The front door opens into the open plan living/dining area which is a welcoming area to socialise in, either around the table over a game of cards or by sitting in front of a roaring log fire. The kitchen is well-appointed with all the amenities and equipment you require to prepare a picnic or Sunday roast dinner. Upstairs are three bedrooms comprising a master bedroom with a double bed, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The accommodation is completed with two bathrooms, one with a bath and the second with a shower cubicle. There are shared gardens with the adjoining property, and the properties share access to a barn which offers table tennis, pool and table football. Pets are also allowed.
The immediate area around the cottage is a walkers’ and cyclists’ paradise with a selection of fells, pikes and woods to explore. Within 30 minutes’ drive you can be at Coniston Water, the site of the famous Donald Campbell water speed world record. A short 10 minutes’ drive away is the market town of Broughton-in-Furness. Broughton has excellent amenities including a selection of local shops, a tourist information centre and petrol station. In and around Broughton you will also find some of the excellent pubs, including several award winners, many offering good quality food alongside their real ales and roaring fires, you will be spoilt for choice as to where to dine out.
For a family day out there is plenty to offer such as South Lakes Safari Zoo at nearby Dalton, Muncaster Castle with its owl sanctuary, Eskdale Miniature Railway, the Lakes Aquarium and boat trips on Coniston Water and Lake Windermere. You’ll never be short of something to do.

The famous Devil’s Bridge walk starts just a few minutes from the cottage where you can enjoy a lovely walk along the riverside and over to Ruskin’s View or even a dip in the river during summer!
The cottage is set over three floors. On entering the accommodation you are met with an exceptionally designed modern kitchen and a large solid oak dining table. The large patio doors open up onto the courtyard ideal for BBQ’s in the summer months. There is a downstairs toilet and utility room for your comfort. The first floor offers a generous living room with relaxing leather sofas, a large Smart TV and an electric wood burner taking centre stage. A single bedroom is located off the living space. The third floor boasts two well designed bedrooms, with en-suite facilities. Kirkby Lonsdale is centrally located between the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire. Just a 15 minute drive from the cottage you will find yourself in Ingleton, North Yorkshire, famous for waterfall’s, caving and climbing. The south Lake District is only a 20 minute drive away and offers attractions such as the South Lakes Safari Zoo, Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, Lakes Aquarium, Lakeland Motor Museum and Holker Hall Gardens- this is all before you reach Windermere Lake! 25 minutes south on the M6 and you are in the Historic City of Lancaster or by the seaside town of Morecambe. As the name suggests, a pet friendly, cosy character cottage with beamed ceilings, two double bedrooms and and L-shaped living/dining room. This traditional Lakeland cottage is situated in the heart of Portinscale village, which lies on the northern shores of Derwentwater and 1 mile from Keswick. The village has a pub, restaurants, a tea room/shop and a marina for those who enjoy sailing. In Keswick there are many shops, galleries, pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions to explore on the rainy days. There are many beautiful mountain walks immediately accessible from Cosy Cottage, including Causey Pike, Catbells, Grisedale Pike and Skiddaw, or low level walks around the lake.

Throughout the year you can enjoy any number of festivals in the town ranging from lantern parades, beer or comedy festivals, the ever popular “Finefest” or Dickensian Christmas markets. You are in a great location to explore the south Lake District, and Windermere and Coniston Water within 30 minutes’ drive for walking and water enthusiasts. If climbing is your preferred pastime, you’ll find a great variety of bouldering through to large crags all within an easy drive. If you prefer more leisurely pursuits, you have plenty of options from museums to stately homes, escape rooms to segways, steam trains to lake cruises, Michelin star restaurants to horse racing, the option are endless and of course this is the World of Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter for those literary enthusiasts. Conveniently located between Kendal and Carnforth, the medieval market town of Milnthorpe is only a 10-minute drive away, here you can find a small supermarket, petrol station, four takeaways and three pubs. Levens Hall and Gardens is a 20-minute drive from the apartment, being famous for the world’s oldest Topiary Gardens with a wonderful café, also very popular with locals, serving delicious home cooked food. The rest of the Lake District National Park, including Bowness and Windermere, is a mere 30 minutes’ drive away, and the Yorkshire Dales, with the popular market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and the water falls at Ingleton, a similar distance.
