This holiday cottage is spacious, yet intimate, and commands beautiful views of the countryside surrounding the peaceful village of Sheldon, only 3 miles from the market town of Bakewell. The oldest part of the cottage dates from 1800 and has been converted skilfully into a living room with tasteful furnishings, original beams, exposed stone walls and a large fireplace with a multi-fuel burner. There is a large dining area adjacent to the living room and a kitchen which leads into a south-facing conservatory, ideal for breakfast and relaxing. There is a downstairs toilet and utility area. Upstairs has three large double bedrooms (two with en-suite showers) and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a 6ft zip and link bed which can be used as a double bed or two single beds. The cottage has Sky TV and wi-fi internet access. Only a few steps from the main cottage is a games room and studio apartment. The large, heated games room has a pool table and table tennis table as well as a drying room for wet clothes and boots. Above the games room is the studio with sitting room and a double bedroom with en-suite. The sitting room has a sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only) and a TV. The cottage stands in an enclosed garden which has driveway parking for four vehicles, flower beds and two lawns. The larger lawn overlooks the nearby fields and hills, and is ideal for ball games. It adjoins a stone-flagged patio area with a built-in barbecue and outside table and chairs. Sheldon has a pub close to the cottage which is friendly and provides good food. The village is within easy reach of Bakewell and Ashford-on-the-Water, and is an excellent starting point for walking, exploring the countryside and visiting Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, the caves around Castleton and many other attractions in the Peak District. Woodside View is in the picturesque village of Longnor which is in the heart of the Peak District.
Sleeping up to seven guests in three bedrooms, the master having an en-suite. With an open fire in the living room, south facing garden and patio area with outdoor seating to enjoy the views. There is a local pub within a mile which serves real ale and good food. There is a well-stocked licensed general store, a post office which sells wonderful breads and preserves. Longnor has a fish and chip shop and a small, but delightful childrens park Woodside View is a haven for walkers and cyclists to explore the Tissington and High Peak cycle tracks.
Nearby is Buxton with its eventful Opera House, the Crescent Hotel which was recently opened boasting a 5-star spa and the pavilion Gardens, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within easy reach, along with numerous National Trust Properties, Parks and Gardens, and delightful historic market towns and villages.

Nestling in the stunning scenery of Goyt Valley this wing of the owner’s farmhouse retains many of its original features and beams. This spacious holiday accommodation, situated on a working farm, is in an ideal place to explore this lovely area, and is also in a conservation area, with walks from the doorstep. It is 1 mile from Whaley Bridge where you can stroll along the tow path to the Buxworth Basin or take a narrow boat trip. Whaley Bridge also has a train station to help explore if you want to leave the car behind. You could spend a day in Manchester and take in a show for the evening. 6½ miles away is the famous spa town of Buxton which also boasts an opera house and Pavilion Gardens. Book a day in the Dome Spa to relax or travel a little further and visit Chatsworth House and its amazing gardens and estate. Medieval Haddon Hall and the old market town of Bakewell is a must and you can travel through Winnets Pass to the charming village of Castleton with its famous caves where the Blue John stone is mined. Take a tour by boat through these caves and learn about the history of the people and how they mined them. Matlock Bath and Alton Towers make great days out for families. There are plenty of activities to enjoy locally including inhouse clay pigeon shooting lessons (at cost, by arrangement with owner) and there is also golf and horse riding located within 5 miles of the property. Situated in the pretty and popular Peak District village of Birchover, this stunning Grade II* listed, detached, Georgian house boasts great views over the local countryside and provides the perfect base to relax and enjoy this beautiful corner of England.
Bradley Hall, built in 1774, has retained many of its original features including fireplaces, flagstone and wooden floors, mullion windows and shutters. The ground floor comprises a kitchen/pantry with a gas range cooker and the dining room has a dining table to seat eight comfortably. A south-facing garden completes this lovely historic property, and also makes the ideal place for relaxing with a glass of wine or al-fresco dining in the warm, balmy summer evenings, since there also an outdoor table seating eight guests where you can dine in style. There is also a decked area complete with 8-seater hot tub and fire pit/pizza oven.
The village is ringed by rocks and tors and is set in one the of the most stunning parts of the Peak District, with two excellent pubs. Fantastic walking can be found from the doorstep and for nature lovers, there are great spots for birdwatching in the surrounding areas. For days out, the magnificent stately homes, including the beautiful Chatsworth House (8 miles) and Haddon Hall (4 miles) are an absolute must see, whilst a little further afield, but well worth a visit is Hardwick Hall (National Trust). For water sport enthusiasts, Carsington Water is within easy reach, with sailing, wind-surfing and canoeing all available.

Crawshaw Cottage is a modern and fresh holiday let, located within one of Buxton’s villages, Harpur Hill. As you arrive you will see how surrounded by countryside you are, and you can step into the fields from the doorstep.
On the ground floor of Crawshaw Cottage is an open-plan kitchen and diner with patio doors backing onto the lawned garden. The kitchen has everything in place for you to prepare a delicious meal which can be enjoyed around the dining room table, and there is also a sofa area here with a small TV. The sitting room offers ample seating to relax and enjoy a series or film on the Smart TV, a toilet is also available on the ground floor.
Upstairs are three bedrooms, the master is a kingsize bed with TV and an en-suite shower room, the second bedroom is made up of two twin beds which can be linked together to make a super-kingsize bed if requested, the third bedroom is a small room and only has a bunk bed with 4ft double on the bottom bunk and single bed on top. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside is a private garden which is enclosed and has garden furniture. You also have access to the garage where you can store bikes/luggage, and the driveway provides parking for one car but there is ample street parking directly outside as well.
Buxton has a lot to offer for holiday makers, there are countless walking routes close by such as Solomans Temple or hop in the car to Tissington or High Peak trail. Castleton is a short drive where you can walk or explore the caverns or take a trip to Chatsworth House. Buxton town centre has many delicious restaurants, pubs and bars as well as independent cafés, a 5* spa plus the opera house with shows on weekly. Alton Towers is a short 45 minute drive away. There is something for all the family in this great area of the Peak District. Pub within 1 mile.

It is a great social space too with a relaxing sofa area. The dining room is located in the conservatory with a large table to seat 8 people, two easy chairs, views of the garden and far-reaching views across Bakewell to the golf course and Manners Wood. There is a separate sitting room with electric feature fire, TV, sofa and easy chairs. The lower ground floor provides a separate area as a games room for the kids to have their own space, with a popular football table. On the first floor are two of the four bedrooms. The master bedroom features an en-suite shower room and a super kingsize bed which can be made up as twin beds on request. The family bathroom is also on the first floor and features a bath and a separate shower cubicle. Relatively steep stairs rise to the second floor with a landing providing access to two further bedrooms, one of which is super kingsize with a dual aspect, and far-reaching views which include the River Wye as it meanders through the town.

Every room within the property is finished to a standard of excellence. Outside, the property is approached via a driveway, providing access to a large, gravelled parking area with space for four cars and space to turn. To the side of the property is a lovely garden, ideal for sitting out during the morning, and a patio area immediately adjoining the conservatory with seating for 10 people.

Rock Mews is located just a short walk up from Bakewell town centre, within easy reach of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. There are magnificent views across the market town of Bakewell from all areas of the garden, and Rock Mews provides the perfect base within this popular Peak District town. From the town you can get onto the Monsal Trail, which is great for cycling as well as walking. If you haven’t got any bikes, bike hiring is available on the trail at Hassop café. Neighbouring towns such as Buxton and Matlock are lovely places to visit and explore, both offering their own independent characters, and of course not to be missed are nearby Chatsworth House and Gardens and Haddon Hall, both within 5 minutes’ drive of Bakewell.

Bakewell is the largest town in the Peak District National Park and is the perfect base from which to explore everything that this beautiful part of the country has to offer. Skye House itself is located just a short 10-minute walk from Bakewell town centre.

Head up a flight of steps to the front door where you enter the hallway of this beautiful home, finished to a high, modern standard. The property offers two lounges, the first main lounge leads off from the kitchen and has a Smart TV, the second lounge is classed as the snug with dark interiors, a wood burner and a Smart TV making it a lovely cosy spot to enjoy the evening together with friends and family. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all the appliances you should require during your stay such as dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and Nespresso coffee maker and there is a large dining table with chairs and bench ensuring there is ample space for all guests to enjoy a meal together. The boot room which contains a downstairs toilet has a door to the rear path making it the ideal entrance after a day’s walking and is perfect for storing muddy boots and walking gear. For those guests who have brought their dog the owners have provided a dog bath with a hot and cold dog shower so there is no need to worry about muddy paws.

On the first floor are three of the four bedrooms, these include a super king zip and link which can be made into two twin beds on request, a double bedroom, and a twin room with and Xbox for younger guests to enjoy. The family bathroom is located on the first floor with a bath and separate shower. On the second floor is the fourth and final bedroom with a super king zip and link bed, plus a pull out small since bed suitable for a child if this is required. The second bathroom is situated on the second floor with a bath with a shower attachment. Outside there is a lovely garden area which includes a pergola where you can sit and enjoy the view over fields. There is a raised patio area with high quality, comfortable furniture with sunshade and a BBQ so you can relax and enjoy dinning alfresco whilst watching the sheep in the field behind. Behind the house there is an additional bistro set located in the perfect spot to catch the early evening sun.
Parking for the property is roadside directly opposite the house with additional unrestricted parking slightly further up the road.

Leave the car behind and explore Bakewell itself with its quaint and classic shop fronts and many independent shops. Visit the famous Bakewell pudding shop or any of the many other cafes, restaurants, and pubs that Bakewell has to offer. Take a stroll along the River Wye which runs through the centre of the town and walk over the love lock bridge. Bakewell has a popular market every Monday and a farmers’ market one Saturday a month.

The picturesque towns of Matlock and Buxton are easily accessible from Bakewell. Bakewell is also the perfect base to visit Chatsworth House including its farmyard and playground for younger visitors, the farm shop and formal gardens. Haddon Hall is also 10 minutes’ drive away. For keen walkers you are perfectly located to access both the white and dark peak areas of the National Park. For the less adventurous there are local walks that can be done from the house including the Monsal trail which runs along the old Matlock to Buxton railway line and now is flat, car free walking and cycling route.
