As you enter the recently renovated Harbour Retreat, you find yourself in the downstairs hallway. The fully equipped kitchen is straight ahead and the open bright and airy living/dining area is to your right. The living/dining area leads out onto the pleasant enclosed rear garden via a sliding door, with decked area, hot tub and BBQ as well as part lawn with shrubs; a great area to sit out and enjoy the last of the sun after a long day at the beach! Upstairs is the family walk-in shower room and two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms benefits from a kingsize bed, the second bedroom is a double room but also has a pull out single bed, handy for if friends come to stay. The third bedroom contains bunk beds and is a great children’s room.
The property is situated just around the corner from Paignton Harbour where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to visit. There is also a beautiful small cove named ’fairy cove’ just a minutes walk towards the harbour and large park, and coastal walks at your very doorstep. Whether its spending a day locally or venturing slightly out to see what the beautiful English Riviera has to offer, Harbour retreat is a great place to start! Beach 5-minute walk.

Yellison, on the Broughton Hall Estate, is set along a single track road and commands spectacular views over the estate, Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales beyond. As you descend the gravel path which leads to this detached farmhouse you’ll feel right at home. On entering the house you’re greeted with a rustic dining room where your whole group will enjoy dining together and planning your next adventure. There are four comfortable and stylish bedrooms all with en-suite facilities, one which is on the ground floor, creating ideal accommodation for a larger group. Art adorns the walls and the downstairs separate toilet is decorated with OS Map wallpaper of the local area!

Next to Yellison are the Land Rover Experience offices from where experience days are offered (by direct arrangement with the owner) for an exhilarating drive along the land rover track and obstacles on the estate. The vast 3000-acre grounds are at your disposal, wander down through the estate and admire the imposing stately home of Broughton Hall itself, spot wildlife and birds as well as quaint bridges across the river.

The popular market town of Skipton is 3 miles away and offers a host of things to do for all ages. The Tour de France and the Tour de Yorkshire have both passed through Skipton and the surrounding countryside in recent years. Why not bring your bike and explore some of the routes for yourself? The area is peppered with gourmet pubs serving local produce as well as hearty, traditional pub food and there’s a plethora of restaurants and bars in Skipton to choose from should you wish to treat yourself and dine out during your stay. The owner has thoughtfully provided a complementary welcome pack including wine, milk and a selection of delicious homemade cakes.

These two lodges, each with a hot tub on the decking, offer differently-styled accommodation for groups of eight. Ideal for holidays or visiting the two large wedding venues nearby in Otterburn. Leafy Run (ref W44043) is a contemporary-style lodge with a hot tub and a peaceful decked area. Reiver’s Rest (ref UKC3402) was completely renovated in 2018, with a private hot tub on the raised south-facing decking and backs onto the woodland in the top corner of the park, with walks from the door. With a fully renovated restaurant on site, the lodges are less than a mile from the centre of the village of Otterburn, on the very edge of the Northumberland National Park. The park is just inside the Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park, the largest in Europe, ideal for stargazers and astronomers. The village has a mill shop, and the shop/café sells local produce. A highly acclaimed wedding venue, Le Petit Château is easily accessed only a mile away and guests can enjoy staying in the lodges and having some downtime after the wedding. The long wooded drive up to the park sets the scene for your break away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

A perfect base for couples or families to explore the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Forest, observatory, and the Scottish Borders. Situated 16 miles from the border counties, outdoor enthusiasts will love this location which is a favourite with walkers and adventure seekers. Bellingham is close by and has a choice of tea rooms, pubs, and village shops. A day trip to Alnwick, with its famous castle, and the Northumberland Heritage Coast, which is peppered with castles and beaches, make for fine days out. Hadrian’s Wall is only a few miles away and is steeped in history, with Roman forts and museums along the way. Hexham and Rothbury are easily accessible and have plenty of pubs and shops. South Pusehill Cottage is a very well-presented holiday property with character features such as exposed beams and bespoke furniture and design. Although slightly rural with far reaching countryside views, the cottage is perfectly located for all the attractions and stunning scenery that North Devon has to offer, and is around 1½ miles away from the nearest beach at Westward Ho!, which is popular with surfers as well as sunbathers.
Westward Ho! offers an array of seaside amenities including some fascinating curiosity shops and a good range of restaurants and cafés, many of which are regularly visited by locals for their quality fayre. The beaches are a main attraction of this area for many, and the South West Coast Path also runs through the area. This is a must for keen runners and walkers! Swimming, surfing, canoeing, entertainment for all the family and fishing are all close by too. If golf is your thing, then you should visit the Royal North Devon Club which is nearby, it was founded in 1864 and is the oldest golf course in England!
The popular Tarka Trail can be accessed locally too, providing the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line by foot or by cycle allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery while discovering the towns of Barnstaple and Bideford, where you can wander during the weekly pannier markets, with a host of local produce, quality cafés and crafts on offer. On your Tarka Trail journey be sure to visit the Fremington Quay Café for a tasty bite to eat and then the estuary-side village of Instow – where sunsets are a local treasure! And one place not to forget to visit is the world-famous village of Clovelly with its steep pedestrianised cobbled main street, traditional architecture, donkeys and views over the Bristol Channel. Be sure not to forget to visit Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’ and for a day with a difference take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna.
