Chestnut Cottage has been lovingly converted into a destination holiday cottage in the beautiful village of Sheinton, where gorgeous interiors and rustic, bespoke furniture await you and your guests. As you enter through the bespoke oak doorway, you’ll find yourself in a bright and spacious porch, great to take a seat and remove your boots and coats. A large sofa is set around a welcoming wood burner in the living room and provides the ideal spot to gather to plan your next day’s adventures or just relax with a film on the Smart TV including Netflix and Freeview. The adjacent kitchen is kitted out for creating feasts with all the appliances you will need and follows a very contemporary design. The French doors in the dining area lead out to the garden providing loads of natural light and stunning views of the Wenlock Edge and further towards the Welsh hills; a lovely sociable space to enjoy evenings over a delicious meal or maybe some board games and drinks.
Three gorgeous double bedrooms await you, each with luxurious bedding. There are two stunning bathrooms, one en-suite in the master, with a walk-in shower and the other a panel bath with shower over. A utility room is a useful additional extra, with ample space for storage and a place to pop muddy boots after a day’s hiking. On the lower ground you’ll find a huge, converted TV/games room with fussball table and Playstation 3 for gaming or watching your favourite movie on a large screen (Netflix included); grab the popcorn and indulge in this soundproof hideaway.
Wander outside, drink in hand, and enjoy the completely enclosed garden, perfect for children and your dogs to play in happily. The towns of Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock and Telford are all nearby and offer a choice of shops, pubs, and restaurants, or if you are feeling more active, the Shropshire Hills and the Long Mynd are just South-West of you. These are a paradise for hikers and cyclists alike. Further afield takes you to the medieval market town of Ludlow, famous for its castle as well as many food and drink festivals throughout the year to enjoy. Take a trip to the town of Bridgnorth, home to The Severn Valley Steam Railway, explore the World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge or discover the numerous National Trust properties of Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Sunnycroft House and Carding Mill Valley all within easy reach.

The Tumbling Sailor’s name derives from an old pub which was previously on the site called The Tumbling Sailors Inn. It was demolished in the early 1900s. This marvellous Shropshire cottage offers groups of up to six a wonderful stay located on the bank of the River Severn, and in the heart of Jackfield, you’re only one mile from the Ironbridge Gorge.
The cottage has a stylish interior, with modern features, and little touches of rural charm. You’ll love the comfy furnishings, oak beams, and exposed brick. A great spot to socialise with your loved ones is in the open plan living/dining room with comfy sofas, views across the garden and complete with a wood burner. You can stay toasty and enjoy a glass of wine long into the evening. This room also has a large wooden dining table with plenty of space for your entire group, and if that’s not enough there’s a conservatory with more seating to relax in and enjoy a book or cup of tea first thing. The property’s modern kitchen has all you need to cook up lovely meals, including a large Range oven.
The three bedrooms all sit on the first floor. The master boasts a kingsize bed, whilst the second bedroom has a double bed, and the third two singles for all your sleeping arrangements covered. There’s plenty of space and all have been decorated in calming tones but still showcasing that homely cottage feel. A large family bathroom with a luxurious corner bathtub and shower completes the first floor. Outside the River Severn sits at the bottom of the garden, offering you beautiful views and sounds from the river, and ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. There are steps leading down, along the way you’ll find lovely seating areas, and impressive gardens great on those sunny days. The garden is enclosed so that your furry friends can roam freely and there’s lots of space for everyone to enjoy a meal outside.
You’re located near to the wonderful village of Ironbridge, it’s just a quick, 15-minute walk from the cottage where you’ll find quaint cafes, great pubs and restaurants and independent shops to explore. The Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage site is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways, and country lanes. Whilst the village is famous for being home of the world’s first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79 a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum, and many National Trust properties. The Tumbling Sailor is a wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful county of Shropshire. Pub and restaurant within 1 mile.

A beautiful, detached holiday property in an elevated setting overlooking the countryside, occupying a quiet position within the peaceful village of Trefonen. This stone-built cottage, featuring a welcoming wood burner and an enclosed garden, provides ideal accommodation for families. The village is on the Offa’s Dyke trail and is a mere 3 miles from the market town of Oswestry. Mid and North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire are easily accessible. Friary Cottage is a Grade II Listed, detached and renovated town cottage. Well-positioned and beautifully presented with some antique furniture, it boasts original, quirky features and is only a 5-minute walk from the centre of the town and a 3-minute walk from Ludlow’s train station. A cosy wood burner and gas fired Aga are amongst the treasures of the house. From the sun room/conservatory there is a new garden room to enjoy. Guests can also enjoy a private enclosed rear garden, a separate, small walled courtyard, and it is located on one of the most prominent streets of this charming medieval town. Ludlow is overshadowed by its own majestic castle, as it was once, like York, a seat of Government in Tudor and Stuart England. Now hosting the famous food festivals and events throughout the year, there is always a lively atmosphere here. It has a reputation for fine foods, award-winning restaurants, speciality and antique shops and even a racecourse. An excellent base to explore the unrivalled countryside for picnicking and walking or nearby towns such as Bridgnorth and Bewdley (Severn Valley Railway), Ironbridge, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Tenbury Wells and Leominster. The cathedral city of Hereford with its chained library and Mappa Mundi are all within a short drive, as are historic houses such as Witley Court, Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Stokesay Castle and Powis Castle on the Welsh borders. Acton Scott, an historic working farm and the Secret Hills Discovery Centre are all just a few of the nearby attractions, so you will never be short of something to see. Shropshire has many quaint towns and villages to visit including Much Wenlock, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Shrewsbury, all are accessible within a 30-minute drive. Activity centres are dotted around the county offering anything from clay shooting, high ropes and canoeing to mountain biking and Segway and quad trekking. Nearby is also the historical National Trust Attingham Park, Wenlock Edge and Cardingmill Valley, as well as Stokesay and Ludlow castles. The Secret Hills Discovery Centre and Acton Scott Working Farm are great for children, and the glider centre on the Long Mynd and horse racing at Ludlow are also available nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles. Local pub in Morville, 1.5 mile walk (cross country and hilly terrain, so get your walking boots on!)

This pretty, detached stone cottage sits in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty only 5 miles from the foot of the Long Mynd on the Shropshire border, close to the Welsh Marches. The Onny Trail is on the doorstep leading to walks on Wart Hill, Hopesay Hill on the Shropshire Way, and the Jack Mytton Way which goes up over the long Mynd. It has an enviable position close to the road networks, yet has fields and woodland to the rear. The field across the road belongs to the owners and has the River Onny running along the bottom where you can relax and try your hand at some wild fishing. The cottage has its own private patio area with sole use of a six-seater hot tub.
Shropshire is a great area to visit with plenty of activities and places to visit within a short distance. Some of the attractions include Acton Scott Working Farm, Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Stokesay Castle, and the vibrant market town of Ludlow with its castle, racecourse, weekly markets, and numerous food fairs held throughout the year. The Glider Centre on the Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley (National Trust) is a must for adrenaline lovers. The beautiful market town of Ludlow, well known for its food festival and Historic Shrewsbury is set on the banks of the River Severn and offers a great selection of shops, bars, and restaurants. While in nearby Condover there is an activity centre where family activities include low ropes, high ropes, kayaking, and laser tag. The Edge Adventure Activity Centre at Much Wenlock offers quad bike trekking, clay shooting, mountain boarding, and much more.
For a more relaxed approach to your holiday there are some lovely towns and areas to visit such as Bridgnorth with the Severn Valley Railway, inland funicular railway, and the historic Ironbridge gorge and museums. From the property within an hour’s drive, there are Powys Castle, Berrington Hall, and Attingham Park all National Trust properties and just a little further you will find Chirk Castle, Erddig, and Croft Castle. Shop 1½ miles, pub 1 mile, and restaurant 3 miles.

Luxury barn conversions perfect for groups looking to get away and explore the surrounding area with a luxury base to return to, including a private hot tub within the garden. There is plenty to see and do including walks, as well as the Cheshire Cycleway (Regional Route 70) and the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal. Whilst the barns enjoy a peaceful rural setting, they are still very close to amenities. Whitchurch town centre is within walking distance and includes an array of excellent shops, pubs and restaurants in the town. It’s home to a restaurant recognised by the Michelin Guide and awarded a place in the 2020 guide. The delightful market town has many splendid buildings from medieval, Tudor and Georgian times, all dominated by St. Alkmund’s Church. Internationally renowned for its clock production dating back to the 1650s, Whitchurch is known as ’the Home of Tower Clocks’, and a fine example can be seen on one of the barns.
Attractions close by, include Ellesmere with its beautiful lakes, 11 miles, a variety of National Trust mansions and gardens, and the historical city of Chester with its excellent shopping and famous races, 25 miles, with the Blue Planet Aquarium close by. Chester Zoo, as seen on TV’s ’Secret Life of a Zoo’, is only 30 minutes away and is one of Europe’s largest zoos, helping endangered animals from all over the world.
Other places of interest include Hawkstone Follies, Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, BeWILDerwood, Alderford Lake, RAF Cosford, Fenn’s and Whixall Mosses, and the incredible Ironbridge Gorge.

This delightful property is set on a no through lane overlooking the Shropshire Union Canal and enjoys the peace and tranquillity that Shropshire has to offer. It offers three bedrooms for six guests. There is a lovely seating area to the front where guests can sit and watch the passing canal boats.

There is much to see and do nearby including the beautiful Ceiriog Valley, Offa’s Dyke, Froncysylte World Heritage Site, Chirk Castle and the picturesque town of Llangollen where an abundance of outdoor activities are available.

The scenic town of Ellesmere is 9 miles away with picturesque walks around the lovely lakes. The nearby town of Oswestry is home to an Iron Age Hill Fort, a must see for history lovers. Golf is available at Henlle Park Golf Club, and spa facilities are available at the Lion Quays Hotel, both 1 mile away.

A good selection of pubs and restaurants are within a 2 mile radius, ideal for a relaxing evening out. Shrewsbury offers a large selection of points of interest and landmarks to visit including Shrewsbury Abbey and Attingham Park. You are also just a 40-minute drive from the Roman town of Chester.

Betchcott is a hamlet near the village of Picklescott in Shropshire. It lies in the parish of Smethcott, in the northern foothills of the Long Mynd. The nearest town is Church Stretton. If it is time for a break away together, Keepers Cottage has you covered with all sorts of family friendly comforts. Even your dogs will find the large, enclosed garden a treat. Plus, if you would like to bring your horse along, yes you read that correctly, the owners can provide stables for up to six horses, along with a menage and three paddocks. There’s livestock on the farm and a beautiful private lake for everyone to enjoy, the owners are very close by and welcome you to enjoy all the facilities.
Inside, you have a well-equipped kitchen and dining area beneath wooden beams, complete with a Rayburn oven, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave. There is a roomy utility room, with more cooking facilities, a sink, and washing machine. Plus, a ground floor larder, with supplies and there is a ground floor toilet. Just off the kitchen is a lovely room for reading or playing board games, its light and airy and a great place to relax after a day out exploring.
The living room is open plan with the kitchen and dining area and very welcoming, offering a Smart TV and wood burner. The house was rebuilt in 2010 to a very high standard and features green oak beams and a warm, homely feel. Upstairs offers three bedrooms, sleeping up to six. The family bathroom is centred between them all, although the double does have an en-suite shower and toilet, so there won’t be any queues for the shower.
Outside Keepers Cottage is an expansive garden which loops around the property, including a decked area with outdoor furniture, a patio, and a large lawn for everyone to enjoy. The nearby pub is quintessentially English and is full of rustic charm and character, with oak beams, open fires, and a wonderfully warm atmosphere, only a short walk away.
Church Stretton is the main shopping area and has well known various independent shops from kitchen supplies to clothing. It also provides all the essentials with a supermarket and post office. The owners have plenty of recommendations for excellent places to eat around the wider area. You are within easy reach of the Shropshire Hills and The Long Mynd, which is excellent to explore by foot or bike and for anyone who enjoys nature.
Picklescott is ideally placed for access to Ride UK routes and the many miles of bridleways which criss-cross the Long Mynd for those bringing your horses. Further afield there is Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town and an architectural gem with a lively community feel, busy with events and festivals throughout the year. Perhaps the area’s charm is most evident in where you are staying, make use of the private lake for fishing or take a walk to soak in the breathtaking scenery. There is a lot to appreciate, and Keepers Cottage is sure to be a highlight of your next stay.

Situated on the owner’s farm in the pretty hamlet of Betton Strange, only two miles from the town centre of Shrewsbury. The barns at Bretton Alkmere Farm are perfect for a family get together or a friend’s holiday with plenty of luxurious extras. The Brewhouse (UK44073) sleeps two, The Granary (UK44074) sleeps six, The Dairy (UK44130) sleeps eight and The Stables (UK44139) sleeps 10 and all have been decorated to a high modern standard whilst cleverly preserving the characteristics of the original barns.

They come with en-suite facilities and all of them have large open plan living, dining and kitchen areas with plenty of comfy seating for all and large dining tables. The kitchens are spacious, modern, and fully equipped for any chefs in the party, but if you don’t feel like cooking, there’s plenty of fantastic restaurants nearby that the owners will gladly share their recommendations. All the barns have wood flooring throughout and charming exposed beams, and there has been a great deal of attention to detail so that you can relax in style and comfort. There are Smart TVs with Netflix if you fancy a movie night. Each of the barns come with enclosed gardens and patios, with breathtaking views of the surrounding Shropshire countryside and plenty of parking for everyone. In addition to the fabulous accommodation, the owners offer you a luxury hamper and if there’s availability the children can be shown around the farm. The family have a fantastic farm shop not too far away, so that you can indulge in delicious local produce during your stay.
