    Felton is in an ideal location, not too far from the A1, making venturing out very easy in all directions. Head over to the stunning Northumberland Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of golden beaches, peppered with historic castles, or head west over to Hadrian’s Wall area where you can spend time walking some of the ancient wall. Or perhaps stop off at one of the Roman Forts. Felton is only a few minutes from Alnwick, home still to the Duke of Northumberland who resides in part of the majestic castle. Some scenes from Harry Potter and Downton Abbey were filmed within the castle walls. Discover the cobbled streets, with a great choice of pubs and cafes. Chatton Trout Fishery invites amateur anglers to fish, without needing a licence, on a picturesque, 4-acre lake.
    Belford is located only a mile from the A1, giving easy access to the elegant Georgian town of Berwick, which straddles the salmon-rich River Tweed to the north.     This is a Victorian workers cottage with many original features and was built for the farm workers of the Cragside Estate. This is a dog friendly property where two dogs are welcome, although they need to be kept on a lead due being on a working farm, there is an enclosed area where they can be let off and have a good run.
    Staying at this cottage is to experience the history first-hand of the Cragside Estate’s Model Farm. Brimming with character on the edge of the National Park, East Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the many visitor attractions throughout this glorious county. Only two miles from the pretty market town of Rothbury with its own private stretch of salmon and trout fishing (by arrangement and seasonal), East Cottage is set on a small historical site featuring the only agricultural weigh bridge left in the UK today and a Grade II* listed building of Agricultural Importance. The site is linked to the Cragside, Rothbury and Coquetdale Area. The property was built by Lord Armstrong of Cragside in the 1880s as part of his Cragside Estate to show off his model farm.
