The ground floor comprises of a small but adequate kitchen with dishwasher and all the equipment you should require. The sitting room offers comfortable seating, TV and wood burner effect electric fire, there is also a dining table and chairs. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor with shower over bath. Upstairs are two bedrooms, the master offering a double bed and the second bedroom has two singles. Outside there is an outhouse storing washing machine/tumbler and sink. There is parking for 1 car and an open patio area with outdoor furniture and BBQ overlooking the village.
Taddington village is in the heart of the Peak District and it has a great pub serving fantastic food within walking distance of the property. You can head out on foot on endless walks or explore the local towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Chatsworth plus lots more!

Nestled in the award-winning largest inland marina in Europe this really is the perfect base to explore all that the local area has to offer. Why not take advantage of the Boardwalk, a promenade of 6 boutique retailers, centred around a fabulous two storey bar and restaurant. From here you front onto a raised wooden walkway offering terrific views of the water, boats, and wildlife. You will also discover a sensory garden at the end of The Boardwalk to sit and relax and watch the world go by. Close by Findern is a lovely village situated about six miles west of Derby. The village green is overlooked by All Saints Parish Church where a carved semi-circular stone or ’tympanum’ discovered when the previous Norman Church was demolished in 1862, is preserved. Also close by is Willington with
its station and shops.
There are great walks in the area, and It is a great base to explore the Peak District with its market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne, as well as its many pretty villages. Also, the National Trust properties of Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall and Sudbury Hall with its museum of childhood are all within 10 miles. A little further is the National Trust owned Hardwick Hall, and the Duke of Devonshire’s Chatsworth Estate with its annual country fair and Adventure Farm for children. The National Memorial Arboretum and the rich heritage of Burton-on-Trent with its fantastic National Brewery Centre Museum is just down the road. You can also venture into the National Forest with the award-winning Conkers attraction just 10 miles away, plus Castle Donnington racetrack is just 20 minutes’ drive and Alton Towers is 30 minutes’ away. The town is developing into the most popular destination in the Peak District with many fantastic restaurants, bars and cafes as well as a great mix of shops. Walk to the centre of Ashbourne in under 10 minutes or around the corner from the property is a convenient Co-op, Greggs and a fabulous independent eatery called Preston’s which have great coffee or wine and cheeseboards on offer!

The Haven Lodge is a tranquil lodge located in Mayfield, Ashbourne. You are within close proximity of a shop and the busy local pub which serves delicious home made meals. Recently transitioned into a holiday home this lodge offers cosy, self-catering accommodation for two. Made up of a living area and dining area which has comfortable sofas and TV, a kitchenette with everything you should need for your stay, a shower room and a double bedroom. Outside the property is a private and secure garden area with decking. There is a private entrance and two car parking spaces available.
Ashbourne is a fantastic town, offering an array of restaurants, pubs and cafés plus local shops. There are ample walks and trails from the town to explore, plus Alton Towers theme park being a short 15-minute drive away. The Haven is the perfect couples’ retreat to experience a little piece of tranquillity and relaxation within this great town.

This fantastic Grade II listed farm house building is bursting with character. It is spacious and has social rooms to be enjoyed, plus extensive gardens with beautiful views down the valley. The ground floor of this home offers a typical farmhouse style kitchen with traditional Rayburn and dining table in the centre of the room, there is an electric/gas range cooker also available, plus everything else you should need to cook up a great meal for all. There is a dining room, a sitting room with a wood burner, a further living room with a TV and an extensive DVD selection, a utility with additional fridge and freezer space, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus hanging space to dry clothes. There are also two downstairs toilets, plus a double bedroom. On the first floor are the remainder of the bedrooms, one having an en-suite. Tissington has a lot to offer; it is the home of the well-dressing event, Tissington Hall, and the Tissington Trail is one of the best walking and cycling routes in the Peak District. Another fantastic walk from Tissington is to Dovedale, where the famous Dovedale stepping stones are. Alton Towers is a 25 minute drive which makes a great day out for all the family. This truly is a fantastic property to return back to after you have finished exploring for the day.

Swallows is an idyllic barn conversion within Brook Farm and offers cosy and comfortable accommodation to sleep two guests.

The village of Middle Mayfield is set amidst stunning scenery and is only a short distance from the lovely market town of Ashbourne with its interesting streets and cobbled alleys. It also features antique shops and a fabulous choice of pubs and restaurants for all to enjoy.
At the southern end of the Peak District National Park you will be spoilt for things to fill your day. The nearby Dove and Manifold Valley provide a peaceful place to enjoy, whilst kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and cycling are all available at Carsington Water. For the thrill seekers amongst you, the renowned Alton Towers theme park is well worth a visit. Nearby you will discover many historic houses such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and of course let’s not forget the market town of Bakewell, famous for its delicious pudding. Johnnygate Grange is perfectly placed in the grounds of the wonderful Barlow Woodseats Hall which dates to the Norman conquest and was rebuilt in 1624. The house was the first marital home of Bess of Hardwick who later went on to build Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House, both of which are nearby and a must to visit. It now offers guests five characterful en-suite bedrooms, an attractive sitting room with original features and a spacious open plan kitchen and dining area, perfect for family and friends to gather in and enjoy.
Take time to explore the local surroundings, where you will find places to eat ranging from pub food to fine dining. Close by are many outdoor sports including walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing and clay pigeon shooting. The bustling market town of Chesterfield is nearby, packed with plenty of independent shops for a spot of retail therapy, as well as the local markets where you can browse specialist stores and local produce. Explore the impressive 14th-century church, renowned for its crooked spire. Or head to the lush Queens Park where you can savour a homemade picnic next to the lake, before taking a stroll where you will pass the summer bandstand, a museum and theatre, which frequently hosts live performances.
Just a little further is Matlock, home to the Pic Tor War Memorial which boasts impressive views at its top. Here you can hop aboard a vintage steam train on the Peak Rail and see the sights, or venture into the skies in an alpine-style cable car at the Heights of Abraham, where you can enjoy cavern tours and a fossil museum. Nearby is Matlock Bath and Matlock Farm Park which offers a great selection of activities for the kids, including the Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade and the fun-filled Gulliver’s Kingdom theme park.

This beautiful detached barn conversion has been charmingly renovated, retaining and working with many original features where possible. Tastefully furnished to a very good standard throughout, the open-plan living and kitchen area with its stunning beamed vaulted ceiling creates a warm and cosy social environment. Located on the owners grounds, thoughtful additional extras can be provided at the owners discretion where possible making the full stay an extra special experience. These can include provision of a breakfast pack, special occasion pack, a cooked breakfast in the main house, or a cooked evening BBQ, which is available on request. Extra costs payable direct to the owner apply where food is provided, however the immaculately maintained gardens as shown to the public as part of Barlow Open Gardens can be dressed and lit at no extra cost. The zen area and outdoor fire can be lit once during your stay upon request. This area is available at the owners discretion. Please note this area is not available if the owners are not present.
The Barn is conveniently located 115 steps away from The Peacock at Barlow bar and restaurant offering the best views around, as well as just 80 steps away from The Hackney House Cafe and gift shop which serves a hearty breakfast and is renowned in the area for its home cooking. The Barn at Woodland View can be found in the small Derbyshire hamlet of Barlow. Most famous for its well dressings, the village uniquely has 3 wells, which the villagers decorate and round the occasion off with a carnival weekend. On the edge of the Peak District National Park, the area is home to excellent walking and with a host of attractions available in the vicinity. The large market town of Chesterfield famous for its crooked spire is just 15 minutes away, and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall are around 20 minutes. The ever-popular Bakewell and Hathersage in the heart of the Hope Valley are also around 20 minutes and the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton and wonderfully historic plague village of Eyam are around half an hour. Matlock, with its cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham is also around 30 minutes, Edale, home to the start/finish of the Pennine Way and the spa town of Buxton can be reached in 45 minutes. Shop 2¼ miles, pub and restaurant 0.1 mile.

Woodlands Barn is a bungalow offering excellent accommodation for up to four guests and one large dog or two small ones. The property is private and has an outstanding view across the village of Chinley and surrounding Peak District hills. Previously a stable, this property has undergone extensive renovations in 2023 and is light and finished to a very good standard. As you arrive at the long private drive, you will find a designated parking area for two vehicles; there is also a secure bike store and an EV charger available (at additional cost by arrangement with the owners). At the top of the driveway you will find a patio area at the front of the property with outdoor furniture and chiminea; it is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee whilst planning your exciting day ahead, or at the end of the day light the chiminea and enjoy a glass of your favourite wine.
Step into the bungalow and you are into the kitchen where there is a utility section offering washing machine, doggy cupboard plus an iron and ironing board. The kitchen has all the equipment and appliances you should need as well as a dining table with four chairs positioned perfectly to take in the views. The living room is comfortable with ample furniture, Smart TV, and an electric wood burner.
There is a kingsize bedroom with an en-suite shower room; this bed can be made into a twin upon request. The second bedroom is also kingsize and there is a separate family shower room. Views can be enjoyed from every room (please note that there is a signal mast on site, but this is positioned behind the property and can only be seen from the bottom of the driveway and the parking area).
Woodlands Barn is located in the village of Chinley, which has a lot to offer with two great pubs within walking distance as well as an Indian restaurant, convenience store, launderette, pharmacy, post office, fish and chip shop and two cafés. Train links take you into Sheffield or Manchester city centre, and very popular village of Edale is on this line. Locally there are some great walking or cycling routes as well so take your bikes on the train and cycle back. Immediate walks from the property is the adjacent Cracken Edge to Kinder Scout and South Head.
A short drive from the property is the Spa town of Buxton which has great shops, restaurants, Pooles Cavern and Buxton Opera House hosting shows weekly. Visit Castleton where you can explore the underground caves in a boat or visit Chatsworth House and Gardens or Lyme Park for a historic day out at these beautiful stately homes. There are ample of things to do and explore in this area making for a fun-filled Peak District holiday.
