    Well House is an imposing, lovingly furnished with Farrow & Ball colour schemes, Grade II listed home dating back to the early 1700s (circa 1640), which retains many of its original period features, being high ceilings and exposed beams. Formerly the Angel Inn, Well House faces the high street in the popular village of Belford. This property was believed to have been protected throughout war due to the property being the main source of water for the village, and amazingly the well still remains in the cellar of this historic property! Well House has significant historical local importance and legend. Directly next door to the property there is award-winning Well House Café which offers the most mouth-watering home cooked bakes and breakfasts, ideally located.
    Sleeping 8 guests over 2 floors with three bedrooms plus a master suite boasting outstanding features throughout, this property is ideal for a large gathering of family or friends to celebrate a special occasion. The ground floor and lower ground floor is home to two sitting areas, and a snug/games room providing you and your family ample socialising spots; both of the sitting areas have toasty wood burning fires and cosy seating. The second sitting area, named The Stable, is a stunning open room with views over the garden with full exposed stone walls, with a fascinating medieval feeling. Head into the well-equipped country kitchen/diner and you will find a fantastic gas range oven and a large dining table, ideal for good social gatherings. A welcome pack with some goodies and a helpful guest information book will also be waiting for you upon arrival. Additionally, on this floor you will find a gorgeous kingsize bedroom boasting a lovely en-suite with a double shower and basin (no toilet). When evening draws in, head off to sleep in one of the further three bedrooms on offer.
    Occupying the first floor are two bedrooms, the first is the master suite, a luxurious kingsize room with a grand bathroom offering a large roll top bath and a double shower. The second bedroom is another spacious kingsize with its own en-suite. To the rear wing of the property there is a further room with two single beds.     Belford, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a quaint village retreat in an excellent location for cyclists, walkers, historians, and families to explore Bamburgh, Seahouses, Berwick, Alnwick, Holy Islands and Cheviot Hills in Northumberland National Park. The beach huts are set on the shore and a walk along the pier is a delight for all ages. Take a boat ride over to Coquet Island or enjoy a leisurely walk along to Warkworth Castle, only a couple of miles away, a picture postcard village steeped in history. Nearby Alnwick, famed for the castle and gardens, is a short drive as is the start of the Heritage Coast stretching all the way up to Berwick on Tweed AONB.

    The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, dominated by its majestic castle, is only 2 miles north, where there is a wide expanse of golden, and often empty sandy beaches. The tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island, can be seen from the beach and is accessible via a causeway twice daily. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is home to thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers. The historic market town of Alnwick, with its own castle, offers many facilities, just a short drive inland.
