The elevated position looks over the town and lovely views can be seen from some windows and from the raised gin balcony with outdoor seating. From the door there are dog walks to Cragside from the rear of the property and your pet is as welcome as you are at this smart, contemporary-style holiday home. A barbecue is available in the summer for guests’ enjoyment if you want some al fresco dining.

Rothbury has a good selection of bars, cafés and a few shops, and for those who are more active, there are river walks and lovely walks up the Simonside Hills. The location of Rothbury is ideal for those wishing to explore in all directions, being only 12 miles from Alnwick, where the infamous castle lies that was used in the Harry Potter films, and only a few miles from the glorious Heritage Coast. Nearby, the amazing Cragside House and Gardens make a great day out for all ages. Beach 17 miles. Shops, pubs, and restaurants ½ mile.

Bramble Cottage is situated in the highly sought after traditional fishing village of Craster. The accommodation is immaculately presented throughout and enjoys a lovely homely ambience. The tastefully furnished living room, which has a wood burner for those cosy nights in, leads to a separate dining room with traditional hatch connecting to the kitchen. All three beautifully presented bedrooms are situated on the first floor along with a pristine family bathroom. The cottage sits at the end of a terrace only a gentle stroll from Craster sea shore. The lovely garden is full of mature shrubs and flowers and has a patio area suitable for dining al fresco. There is also a gorgeous summer house (The Beach Hut), an idyllic spot to snuggle in and relax. Bramble Cottage is a mere gentle stroll from the seashore of Craster. This picturesque coastal village is home to the renowned ‘Craster Kipper’; a smoked fish exported to food lovers across the country. Bramble Cottage has a private and gated drive for one vehicle only. If guests plan to bring a second vehicle or have visitors then the only option for this is the public car park, which is 220 yards away by foot and which costs £6.50 per day per car to park. This car park will become busy during peak periods, and there is no other public parking in the village.
There is a small, pretty harbour close by with a view northward along the rocky shore to the spectacular ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Explore the 20 miles of Northumberland Heritage Coastline recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its walking trails and cycling routes. The welcoming village of Embleton is only 3 miles north with its wide sweep of golden sandy beach which has won the public poll of ‘Beach of the Year’ in the 2017 BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards. Beadnell Bay is a further 4 miles north and a popular destination for water-sports enthusiasts, including sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. Two miles further up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly from its harbour. The picture perfect village of Bamburgh, snuggled in the shadow of its majestic castle is a further 3 miles north. Just 7 miles inland from Bramble Cottage is the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Academy). Visitors can enjoy a trip to Alnwick Garden, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden including the Grand Cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Set in Amble’s town centre, ROK House is set back off the road only a few hundred yards from the local amenities and only a short walk to the harbour in this small friendly fishing town. Built in 1935, refurbished in 2018, this terraced home offers the perfect base for families looking to explore Northumberland. ROK House also has a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area to enjoy those family meals or lazy mornings at the large breakfast bar. Amble has a friendly port with a working harbour, marina and small beach, and you can also find some small pod style shops, popular on a Sunday when the busy market takes place. Around the harbour are some small fish restaurants as well as two fish and chip shops and an Italian style ice cream shop with a fantastic range of ice cream. Boat trips are available here to Coquet Island to see the RSPB bird sanctuary. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away and makes a lovely walk along the river admiring the view of Warkworth Castle which often holds events through the year. There are pubs, bespoke shops and further opportunities to explore all with free parking, it is a popular place to visit. A few minutes drive from here is the town of Alnwick with its cobbled streets and famous castle which has featured in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. Alnwick Gardens, with its spectacular grand cascade waterfall and the worlds largest treehouse restaurant should not be missed. Amble is on the edge an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, along the Heritage Coast with some of the most unspoilt beaches and picturesque villages in England, with plenty of walking and cycle paths, and fishing can also be found nearby. Amble is a great location for exploring the whole of this unspoilt county with all the amenities you need on your doorstep. The train station in Alnmouth is only 5 miles away, where you can hop on a train to Newcastle, Edinburgh, Durham or York should you wish to make the most of the area and see some of the lovely architecture and shops in these vibrant cities Beach ½ mile.
