    Thatched Cottage is a spacious detached six bedroom property for 12 guests and is suitable for a large family or a group of friends. It is a beautifully furnished converted restaurant set within the town of Kingsteignton, 2 miles from Newton Abbot and 1 mile from Newton Abbot racecourse. Spend some time unwinding in the open plan living and dining area on the ground floor which is light, airy and has plenty of room and home comforts for everyone to spread out. Perfect for a relaxing evening indoors when you’re not out exploring the delights of the local area. Next door, the kitchen is well equipped to prepare a family dinner. It is perfect for socialising whilst cooking a home-cooked meal. From the living room three steps lead down to a separate games room area which houses a pool table, a bar with stools, a gaming fruit machine (which is free to use with no prizes), a dart board, a 40” Smart TV with Freeview and Netflix. Upstairs are 6 bedrooms each with a Freeview Smart TV with Netflix. The enclosed walled garden is great for pets and it features a 5-seater hot tub, a barbecue, 2 picnic benches on the lawn plus a small patio area with a bench, great for enjoying your morning coffee.

    Kingsteignton has a choice of shops, pubs, a variety of eateries and sporting facilities, and the nearby towns and villages offer a variety of attractions. Nearby Newton Abbott can be reached from the doorstep along the walking and cycling path which takes you through the Hackney Marshes nature reserve. The ancient market town offers plenty of local shops, high street chains and supermarkets. There’s also a racecourse where National Hunt racing takes place from spring until autumn, with craft fairs during the winter.

    There are a number of beaches within easy driving distance including Teignmouth, Torquay and Paignton, which also has a zoo. Spend a day on the beach building sand castles and walk the impressive Victorian Pier at Teignmouth. Enjoy the stunning beaches around Torquay and the many hidden coves such as Meadfoot, Oddicombe, and further afield, the pretty Ness Cove. And of course, the South West Coast Path provides stunning seascapes across the bay, with a popular stretch from Torquay Harbour to Daddyhole Plain.

    The Dartmoor National Park is nearby with rugged and stunning scenery where you can enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding, climbing and canoeing. You can see the ponies, walk the Tors or simply stop off in one of the many villages for a Devon cream tea. For the children, there is Crealy Adventure Park or Go Ape in Haldon. There are many cycle ways off road, including Powderham Castle where there is a cycle track along the estuary.     The Black Barn is a superb holiday home situated on a quiet rural lane in the pretty South Devon village of Marldon, just a short 10-minute drive from Paignton and numerous nearby beaches. This luxurious and striking five-bedroom detached, 2022 new build can accommodate up to ten guests and is extremely spacious. It is stylish and has underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, a hot tub, gym, cinema, open plan living and eco-friendly solar panels and air source heating. The perfect base for friends to get together for a special occasion or a family holiday.
    As you head inside, you will be welcomed into the open plan kitchen and dining area which is well equipped with everything needed to prepare a homecooked meal. The space feels warm and inviting with its large island worktop, breakfast bar seating and bi-folding doors opening out into the garden. There’s also a handy utility room and a shower room leading off the kitchen. The living room is comfortably furnished with plenty of electric reclining seating, a Sky Smart TV with Freeview, and a wood burner. The ground floor also features its very own gym with a treadmill, exercise bike, rowing machine and a Sky Smart TV with Freeview. Next door is a super kingsize zip and link bedroom which can be set up as twin beds if requested.
    Head upstairs to the first floor where you will discover the other four double bedrooms, three of which are en-suite. The master kingsize bedroom has been lavishly furnished with a dressing area, TV and an en-suite with a slipper bath tub and a shower, offering the choice of a relaxing soak or a refreshing shower. The cinema room accessed via a secret bookcase door adds the wow factor with plenty of plush seating and a large projector screen with a Skybox.
    The beautiful south-facing garden offers plenty of space to explore with its large lawn, patio area, garden furniture, pond, trampoline, and a 5-seater hot tub. It’s very likely you will spot plenty of wildlife in the distance.
    The quaint village of Marldon is based just a few miles inland from the resorts of Torbay and within easy reach of the town of Totnes. Nearby there are several National Trust properties, including Compton Castle, Berry Pomeroy Castle and Cockington Court. If you are seeking quiet beaches away from the crowds, Maidencombe and Broadsands are great choices, offering secluded coves and the coastal town of Paignton is a great destination for a day of fun in the sun. Head to Paignton Beach and the pier with tenpin bowling, fairground rides and crazy golf while admiring the sea vistas. Pay a visit to Paignton Zoo, Torre Abbey, Dinosaur World and Torquay Museum, which are all within a short distance of each other, so you can visit all of them before strolling along the waterfront in the coastal town of Torquay.
