The Coach House is a superbly equipped barn conversion situated on the edge of the delightful market town of Brampton. This quirky semi-detached property has an upside down layout with the spacious living/kitchen/dining area on the first floor. Everything has been thought of to ensure you have a relaxing stay, from the sumptuous beds with M&S feather pillows and duvet, and luxurious toiletries, to the cosy gas fire and large TV with over 200 DVDs in the sitting room, home from home in every sense of the word. The dining area has a 6-seater oak table as well as a selection of books. In 2018 the property was given a VisitEngland award of excellence. The awards celebrate the very best in English tourism, championing excellence in best practice and customer service. The property is decorated with a Christmas theme during the festive season, and also boasts convenient off road private parking for 2 cars on the drive in front of the barn gate.

Take a stroll into the centre of town and sample the many good restaurants and pubs. A must is a trip to Talkin Tarn Country Park, 2 miles from Brampton with its 65-acre lake set amidst 120 acres of farmland and woodland. The Tarn is an ideal place for recreation or a quiet stroll through the mature woodlands. No stay in Cumbria is complete without visiting Hadrian’s Wall, the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. It stretches 73 miles from Wallsend, Newcastle across the neck of England to the Solway in north west Cumbria. Within Cumbria are Banks Turret, near Brampton and Birdoswald Roman Fort a few miles away. Set in beautiful surroundings at New Mills Trout Fishing Park, why not try your hand at fly fishing? The lake is home to rainbow, tiger, blue and brown trout – probably the true fisherman’s ideal holiday destination. For the novice, try your hand at the fun fishing pond and bag yourself that ’I’ve caught my first fish’ experience, with all tuition and equipment provided. Also on-site to enjoy are giant games including Connect 4 and chess alongside a Fairy Trail and pond dipping, or simply visit the children’s play park and tackle shop. Lake View Cottage has a small patio area overlooking the fishery and boasts a private 34-jet hot tub for up to five guests. Enjoy the starry night sky while the warmth of the hot tub bubbles away. Another aspect perfect for socialising is the open-plan living space, seamlessly blending dining and quality time in one wholesome space. For additional comfort, both bedrooms invite you with zip and link beds, meaning flexible arrangements are offered ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep for friends and families alike.
The cottage is situated only 1 mile away from the picturesque market town of Brampton and further afield is the lovely city of Carlisle. Ullswater and the Northern Lakes are just over half an hour’s drive away. This is the ideal base for a holiday full of adventure and exploring, and no visit is complete without a visit to the famous Hadrian’s Wall. There are also lovely riverside walks close by. Bruno’s Bothy is detached and set in a peaceful location on a working farm in the heart of beautiful Cumbria. Angerton Cottage is a delightful country cottage set in beautiful countryside yet close to the many and varied attractions the area has to offer. Refurbished in 2021 Angerton Cottage is lovingly decorated and furnished throughout, a particularly favourite room at Angerton Cottage is the living room with patio doors opening onto the garden where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife. In the winter the cosy wood burner in the living room is a joy.

With three comfortable bedrooms, a lovely kitchen and separate dining room it’s the perfect cottage for a family get together at any time of year and of course your four-legged friend is well catered for in the large, enclosed garden. From Angerton Cottage you can walk or cycle along quiet country lanes or jump in the car and you are in the heart of the Lake District National Park within half an hour where you can enjoy more strenuous hikes or just take in the delights of the lakes and mountains and the lovely towns like Keswick and Windermere.

Enjoy a day exploring the area on foot. Whilst at Barn on the Wall take a walk down to Lanercost Priory where you can wander round the Priory then enjoy lunch or just a well-earned cup of tea in the tea rooms. Banks is a small Hamlet only 4 miles or so from the lovely market town of Brampton with its array of lovely little shops, restaurants, takeaways and tea rooms. A great day out for all the family is a visit to Talkin Tarn Country Park, just 2 miles from Brampton, with its 65-acre lake where you can sail, windsurf, canoe, or hire a rowing boat or even just sit all day fishing. Set amid 120 acres of farmland and woodland you can hire mountain bikes with the cycle routes taking you through beautiful countryside.
Take a drive out in the car and within 20 minutes you’ll be in the beautiful border city of Carlisle, with its array of high street shopping. Within 30 minutes you could be over the border into Scotland or in the Lake District National Park.
