    The Byres Tan is a ground floor apartment, the largest of the four, and has the flexibility to be able to sleep up to three guests in two comfortable bedrooms, so it is great for couples and families alike. The first features a kingsize bed, and TV and offers plenty of storage. The second is a single room with TV and a good level of free space. The apartment has been decorated and furnished beautifully throughout and being all on one level makes it ideal for guests who are less mobile or those with small children. The underfloor heating throughout gives a warm and cosy feel which is just what you need after a long day of sightseeing. The bathroom is contemporary and features a large shower cubicle, while the open plan feel of the living, dining and kitchen area give a feeling of space and a very convenient layout.
    The properties benefit from being only ¾ mile from a beautiful sandy beach which is perfect for a breath of fresh air and also good for exercising your four-legged friends. Dogs are welcome to come and stay and there is plenty of good walks locally. The centre of St Bees has an excellent selection of local pubs and restaurants and if you want to leave the car behind you can take the train to many local towns. St Bees station, a number of pubs, restaurants and the local convenience store are all within 200 yards of the property. The famous St Bees priory, dating back to the 11th century is well worth a visit and can be reached within a 5-minute walk. If you like outdoor adventure, including walking, cycling and climbing, you are surrounded by some amazing scenery and you are only a 10-mile drive from the Lake District National Park, your nearest lake is Ennerdale which is regarded as one of the most unspoilt and natural parts of the Lake District. It is teaming with wildlife including buzzards, red squirrels and osprey to name a few. If you want to climb the highest mountain in England you can reach Wasdale Head in just 18 miles, which gives you the shortest route to the summit of Scafell Pike. Or why not take a trip on the La’al Ratty which is a miniature steam railway along the South West Coast. For golfers, St Bees offers an excellent 9-hole links course. Beach ¾ mile.     The properties are located just 600 yards from the lake and are accessed along a quiet country lane. Loweswater is one of the smallest lakes in the Lake District with the village of Loweswater being set on the banks of the lake itself. Nestled in a wooded valley in The Vale of Lorton, it is the first link in a chain of lakes including Crummock Water and Buttermere. If you like to explore and enjoy walking, hiking, climbing or cycling, you have a vast expanse of natural Lakeland scenery to explore, including many of the 214 Wainwright peaks within easy reach. Some of the lower fells include Low Fell, Blake Fell and Gravel Fell to the west, with Mellbreak to the south and to the east. There are some more challenging routes around Grasmoor at 2,795ft. The area boasts beautiful flora and fauna as well as an abundance of wildlife including buzzards, kestrels, ospreys and red squirrels. A trip to Loweswater wouldn’t be the same without a trip to the local hostelry, 2 miles, famous for its great food and award winning beer, ’Loweswater Gold’.

    The surrounding area has many attractions and places to visit. The popular town of Cockermouth is just 7 miles away. With a delightful selection of independent shops, restaurants, coffee shops, delicatessens and pubs serving a variety of craft ales, it makes a great day out. It’s also the birthplace of William Wordsworth and home the famous Jennings Brewery, nestled beneath the castle walls. If you fancy a day at the seaside, you have a great beach at St Bees Head, 13 miles, with a long stretch of golden sand and plenty of great walking and cycling routes. For golfers there are a number of courses in the area, the nearest being Workington, 7 miles. Whinlatter Forest, 8 miles, has some gentle family cycling trails, or high adrenaline tree top adventure at Go Ape. Or continue along the Whinlatter Pass to Keswick, 12 miles, to find everything this bustling town has to offer. The Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, 11 miles, offers a really wild day out with over 100 species of wild animals.
