Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

The accommodation at Bee Keepers cottage is spaced over a single storey and offers light, bright accommodation with beautiful gardens and views of the rolling Derbyshire countryside.

Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Crich tramway museum are a short drive away. Local towns include Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. Derby and Nottinghamshire are a 20-minute drive.

The location is popular with walkers who enjoy the beautiful walks and trails straight from the doorstep.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

These large attractive properties, situated in the grounds of the owner’s home, are just off a track in peaceful countryside, yet close to many amenities. Stenson Hill Farm can accommodate the largest family party, with own snooker room and attractive conservatory providing the dining area for the whole party and a lawned garden and large patio, whilst Stenson Lodge accommodates the slightly smaller group and has an attractive lawned garden overlooking the owner’s aviary with exotic birds. Both enjoy views over surrounding farmland and boast built-in barbecues. There are many attractions around with Calke Abbey and Derby with its theatres, clubs and restaurants within a 15 minute drive, whilst Ashbourne and Dovedale are 15 miles. Well worth a day out for any family or group are Matlock Bath, 20 miles, Alton Towers, 22 miles and Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, a comfortable drive away. With eco-friendly instant heating, a cosy wood burner and well-furnished throughout, it offers an open plan living/kitchen/dining area, and a separate en-suite bedroom. There is a private off-road parking, bike store, a courtyard garden with feature lighting and an original ancient cheese press and a new second garden with beautiful views. Bailey’s Barn is well set up with a heated cupboard for drying coats and boots and an outside tap for washing wellies and dogs. There are hundreds of miles of trails which start straight from the barn, it is an ideal opportunity to park-up, put the car keys away and just relax! Bailey’s Barn is a great base from which to explore the beauty and majesty of the region’s peaks, dales and rivers. With its own quirky traditions such as Bonsall Carnival, International Hen Racing Championships, ancient buildings and History Trails, Bonsall itself is a delightful find with two pubs and a lovely tearoom all within half a mile or so. Famous for its magnificent, 14th-century church, known as ’The Cathedral of the Peak’, Tideswell is a large village set in the midst of glorious countryside. With its dog friendly reputation, it makes an excellent base with traditional pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, delicatessens, butchers, and even a local supermarket. Throughout the year events are held such as the Tideswell Food Festival in May, and Well Dressings and Wakes Week in late June to early July.

There are some stunning walks through Tideswell Dale, where there is a nature reserve that leads out onto the Monsal Trail, a popular Peak District walking and cycling trail. The Limestone Way also passes through, and with it heading south can take you all the way to Rocester on the Staffordshire border, or north to the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton and Mam Tor, which is around 7 miles away. The ever popular market town of Bakewell is home to the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, and can be reached in around 15 minutes, as can Buxton with its Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. For those thrill seekers, Matlock and its stunning cable car ride can be reached in around 30 minutes, and the UK’s biggest amusement park, Alton Towers, is around 45 minutes. Nestled in the sleepy village of Cutthorpe, in the heart of Derbyshire, you can explore the Peak District National Park within a few minutes drive. With open countryside views to the front and beautiful fields to the rear, Cutthorpe village is semi-rural and home to the fabulous Linacre Reservoirs, which are surrounded by fields and bluebell woods which provide many walking trails for all abilities. Cutthorpe benefits from three local pubs, each of which serve food, and there is a whole host of attractions within easy travelling distance. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle can all be reached in less than 30 minutes, as can the towns of Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, Chesterfield and even the city of Sheffield. For the energetic, Carsington Water has cycling routes and sailing available, and can be reached in around 45 minutes. For those bigger thrills, Alton Towers can be reached in around an hour. Directly from the property you can enjoy stunning country walks in many different directions, including an ever popular hike up to the Lumsdale Falls making this the ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors. Bring your bikes and enjoy the off road cycling tracks for those who like exploring on two wheels.

Matlock Bath is a well known resort on the River Derwent. Visit the popular Heights of Abraham cable cars, enjoy fish and chips, and numerous entertainments throughout the year. The Matlock Bath illuminations and firework display are especially popular in autumn bringing in the crowds and lighting up the sky. A little further afield, Chatsworth House and Bakewell provide a wonderful day out, exploring the local businesses that line the streets. The location and property really are second to none and the perfect place for a break at any time of the year.

Carr View (Ref UK36953) is one of two holiday properties finished to an extremely high standard and the owner takes great pride in ensuring you have the perfect stay. On the ground floor you will enter into the boot room, which has a neatly placed washing machine in a cupboard, kick your boots off and enter into the beautifully designed open plan kitchen which has all you need to enjoy your self-catering holiday with the dining room which has ample seating for six guests made up of chairs and a bench. The living room is very cosy with comfy sofas and an electric wood burner to bring a wonderful sense of relaxation to the room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all with zip and link beds that can be made into twins on request, the master bedroom has a slightly larger bed and an en-suite. The family bathroom carries the same quality as the rest of the house and has been done beautifully, with walk in shower and bath.
Outside is a garden with a patio area and lawn, perfect to watch the sun rise and set. There is also a river running through the site, and a lake giving the opportunity for some cold water wild swimming!
The helpful owners, that live on-site, are on hand should you need anything, and provide luxury towels, complimentary toiletries, a welcome pack and even a Christmas tree for holidays throughout December.
There are electric car charging points just 5 minutes away in The Anglers Rest pub car park, and just 10 minutes away in the Hope village car park.
The location of this property offers seclusion with many fantastic countryside walks from the doorstep and a National Cycle Route nearby, so you wouldn’t really need to take the car. Or alternatively, a short drive into Castleton to visit the caves or venture into nearby towns of Bakewell and Buxton. Absorb the life of a working farm in the Peak District by visiting the cows, watching the lambs play and the chickens from the dining room window. This property really is the perfect base to explore the Hope Valley region of the Peak District, and close by is garden centre with café, a pottery and bike hire. Two pubs within 1 mile.

You’ll find lots of useful doggy extras, and as an added bonus by prior arrangement with the owner there is even an outdoor area on site where you can let your dogs have a run around stress free. A short walk will take you into the small friendly town of Whaley Bridge where you’ll find food serving pubs, some dog friendly, cafés and restaurants. 5 minutes the other way is the famous Buxwoth Basin and pub.
