Alternatively, if you wanted to leave the car and have a day exploring there are plenty of picturesque walks right on Mill Cottages’ doorstep along with a superb village pub offering a variety of local ales and good old pub grub. The Byre is perfectly set in the delightful market town of Helmsley. The cottage itself many years ago was an old cow shed as the name suggests however the owners have given it the love and attention it deserves with a full renovation and made it a fantastic holiday retreat for couples with no expense meaning visitors are ensured of perfection throughout.
You enter the property into the open plan living/kitchen area. The kitchen is well equipped and well-presented and has all the necessities should you not want to dine out at the many restaurants close by. Tiggywinkle Cottage sits in the heart of the picturesque village of Hawnby. Surrounded by the North York Moors National Park, this 200-year-old, detached, traditional Yorkshire cottage, which was fully refurbished and extended in 2020, is simply delightful. Tiggywinkle Cottage was named by a walker during the 1950s who took time to sit and draw the property. The villagers fell in love with the name and so it remains, along with the original pencil sketch which now hangs within the cottage.
On arrival visitors are welcomed into the open plan living area. This room oozes character with its low ceilings and stone floors, tall visitors will need to take care! There is a country kitchen and large comfortable sofas around the wood burner in the open plan living area.
