For that more informal meal, there is the relaxed atmosphere of the dining area, adjacent to the spectacular kitchen. On lovely summer evenings you can open up the doors through to the conservatory and enjoy the views of the enclosed walled garden.
There are four sumptuously furnished bedrooms, all decorated with your comfort in mind, two of which have beautiful en-suite facilities. There is also a large family bathroom with double sinks, a shower and a roll-top bath.
You can walk through the grounds of the property and access the world famous Hadrian’s Wall path. If you want to sit back and relax, the owners can arrange hot tub hire instead. Beach 15 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ¼ mile and restaurant 4 miles.

It is the perfect location to take a stroll into Brampton where you can sample the many good restaurants and pubs. With so much to do and see in the area, this property could not be better placed. Take a trip to Talkin Tarn Country Park, just 2 miles from Brampton, with its 65-acre lake set amid 120-acres of farmland and woodland. The tarn is an ideal place for recreation, group activities or a quiet stroll through the mature woodlands. Walby Farm Park is ideal for families and Lanercost Priory is also within close proximity. Whilst there, enjoy afternoon tea or lunch at the café where your dog is welcome too.
No stay in Cumbria is complete without visiting Hadrian’s Wall, an iconic monument built by the Romans. Stretching 73 miles from Wallsend near Newcastle, across the neck of England to the Solway coast in North West Cumbria. Why not walk alongside a stretch of the wall or cycle along the well-known Coast to Coast (C2C) route? Take a drive and within 20 minutes you can be in the beautiful border city of Carlisle, with its array of high street shopping. Within 30 minutes you could be over the border into Scotland or the Lake District National Park. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Angerton Cottage is a delightful country cottage set in beautiful countryside yet close to the many and varied attractions the area has to offer. Refurbished in 2021 Angerton Cottage is lovingly decorated and furnished throughout, a particularly favourite room at Angerton Cottage is the living room with patio doors opening onto the garden where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife. In the winter the cosy wood burner in the living room is a joy.

With three comfortable bedrooms, a lovely kitchen and separate dining room it’s the perfect cottage for a family get together at any time of year and of course your four-legged friend is well catered for in the large, enclosed garden. From Angerton Cottage you can walk or cycle along quiet country lanes or jump in the car and you are in the heart of the Lake District National Park within half an hour where you can enjoy more strenuous hikes or just take in the delights of the lakes and mountains and the lovely towns like Keswick and Windermere.

Ellerton Croft is a delightful country house set on a working farm in the heart of the beautiful Cumbrian countryside. Ellerton Croft has been completely renovated and upgraded in Spring 2022 and is the ideal place for all the family to get away and enjoy. Beautifully decorated throughout, the Sitting Room has patio doors opening onto the garden and for the chillier evenings there is a lovely woodburner. The large family kitchen/dining is the hub of the house where all the family can gather to enjoy a meal reminiscing over your day’s activities. Or why not just enjoy time chilling in the hot tub perhaps with a glass of wine!!
Ellerton Croft is ideally located and very easily accessed from both the north and the south making it the perfect place for friends to meet up and enjoy the beautiful Cumbrian countryside. From Ellerton Croft you can enjoy all the delights of the Lake District National Park from the majestic mountains to the glorious Lakes, the Eden Valley and Hadrian’s Wall as well as a trip over the border to Scotland. Close to the border city of Carlisle with its historic Castle and popular market town of Penrith with its many independent shops and restaurants.

Rivendell is a lovely home from home situated in the small hamlet of Beaumont on the Roman Wall walk; the perfect place from which to base yourself to discover and explore this unspoilt area of Cumbria. Rivendell has been refurbished in 2023 and is delightful.
On the ground floor, the large living room is bright and spacious with French doors leading to the garden. Also on the ground floor is the dining room which opens up from the living room, a very well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons to make your stay here enjoyable, and a cloakroom with toilet. Upstairs there are three bedrooms complemented by super comfy beds and all making the most of the lovely views out towards the Cumbrian fells in the distance. A family bathroom with spa bath and separate shower cubicle are also on the first floor.
Rivendell certainly will make your holiday here in Cumbria memorable. Beaumont is a small hamlet in rural Cumbria just 4 miles west of the historic city of Carlisle and convenient for visits to Scotland, the Lake District National Park, the Solway Plain, the Pennines, Northumbria and of course the historic Hadrian’s Wall Trail is on your doorstep. There are numerous local rural walks and nature reserves in the area, including Watchtree, a great family attraction close by. If cooking is not for you on holiday, take a short stroll to Monkhill and enjoy a meal in a multi-award-winning pub. There are picnic areas close by with views of the River Eden and a children’s play area with zip wire. If you don’t want to explore far from Rivendell, there is plenty to keep you occupied close by.

Set in a quiet, rural location, this barn conversion, adjacent to the owner’s home and set on a working beef farm, provides spacious holiday accommodation. It is full of character and charm, with original beams and exposed stonework throughout. Well-equipped, it is always warm and cosy, and has been tastefully furnished in a homely, cottage style, and also boasts a garden that looks out over lovely views. The property is set at the end of a private lane, yet Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall are only a short drive away. There are excellent links for those wishing to explore the Lake District, Newcastle and the Scottish Borders. The market town of Brampton is 5 miles away. Diamond Cottage is a beautiful former Joiner’s workshop located in the grounds of the gorgeous Corby Castle Estate. Named Diamond Cottage for its unusually shaped fenestrations, it is elegantly furnished throughout with kitchen/dining and bedroom on the ground floor and upstairs there is the living room and further bedroom. The bedrooms offer luxurious beds boasting quality linens and towels and are complemented by modern and sleek en-suites. Great Corby is a desirable and very pretty little village and has a well-regarded pub and a microbrewery where you can enjoy some fine ales all brewed on site. The village is beautifully placed above the River Eden where an impressive Victorian viaduct spans the river and provides pedestrian access to the nearby village of Wetheral. Diamond Cottage is the perfect location for exploring further afield. Enjoy a visit to Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Talkin Tarn is also a lovely day out where you can enjoy water sports on the Tarn and enjoy the lovely woodland walks. The delightful little market town of Brampton is close by where there are a mix of shops and restaurants and the Border city of Carlisle where you can enjoy high street shopping or cultural sites. Close to the Lake District National Park, the North Pennines and Scotland your location here at Diamond Cottage is superb.

Solway Marsh view is a delightful rural cottage attached to the owner’s farmhouse, yet is completely private. It boasts a cosy sitting room with a lovely wood burner, a spacious kitchen/dining room perfect for enjoying a home cooked meal in after a day spent exploring. Upstairs is a spacious master bedroom, a twin room with custom made bunk beds and a modern bathroom. Outside, Solway Marsh View has a secluded garden with the most delightful views over the River Eden onto the Lake District fells.
Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this lovely riverside cottage provides a comfortable, warm and cosy stay for people looking for a countryside retreat to relax and unwind in. From the garden you can walk out of the garden gate and straight onto the river side with access to walks not publicly available. Or take a 15-minute walk to the village pub which serves delicious food!
The Lake District, Solway Coast, historic Carlisle and the Scottish Borders with Gretna Green are within easy reach, and Carlisle train station is 15 minutes away. There are lots of beautiful walks on the doorstep, including Hadrian’s Wall a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can explore the history of the wall and its dramatic landscape at over 20 fascinating sites, as well as the coastal path (routes and directions can be provided). Due to its location on the banks of the River Eden and Solway Firth, it is a birdwatchers’ and animal enthusiasts’ paradise. From the garden or your bed you will both see and hear ducks, geese, swans and many other breeds of birds flying up and down the river onto the Solway Firth. Whilst you have the tranquillity at the property you are only minutes by car from the M6 thereby ideally placed to enjoy one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. From here you can not only enjoy the beauty of this area but also a quick drive will take you over the border into Scotland with its miles of dramatic coastline.
Whilst staying at Solway Marsh View explore the many delights of Cumbria, a must is a visit is the beauty of the Lake District National Park with its stunning mountains and lakes. Close by, of course, is the beautiful border city of Carlisle with its 12th-century cathedral and 11th-century castle, it’s a lovely city to explore and of course, great for a spot of retail therapy.
