Home Cottage is perfectly set in the delightful little village of Hovingham, tucked away outside the historic city of York. This semi-detached 200-year-old stone-built cottage is simply stunning and is everything you would want from a self-catering holiday home. Dating back to the 1800s, Home Cottage has been given the love and attention it deserves and still retains its sense of history and offers a real home from home feel. The cottage itself is just a short drive from the famed Castle Howard with its fabulous grounds making a great place for a family day out with various activities available to keep everyone entertained. Entrance is gained into the comfortable living room which is complete with a stunning wood burner adding extra charm and additional heat, giving a great place to snuggle up in front of the fire on those colder evenings with a glass or two of red wine. The country style kitchen which is fully equipped for all your culinary needs. To the rear of the cottage the enclosed private patio which is a great place for having a glass of fizz al fresco or taking in the morning air with a coffee.
Hovingham is a beautiful village set on the edge of The Howardian Hills situated close to Castle Howard and easy reach to the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales and the stunning North Yorkshire Coast meaning you have quick access to many scenic walks and fantastic bike trails. The village has a high-end restaurant, hotel with bar and restaurant, bakery with tearooms along with a village store and coffee shop offering lots of choice for food. Hovingham Hall stands in the centre of this picturesque village. Home Cottage is just eight miles from the wonderful market towns of Helmsley and Malton and just 17 miles from York, which is a must.

Set amongst beautiful countryside on a working farm which is on the borders of the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and Lancashire. This lovely barn conversion, which is attached to the owner’s home, is in an elevated position and as such enjoys outstanding far reaching views over the fells towards Ingleborough, and on a clear day you can also see the Lake District hills, making for some amazing sunsets. Thoughtfully furnished throughout, it makes for a cosy year round holiday home from which to walk or tour the surrounding area. Ingleton is approximately 3 miles away and offers a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Shops 1 mile, pubs 3 miles.

Situated within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, these carefully converted barns now provide two beautiful holiday cottages in a secluded, south facing, courtyard setting with stunning, uninterrupted views over Ryedale. Riccal Heads (ITS) has a large dining table which can seat 10 people, perfect if both properties are booked together. The area is excellent for both walking and cycling and the picturesque villages and quaint market towns await exploration. Hutton le Hole (1½ miles), is home to the Ryedale Folk Museum, giving an insight into traditions of the past, Helmsley
(10 miles) has a weekly market, an abundance of traditional teashops and the historic attractions of Duncombe Park, the Walled Garden and Norman castle ruins. Easily accessible is Dalby Forest with its 9 mile scenic drive and an award-winning visitor centre. The North York Moors Steam Railway offers a step back in time and a leisurely way to enjoy the scenery. Departing from Pickering
(10 miles) it passes through Goathland and Grosmont on its way to Whitby, with its stunning coastline and ancient abbey. Based in the picturesque village of Sinnington, this mid-terraced holiday cottage, which lies next to the owners’ home, makes an excellent base from which to explore both moors and coast. The village has a pony trekking centre and the outstanding North York Moors are easily reached by foot or car with excellent walking and cycling direct from the village. Fishing and golf are also available nearby. Visit Castle Howard, Helmsley or Pickering, (with steam railway, 4 miles). Whitby is 32 miles, Scarborough 26 miles and York 30 miles. Shop 2 miles. Excellent pub/restaurant 100 yards.

This former cart store has been converted into a quaint Dale’s stone cottage set just off the village green in Bellerby. With its streams and mill race running through Bellerby it’s a picturesque setting at the edge of Wensleydale. Entering the front door into the living/dining room with exposed stonework, flagstone flooring, beams and a large inglenook fireplace, the cottage offers an abundance of character and charm. The two settees set around the open fire offer a cosy feel while watching the Smart TV in Holly Cottage.
A dining table and chairs are positioned to the rear of the room. Going through to the kitchen, all the appliances, crockery, and utensils you need are available to rustle up some cosy meals while staying at Holly Cottage. The characterful staircase from the living room has uneven, deep treads with a rope banister to guide you up towards the two bedrooms. Both rooms offer comfortable beds, one being a double, the other offering bunk beds suitable for children with attractive quality linen and hand and bath towels available for each Guest. The compact shower room has a shower cubicle with a deep step in/out, toilet, sink and heated towel rail.
To the rear of the property there is an enclosed picket fenced garden which includes a lawn area and flower beds, along with a stone patio h a table, chairs, and a bench to enjoy sitting at while taking in a morning coffee or firing up the barbecue for an alfresco supper. The South facing front garden is not secured for dogs but guests can happily sit there on the bench and watch the world go by. The shared front driveway which offers parking for 1 car. The attached property, Cherry Tree Cottage, has allocated parking for 2 cars on the same driveway. Both properties can be used by larger Groups if required. Please ask about this option.
Bellerby is a village situated on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales National Park with a local pub serving a selection of real ales but unfortunately no food and although there is no shop or amenities as such in the village the lovely market town of Leyburn is just over a mile away where an array of individual shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants are available. If you are looking to get out and stretch your legs, whether walking or cycling, there are abundant established public footpaths, bridleways, and cycle routes available in the local vicinity with spectacular scenery, open countryside, and pretty Yorkshire villages to explore.
Within easy driving distance there is an array of places to visit whether it’s the historic Castle Bolton, Richmond Castle, Jervaulx Abbey or the stunning Aysgarth Falls, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. The children and adults alike will love Forbidden Corner with its quirky folly garden to explore or for the more adventurous why not visit the theme park, Lightwater Valley. Each cottage retains much character, with old stone arches, fireplaces and beams carefully retained. Immaculately maintained, warm, clean and superbly well-equipped with free high speed Wi-fi, these cottages are truly a ‘home from home’. No wonder so many visitors return time and again. The owners provide plenty of helpful information on the huge choice of places to visit, as well as menus from the local restaurants. Hungate is best summed up by a visitor who wrote, "There was nothing more we could have wished for in a holiday home.
