The location is close to Warkworth and Amble, two of the top tourist destinations in Northumberland. Amble is larger with a working harbour and bustling little harbour front with a great Sunday market, shopping pods and more restaurants and pubs. Alnwick Castle and Gardens is only 11 miles away and really worth a visit during your stay. A little further you will find Craster, a pretty little village with an array of amenities. Travel a further to Seahouses, 25 miles, for a real seaside experience with fish and chips and boat rides to the Farne Islands to see the seals or puffins. The border town of Berwick is only 40 miles away, steeped in history, and once belonging to Scotland. A walk through the surrounding farmland and countryside will take you to an award winning ice cream parlour. Don’t forget you can easily travel inland too, over towards the stunning National Park where you can witness the true diversity that Northumberland has to offer. Kingfisher Cottage is a spacious holiday bungalow just a short walk from the amenities offered by this friendly little town with a working harbour, pier and small beach. Boat trips to Coquet are popular to see the RSPB sanctuary home to puffins and seabirds. From the harbour, enjoy the views towards Warkworth Castle you can walk to Warkworth from Amble, past the marina and river. Nearby Warkworth is a pretty picture postcard village dominated by the castle which sits at the top of the village.
Amble is the start of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretching along the beautiful coastline to Berwick-upon-Tweed with miles of golden beaches and castles. Make sure you visit Holy Island featured in local author L J Ross novel but ensure you check the tide tables to access the causeway. No trip to Amble is complete without a visit to Alnwick 10 miles away, where you can visit the Duke’s home of Alnwick Castle, more famed for some Harry Potter Hogwarts Scenes as well as a Downton Abbey Christmas edition. Of course Northumberland doesn’t just have a coast line, it also has a magnificent Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park and is home Kielder Water, the largest made reservoir in England surrounded by glorious forests and spectacular scenery. Travel west to Hadrian’s Wall towards Corbridge, easily reachable from Amble. The location is ideal for leaving your car behind on a warm evening and strolling down to one of the little places to eat or taking a stroll along the fishing pier. Beach ¾ mile. The nearby village of Warkworth, whose skyline is dominated by it’s ancient castle, is a short drive away and has an interesting variety of galleries, shops, authentic pubs, restaurants and cafés, including a French patisserie, and is centrally placed for discovering all of the beaches, islands, castles, historic houses, towns and villages in historic Northumbria. Spacious for two people, Little Willows is ideally located to explore the Heritage coast, peppered with castles and friendly villages. Only a short drive from Amble, reputedly the friendliest port with a working harbour, good Sunday market and a good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops, with an award-winning ice cream shop on the harbour. Amble is the start of the Heritage coastal route so head north for glorious beaches or head west towards the National Park and Cheviots all within easy driving distance making fabulous days out. Little Willows and The Willows are both dog friendly properties and can be booked together for larger groups whilst maintaining privacy in both properties.

Golf is available at Burgham Park, only a 2-minute drive, should you fancy a round whilst visiting.
