Excellent bird watching, golf, bowling and fishing available. Plenty of coastal and inland cycle routes and excellent walking along quiet lanes and designated footpaths are direct from the doorstep. The beach is perfect for families, playing in the sandy pools, building sandcastles or beach tennis and body boarding. Dogs are permitted along the beach all year round, with an area designated dog-free during the summer months. Nearby places of historical interest include Blicking Hall (NT), Sheringham Park, and Cromer pier with its end of pier show. The city of Norwich is excellent for shopping malls, theatre, cathedral and the castle museum is 30 minutes away. The Norfolk Broads, 30 minutes’ drive away offers daily boat hire and river trips. Head east from here and pass through local beauty spots such as Burnham-Overy-Staithe, Brancaster, Holkham,and Wells-next-the-Sea, which boasts a picturesque quay and a narrow gauge railway that takes you down to the beach with its pretty painted beach huts. Head a little further and you can enjoy the pursuit of crabbing on Blakeney Quay, too.
    History buffs will enjoy a visit to the Sandringham and Holkham Estates and should also take the time to explore the Hanseatic Quarter of Old Kings Lynn. Bird watchers will enjoy trips to Titchwell, Cley and Welney and wildlife lovers will surely take a deer safari in nearby Snettisham. Add in attractions such as Norfolk Lavender, great walks and cycle routes and lots of places to eat and drink (many of which serve seasonal local produce) and you will soon see why people flock to this part of the glorious Norfolk coastline year after year.
