The many attractions of this area include a narrow gauge steam railway, which winds its way from historic Caernarfon into the heart of the Snowdonia Mountains, and a small airfield for pleasure flights over the area. Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle, is within easy reach and also offers a fine selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with golf, bike hire and sailing. Beach 4½ miles. Set in a rural location in the village of Llangwnadl on the picturesque Llyn Peninsula, this detached holiday property is just 1½ miles from the nearest sandy beach and is set in large lawned gardens. With plenty of footpaths locally, there is much to explore including the beautiful coastline and the pretty village of Aberdaron. The National Trust’s Plas yn Rhiw is a short drive away, and the property is equidistant from Pwllheli, with its weekly market, and Abersoch. Also worth a visit is Criccieth with its historic castle. The spectacular mountain scenery of the Snowdonia National Park is also easily accessible. Shop and pub 3 miles, restaurant 7 miles.

Take a trip on a steam train on the narrow gauge railway along the lake shore between Bala and Llanuwchllyn, have a day at the beach over on the coast at Barmouth, or try some Welsh foodie delights at the award-winning Rhug Estate Organic Farm Shop at Corwen. Further afield in Blaenau Ffestiniog is the incredible Bounce Below where the whole family can try bouncing on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern, and Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world where you can fly high over the quarries whilst enjoying the spectacular view as you try not to scream!
