The Cumbrian coastal village of Coulderton is located on the outskirts of St Bees, and about 3 miles from the market town of Egremont. You will be able to enjoy many local attractions including a special trip on the miniature railway at Ravenglass, enjoy the sights of the Lakes at Ennerdale or Buttermere, trips to Whitehaven with the famous Rum Story and Beacon Museum. Keswick and Windermere with their local shops, cafés and restaurants are well worth a vist.

The traditional mining village of Dearham has a lot to offer, the local Post Office and shop is just across the road and it has a nearby chippy! If you fancy some pub grub or a rewarding drink after a long day, the village pub is just a five minute walk. Hop in the car and you will reach the town of Maryport in just 2½ miles, home to The Lake District Coast Aquarium as well as Clip ’n’ Climb, a popular climbing adventure attraction. Kids will love Cave at the Wave which features an indoor caving activity, or if you want to boost your adrenaline, you can whizz around the local go-karting track. If culture is your thing you can visit Senhouse Roman Museum or take a trip 4 miles away to Cockermouth. This lovely Cumbrian town is the birthplace of William Wordsworth and offers a delightful town centre with a good mix of bars, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions, and is also home to the famous Jennings’s Brewery. In just 7 miles you will be within the Lake District National Park with its stunning scenery and no end of walking and cycling routes. Or continue on your route another 8 miles to find Bassenthwaite Lake, one of Cumbria’s most stunning lakes with the backdrop of the imposing Skiddaw, a challenge for even the most experienced fell walkers. Seaton is a lovely village just two miles from the Cumbrian Coast with an excellent pub just a few hundred yards up the road and shops nearby. The major town of Workington offers all your usual high street brands and supermarkets as well as a good range of bars and plenty of places to eat. Pippin Howe is central to several popular tourist attractions and areas. Jump in the car and you are just 20 minutes from the long stretch of beach at Allonby or 25 minutes to the sandy beaches of St Bees. The Solway Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is well worth a visit. The harbour of town of Maryport is 15 minutes’ away and has a range of family attractions.
You can reach the tourist magnet of Keswick in 30 minutes and Bassenthwaite with The Lake District Wildlife Park and The Lakes Distillery in 25 minutes. The Southern tip of Windermere, where you can join the Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway to visit the Lakeland Motor Museum. Or why not take a Windermere Lake Cruise to Bowness or Ambleside. If you love the outdoors, this offers a great base to explore much of The South Lakes including Hawkshead, Windermere, Coniston and Ulverston is just up the coast.
