These two beautiful shepherds huts enjoy an elevated position in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From the moment you drive through the electric gates towards Oakenclough House you won’t be disappointed. Surrounded by approximately 25 acres of land, these they offer the perfect opportunity to experience countryside living and a quieter pace of life.
Newly built in 2022 and 2023 they are larger than average and even boast a kingsize bed. Accessed via a footpath from the owner’s main house, they’ve been beautifully decorated with wonderful attention to detail. There’s a wood burner, perfect for cosy winter months, and a private patio area with BBQ for morning coffee and al fresco dining. The fields beyond stretch out as far as the eye can see, and the magnificently landscaped grounds include a large duck pond, 800 metres of wonderful river frontage and alternative picnic and barbecue areas which are shared with other onsite properties.
The small market town of Garstang can be reached in a 10-minute drive and provides a full range of amenities including a supermarket, pubs, restaurants and a selection of independent shops and casual eateries. The cities of both Lancaster and Preston are also easily reachable in around a 30-minute drive. The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 312 square miles, and once more provides the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with peaceful, remote walking and cycling available. The Lake District National Park can be reached in around an hour, or for those wanting to swap the countryside for the coast, the seaside resorts of Blackpool and Lytham St Annes are around a 45-minute drive. You are spoilt for choice.

Marrion House is set in the peaceful village of Overton, an historic fishing village, and 1 mile to Sunderland Point, surrounded by salt marshes between Lancaster and Morecambe. There are wonderful views of the Lancashire countryside and the Lake District fells in the distance.
Marrion House is a spacious bungalow offering two bedrooms and a family shower room. The property has a large living/dining space and separate, fully equipped kitchen. The back courtyard offers a sunny south facing area to enjoy all day long!
In the village there is a family-run garden centre, a church and a pub which has lots going on for the whole family. Sunderland Point is set at the mouth of the River Lune on the southern shores of Morecambe Bay. It’s remote and secretive split of land allows the chance for nature to thrive, and thus, is a perfect spot for bird watching. The popular seaside resort of Morecambe hosts many attractions from picking up the freshly caught shrimp at the daily farmers market to afternoon tea’s on the seafront, there is lots to offer. There is an abundance of fun to be had for the family including bowling, cinema and arcade centres or why not try out the quirky cafés, pubs and cocktail bars along the sea front?
The property is just a 5-minute drive from the M6 motorway making it easily accessible to the south Lake District National Park and North Yorkshire. For golfers, Heysham Golf Club is just 2 miles away, and there are also courses at Morecambe, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale and Silverdale. Beach 3 miles.

The two bedroom lodge has a family bathroom with shower and open plan living space with 55" Smart TV. There is a spacious decking area to enjoy on the summers nights. The Lodge is located just 1 minutes’ walk away from all the main facilities the park offers, including a basketball court, heated indoor swimming pool, an arcade and restaurant. The indoor facilities are open March-October and passes can be purchased for a small fee at the park’s reception.
If you like to be beside the seaside, Morecambe promenade is just a short walk away. It has a fantastic sandy beach, plenty of amusement centres, a cinema, shopping and lots of local eateries. The city of Lancaster is just 5 miles away with a fantastic shopping, bars and restaurants as well as the famous Lancaster Castle & Ashton Memorial.
To the north you can reach Kendal, ’The gateway to the Lakes’ in around a 25-minute drive, from there you are in the heart of the South Lakes and the Lake District National Park. Visit the famous steamers on Lake Windermere or the popular towns of Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside for a truly unique Lake District experience.

Stalmine is located approximately 5 miles from the small market town of Poulton-le-Fylde which has a good selection of shops, bars, and cafés. Other places that are worth a visit along the Fylde coast include Thornton Cleveleys with its old-fashioned charm and promenade, 7 miles, Fleetwood with its Freeport Outlet Shopping Village, 10 miles, and of course Blackpool, 9 miles, whose many attractions include The Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre, and Madame Tussauds.
Apart from being accessible for the coast, Carr End Barn A is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. Ribble Valley with its pretty villages is within an hour’s drive, and it’s an excellent choice for walks and country pubs. The Forest of Bowland, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, can also be reached within an hour’s drive. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are also very accessible by road and can be reached in an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 13 miles away and Preston is 19 miles. Beach 9¾ miles. The surrounding area is full of charming villages which also provide a good selection of quality restaurants, quaint tea rooms, shops and traditional pubs to accommodate most taste.

The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 312 square miles and you’ll find the landscape has immense diversity with spectacular woodland, moorland and farmland to explore. Further amenities can be found in the market towns of Kirkham and Poulton-Le-Fylde which are around a 15-minute drive and home to ample places to eat and drink, together with a vibrant nightlife.
The Fylde coastal resorts of Blackpool, Lytham, St Annes and Cleveleys can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and between them is much to see and do. In wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham there is a variety of bars, cafés, boutique shops and restaurants, and in St Annes you will find a beautiful sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The area is internationally famous for golf and the towns also host various events throughout the year, including the Lytham Proms and St Annes Kite Festival. Blackpool needs little introduction with its many attractions including the famous tower, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, the Sealife Centre, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. For a change of scenery the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is much loved for its stunning countryside and picturesque villages, can be reached in about half an hour. Wharfdale Lodge is a superb semi-detached bungalow that can be found in a quiet residential area of the Fylde coastal resort of Thornton-Cleveleys. Set between the two neighbouring towns you’ll find a wealth of shops, restaurants and coastal attractions are easily accessible.

In Thornton there are shops and pubs together with an 18th-century windmill and the Wyre Estuary Country Park. In the bustling seaside town of Cleveleys, you’ll find pavement cafés and restaurants, together with miles of beach to explore. Cleveleys seafront is home to the Mythic Coast Artwork trail, where striking giant sculptures bring to life ’The Sea Swallow’ story. The vast beach is made up of sand and shingle, and you’ll find traditional past times of sandcastle building, and kite flying are as popular as ever.

The bright lights of Blackpool, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower are just 4 miles round the coast and can be reached by the famous Blackpool Tram which passes through Cleveleys. If you drive a few miles further you’ll reach the beautiful sandy beaches of St Annes and, wonderfully cosmopolitan, Lytham which is home to annual events such as the incredibly popular Lytham Festival.
