The East Lancashire Railway line, famous for its historic steam trains, runs through Rawtenstall, which is only 4 miles from Courtyard Cottage.
Entering the property from the allocated parking area you will find a modern open plan design on the ground floor level. With a cosy lounge allowing plenty of space for everyone! Benefitting from contemporary sofas, a TV and a small dining area. This really sets the scene for a cosy night in or a place to rest and plan your day’s activities. A well-equipped kitchen awaits you with plenty of storage and cooking facilities including an oven, hob and microwave. Wander through to find two bedrooms with storage facilities, and a bathroom which benefits from a bath with shower over, low level toilet and pedestal wash hand basin. Outside to the rear of the cottage you benefit from a spacious garden with outdoor furniture perfect for a bistro style breakfast in the sun! Located in the rural hamlet of Moss Side on the outskirts of wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham, this wonderful complex of six holiday cottages provide a perfect base for friends and family alike wanting a fabulous seaside getaway. Newly renovated in 2022 they’re set around a pretty courtyard and surrounded by superb countryside despite being just 3 miles from the coast.
There’s a variety of single and two-storey cottages all comfortably accommodating four guests, plus an additional three bedroom cottage that comes complete with hot tub. Careful thought and design has gone into each of the conversions making great use of original features where possible. Large windows have also been included to many of the open plan living arrangements to ensure a bright and airy space, and to really make the most of the countryside views.
The centre of ‘Leafy Lytham’ is less than 3 miles away, or a 4 minute train journey from Moss Side station which is around a 10 minute walk. Lytham is a lovely seaside town where you can enjoy everything from fish and chips to fine dining plus lots of coffee shops. It’s famed for its iconic ‘Windmill on the Green’, as well as the annual Lytham Festival and Lytham Proms. A direct train service will also take you to neighbouring St Annes in 10 minutes where you’ll find a huge beautiful sandy beach, and then in 20 minutes you’ll reach Blackpool. Blackpool is home to a massive amount of tourist attractions including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, the Sandcastle Water Park, SEA LIFE Blackpool and of course the annual illuminations light show.
For any golfers, there’s plenty of championship courses in the area and the reeds and marshes of the Ribble Estuary are popular with birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. Swapping the coast once more for countryside, slightly further afield the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South Lakes can be reached within an hour. Beach 5 miles. Great thought and consideration have gone into the design of the accommodation to ensure guest satisfaction throughout, and includes modern day conveniences such as underfloor heating, motorised electric blinds, smart TVs, wireless charging and electric vehicle charging points. The living space is open plan and sociable by design, boasting floor to ceiling windows and opens out onto a large, decked area with simply spectacular views. Offering a rare and relaxing holiday experience the chalets are located on a quiet country lane and surrounded by a ten-acre field. Dependent on the tide there’s the potential to watch sail and speed boats, and local wildlife is plentiful with deer, hares, swans and geese frequenting the site. Each chalet offers ground floor accessible accommodation with ramp access, wide external and internal doors, a twin bedroom with profiling bed bed with an en-suite wet room. A reduced height basin with integrated grab handles, increased WC height and a folding shower door allow greater access. If required, furniture raisers, a shower chair, toilet chair, tilt in space shower chair and a mobile hoist can be provided upon request at time of booking.

From the moment you drive through the electric gates towards Oakenclough House you won’t be disappointed. Newly built in 2022 and 2023 they are larger than average and even boast a kingsize bed. Accessed via a footpath from the owner’s main house, they’ve been beautifully decorated with wonderful attention to detail.
