits right next to Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower, which offer spectacular views over Portsmouth and the Solent. Beach 13½ miles.
