The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 312 square miles, and once more provides the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with peaceful, remote walking and cycling available. The Lake District National Park can be reached in around an hour, or for those wanting to swap the countryside for the coast, the seaside resorts of Blackpool and Lytham St Annes are around a 45-minute drive.
