All three beautifully presented bedrooms are situated on the first floor along with a pristine family bathroom. The cottage sits at the end of a terrace only a gentle stroll from Craster sea shore. The lovely garden is full of mature shrubs and flowers and has a patio area suitable for dining al fresco. There is also a gorgeous summer house (The Beach Hut), an idyllic spot to snuggle in and relax. Bramble Cottage is a mere gentle stroll from the seashore of Craster. This picturesque coastal village is home to the renowned ‘Craster Kipper’; a smoked fish exported to food lovers across the country. Bramble Cottage has a private and gated drive for one vehicle only. If guests plan to bring a second vehicle or have visitors then the only option for this is the public car park, which is 220 yards away by foot and which costs £6.50 per day per car to park. This car park will become busy during peak periods, and there is no other public parking in the village.

The Friendliest Port - Amble is a bustling fishing town and working port situated just one mile south of Warkworth Village, on the Coastal Route through Northumberland. Amble is one of the few places on the Northumberland coast where you have no need to get in the car, everything is on your doorstep. With a good range of small, mostly independent shops, including a great little artisan bakery, excellent butchers, local seafood bought straight from the harbour, a superb Italian and an Indian restaurant, award-winning seafood restaurants and one of the best traditional fish and chip shops in the North East on the quayside, it’s a fascinating little fishing port. Within five minutes you can walk to Little Shore Beach with its row of pretty pastel coloured beach huts that you can rent from the Harbour Master for a round £20.00 per day. Two minute’ s walk from Number 8 will take you to The Braid which is a grass area ideal for walking dogs which runs adjacent to Amble Marina and continues along the footpath past Coquet Yacht Club towards the village of Warkworth with its impressive castle. There’s a local Sunday market held every week on the old quayside, which is lovely to wander around as well as a little ‘Harbour Village’ with tiny boutique-style independent shops operating out of pods resembling old fishermens’ huts.
The views from the quayside are spectacular – of the estuary, impressive Warkworth Castle, Coquet Island and of course the beautiful sea, and the walk along the harbour front to the interesting Marina is just lovely – follow it with lunch or dinner in one of the super little eateries on the quayside. A lovely walk to St Cuthbert’s Cave is only a few miles from Belford where the Lindisfarne (Holy Island) monks reputedly took St Cuthbert’s body in AD875 following the Viking road on Holy Island. Nearby Budle Bay has thousands of waders on the tidal lagoon a beautiful sight looking over to the island. A local bus takes you to the popular coastal villages of Beadnell, Seahouses and Bamburgh should you wish to leave your car behind. The moment you approach this beautifully converted chapel you know you’re in store for a lovely stay in a unique property. The large wooden chapel doors open to reveal a big hallway with a couple of rooms leading off to the sides. You come to a useful study room first which offers a little privacy or peace, and the opposite is a utility room providing the perfect place to dry and feed the dog, dry wet coats after a busy day’s walking in the Lakes. A second set of doors opens into an impressive, Instagram-worthy living space, with high vaulted ceilings, large leaded windows, and oak beams.
Once you catch your breath, you can take in the large kitchen with all the amenities and space required to cater anything from a simple sandwich to a family feast. Alternatively, within a short drive, you can enjoy the world-famous Windermere water offering Lakeside towns to explore with an excellent range of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, or attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter. Take a lake cruise or hire your motorboat to enjoy this vast expanse of water. This is one of the best wildlife watching spots in the Northeast. Right next to the beach, it offers fantastic views across the length of Druridge Bay and is internationally renowned for its birds.
You can also travel inland only a few miles to the market town of Alnwick and Alnwick Castle that has been the filming location in a variety of films, including the exterior of Hogwarts in Harry Potter films. The castle also has a set of beautiful, landscaped gardens to explore, including the famous Poison Garden. Warwick House is a lovely stone-built property in the small friendly village of Felton. This lovely house has been completely refurbished in 2021 with a lovely wood burner in the contemporary living room for cosying up for nights in on a cooler evening. This three-bedroom house with a lovely deep bath and large shower cubicle even has a small private sitting area to the rear which catches the sun, lovely for relaxing after a day out exploring. Only a very short walk is a popular village pub serving lovely food and an award-winning café so you can leave your car at the door and relax for an evening. Your pets are welcome here with plenty of paths for walking nearby.
Felton is located midway between Alnwick and Morpeth both lovely little towns with Alnwick the home to the Duke of Northumberland who lives in the famous castle featured in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter, with cobbled streets to explore and plenty of shops and tearooms it is a lovely day out. The village is easily accessed from the main A1 and Burgham Park Golf course is only 3 miles. Nearby the Heritage Coast AONB has golden sands and unspoilt beaches for you to explore all peppered with castles, ruins, and friendly little villages. The Northumbrian people will offer you a warm welcome and Warwickk House is a perfect location for your family holiday at any time of year. The attention to details throughout the rooms is evident as you arrive, and it really is a super place to stay with your friends or family. Craster which is famous for the smoked kippers and ruins of Dunstanborough Castle is only 15 miles, and inland a visit over to Hadrian’s Wall to discover some of the Old Roman Fort Museums is a lovely day trip for a change of scenery and only 40 miles away.
