Situated on the western shores of Loch Ryan in beautiful Galloway, in one of the most desirable locations in the area, boasting breath taking loch views.     This is the perfect location to explore the area. Visit Dally Bay where seals and porpoises can be spotted. Literally just cross the road take a walk to the shore on Loch Ryan and around Wig Bay and The Scar, a circular walk along the loch’s shoreline and back into the village of Kirkcolm. The Scar is a sandbank which juts out into Loch Ryan, and home to one of the largest colonies of nesting migrant terns in the region. From a historical perspective, during the Second World War, Wig Bay was used as a base for the flying Catalina boats, evidence can be seen of this on a walk along the bay. Noted for its spectacular coastline, the area provides a vast range of opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast to include wonderful walks, coarse and sea fishing as well as shooting, sailing, coastal rowing and cycling and several excellent golf courses. Stranraer is just a few miles away where there are an array of shops and restaurants and the kids will love Agnew Park with its pedal boats, train rides, adventure playground and crazy golf.
