The Beach House at Whinthwaite is a fabulous seafront property with a hot tub in the coastal town of Seascale. Perfect for a family reunion, special celebration, or a large group holiday. With panoramic sea views, a train station nearby, easy access to the Lake District and the West Cumbrian Coast, you’ve got a perfect base for a memorable holiday with loved ones. It’s also perfect for walking or cycling groups. This stunning property sleeping up to eighteen guests features nine double bedrooms, a total of seven bathrooms, three kitchens, two living rooms, beautiful gardens, and some stunning original features. All the bedrooms are well furnished with comfortable beds, plenty of storage and hanging space, many come with sea views, seating, and vanity areas. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor, four on the first floor and two on the second floor. There’s a mixture of en-suite rooms and some floors have separate bathrooms. On the first floor you’ll find a comfortable games room with a pool table which converts into an air hockey table, along with table tennis which doubles over as a dining table! You’ll love the stunning dining room/conservatory with sea and garden views, but if you want the best views, head to the top of this stunning property, the sea views are amazing. The spacious, main living room on the ground floor is an excellent place to all get-together in front of the large open fire, it’s the dream on Christmas day to opening presents together and it’s a great social space to see the wine flowing while you catch up with your loved ones. There’s a kitchen on each floor, so you haven’t got to go far for a midnight snack or a cuppa and a utility room on the ground floor. At the rear you have an enclosed patio with outdoor furniture and private hot tub, perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying a glass of wine or a cold beer after a day of adventure, along with large lawned gardens with amazing sea views.
The Beach House at Whinthwaite is on the Cumbrian coast near Gosforth in the West Lakes, this delightful village near to the Eskdale and Wasdale valleys offers an excellent shop and several pubs. From here you have easy access to some of most picturesque and dramatic scenery this Cumbrian hotspot has to offer. The highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike is a short drive through the countryside with beautiful lakes and walking routes nearby, while Drigg beach and Sand Dunes is about a mile away. You have an excellent links golf course at Seascale just walking distance from The Beach House at Whinthwaite. Muncaster Castle is a 10-minute drive where you can tour the haunted castle, take in the birds of prey show and enjoy the stunning gardens. La’al Ratty, a narrow-gauge steam railway from Dalegarth to Boot. You can also enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and gyhll scrambling. The private off-road driveway accommodates two large cars comfortably or three smaller cars and there is substantial off-street parking in the village near the play park. Their beautiful enclosed rear garden is a great space for any children or family pets to play in there is even a private hot tub and outdoor living area and a large patio where you can relax and unwind with views of the beautiful countryside. Detached from the house is a large boot/Games room facility, perfect for kicking off muddy boots and coats, and a dog bath and shower for pampering your pooch after your days exploring, a professional darts board and a retro Nintendo games console. we have large Cosy blankets for nights sat under the stars, a drinks fridge, and recycling facilities.
The wonderfully welcoming owners have furnished the property with total guest comfort in mind and will be there to meet and greet you upon arrival. You will have the personal touch of them being on hand during your stay if you require, available to tailor your visit to your total satisfaction. E-bikes can also be booked before your arrival, by direct arrangement with the owners. The local area has an abundance of pubs, cafes, and a local shop/post office all only a short drive away. Langwathby train station is close by where you can ride the Carlisle to settle route, the cottage is also on the C2C route.
For busy days of exploration walking straight from Cherry Cottage, be sure to visit Lacy’s Caves, a series of five chambers carved out of the sandstone cliff, set along a beautiful walking route with views of the river and a wonderful garden to admire. Just a short walk from the village you can find Long Meg and her daughters, one of the finest stone circles in the north of England- ask the owners for its mythical and mysterious legend! These beautiful attractions can be enjoyed doing a circular walk.
If you are looking for activities to occupy the family, in the next village of Hunsonby there is an outdoor swimming pool open from April to September, and the village of Winskill has a large playground with zip wire to entertain our younger guests.

This stunning cottage is found in the quiet hamlet of Staffield, located in the wonderful Eden Valley, a tranquil part of Cumbria, close to both Carlisle and Penrith and also Hadrian’s Wall, the Northern Pennines, the western fringe of the Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders.
Staffield Cottage accommodates up to four guests, providing a great base for couples, small families or friends alike with a king size bed, and a zip and link twin bedroom, which can be made into an kingsize bed if needed.
Pooley Bridge and Glenridding at Ullswater is only a short drive away, with Keswick and Lake Derwent Water being only a short easy drive away from there. The picturesque unspoilt villages of Kirkoswald, Armathwaite, Lazonby and Great Salkeld are all close by and they each offer amenities for you to enjoy. Local shops and tea rooms, as well as great pubs and restaurants abound. From Staffield Cottage you can plan a multitude of activities to do from cycling to fishing, walking to ballooning. The choice is endless.

Angerton Cottage is a delightful country cottage set in beautiful countryside yet close to the many and varied attractions the area has to offer. Refurbished in 2021 Angerton Cottage is lovingly decorated and furnished throughout, a particularly favourite room at Angerton Cottage is the living room with patio doors opening onto the garden where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife. In the winter the cosy wood burner in the living room is a joy.

With three comfortable bedrooms, a lovely kitchen and separate dining room it’s the perfect cottage for a family get together at any time of year and of course your four-legged friend is well catered for in the large, enclosed garden. From Angerton Cottage you can walk or cycle along quiet country lanes or jump in the car and you are in the heart of the Lake District National Park within half an hour where you can enjoy more strenuous hikes or just take in the delights of the lakes and mountains and the lovely towns like Keswick and Windermere.

Wild Duck is a well presented, end-terrace cottage in the quiet village of Swarthmoor, located on the Furness peninsula. The open plan living space provides a comfortable and airy feel, with a large comfy sofa and armchair to relax in - the wood burner is the focal point and a warming welcome on those cooler evenings. A well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to start the day with a hearty breakfast or an evening meal, but with many excellent restaurants nearby you could be very easily tempted out for the evening. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms laid out over the first and second floor, with a good-sized family bathroom with bath and separate shower on the first floor. Young children have been well catered for, too, with a wicker crib, cot, toddler bed (as well as bedding for these) and a stairgate and highchair. Outside to the rear is a private and enclosed patio garden, a perfect place to have a drink and enjoy the sunsets on those long summer evenings with friends.
Located just on the outskirts of the popular town of Ulverston, 2 miles, home to many old pubs, restaurants, shops and a regular market, explore the many cobbled streets with small and interesting shops and historical architecture, it is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and the town’s Laurel and Hardy museum is well worth a visit.
Walkers will enjoy the start of the Cumbria Way from here, a relatively low level walk that follows paths and tracks along valleys and breathtaking passes. Nearby family attractions also include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Windermere, Coniston and a rewarding walk up Birkrigg Common with panoramic views over Morecambe Bay. Beach 3 miles. The beauty of this area is that it is so close to the Lakes and the coastal path is on your doorstep, with only a short walk to the RSPB St Bees Head Nature Reserve. Take a trip on the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature steam railway, known to the locals as the ’la ’al ratty’, or visit beautiful Muncaster Castle, home to the World Owl Centre. Whitehaven is only 5 miles away and is filled with popular restaurants and a world-famous port. You can visit the Beacon Museum there, which is bursting with history, there are Coast to Coast cycle routes, coastal walks and golf breaks all from this fabulous holiday home.
