Number Two The Neuk is situated right in the heart of the welcoming small town of Belford where there are pubs, a tea room and a shop all within easy walking distance. The property has undergone a full rebuild, completed in 2018, and offers tastefully furnished accommodation all conveniently on ground floor level. The living room focuses on a lovely wood burner making this property a suitable choice regardless of the season. The kitchen is in pristine condition and both bedrooms and fresh shower room with walk-in shower are all immaculately presented too. Parking is available outside of the property on a quiet cul-de-sac.
Wooler sits at the foot of the Cheviot Hills and is a popular destination for those who enjoy outdoor activities only 10 miles west from Belford. Local amentities include a fish and chip shop, coffee shop and a Co-op. There is also the farm shop that sells local produce and has a varied menu on offer daily as have the local pubs with some offer food. The picture perfect coastal village of Bamburgh with its dramatic fortress and wide sweep of golden, sandy beach is a highly sought after seaside destination and is only 6 miles away.
The historic market towns of Alnwick to the south and Berwick-upon-Tweed to the north are equidistant at 15 miles away and offer a wide array of facilities. Beach 6 miles. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Swansfield Stables is situated on the outskirts of Alnwick and enjoys a tranquil setting on a smallholding. The original stables is thought to have been designed by the acclaimed 19th century Newcastle architect John Dobson. At the rear of Swansfield Stables there is a peaceful cobbled courtyard which gives access to a detached former cart shed, which has been beautifully transformed to create this self-catering holiday accommodation. The open plan living space covers the entire ground floor where a wood burner creates a cosy ambience. The family bedroom and shower room are on the first floor and immaculately presented throughout.

The welcoming owners of Swansfield Stables are conveniently on hand giving ample privacy to guests but happy to help ensure visitors enjoy their stay. There is shared use of a wood fired pizza oven available along with outdoor furniture; an idyllic spot to dine al fresco.

There is a wide array of amenities available within the heart of the historic market town of Alnwick, most within half a mile. Alnwick Garden is a popular tourist attraction where there is a spectacular Cascade Waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Alnwick Castle is also well worth a visit.

The picturesque town of Rothbury, which sits at the foot of the Simonside Hills, is a short drive to the west. The National Trust property at Cragside is situated on the edge of Rothbury and is nestled within 1000 acres to explore.

Heading east of Alnwick is the stunning Heritage coastline which this area is renowned for. With miles of golden, sandy beaches to discover, Swansfield Stables makes an excellent base from which to explore the heather-clad hills to the west and the stunning seashore to the east. Beach 5½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

The Burrow has been beautifully restored to a good standard making your stay comfortable. It was once a thriving gunpowder works dating back to 1798 and part of Low Wood Mill gunpowder works. With the multi-fuel burner in the living area and the underfloor heating, you can be toasty warm on those cold winter evenings and in the summer you can sit out on the patio and enjoy views and access to the paddock. There are plenty of walks from the door and Willow Cottage is within easy travelling distance to all the major tourist attractions throughout the county. Set conveniently next to a family friendly pub which serves home cooked food, perfect if you want to walk and enjoy a pleasant evening out. Perfectly located for exploring the National Park with the amazing dark sky observatory at Kielder (booking needed) or go over to Hadrian’s Wall and visit The Sill, a great tourist centre. Corbridge, a pretty Roman town, is an easy drive with some gorgeous cafés, pubs and bespoke shops to explore, whilst a little further you will find Hexham with its abbey and a great choice of shops and eateries. Newcastle upon Tyne is easily reached from here and the heritage coast peppered with castles and golden beaches makes a great day out.
