Haworth is a charming village located in the Worth Valley, West Yorkshire, England. It is renowned for its connection to the famous Brontë sisters, who lived in the area during the 19th century and wrote some of their most celebrated works here. The village has a rich literary history, and you can explore the Brontë Parsonage Museum to learn more about the lives and works of these remarkable writers. Haworth is known for its cobbled streets, historic buildings, and traditional Yorkshire charm. You can stroll through the village and discover quaint shops, cafés, and local pubs serving traditional Yorkshire ales and hearty meals. For nature lovers, the Worth Valley offers breathtaking landscapes and scenic walking trails. West View Farm provides comfortable accommodation for up to eight guests within four bedrooms. Ideally situated in the quiet hamlet of Hainworth, one mile south from Keighley in West Yorkshire. West View Farm provides everything you need to enjoy your time away. Entering the property, you are greeted by an allocated area to store your muddy boots and coats with a lovely decorative fire. Wander through to find a large games room benefitting from a multi-game table to enjoy and make memories. On this floor you can also find a toilet and a utility room with a washing machine and fridge/freezer.
Wander upstairs to find an open living room with a gas fire, a small step to a dining area. The lounge benefits from sumptuous sofas and two chairs. Enjoy the warmth of the fire as your favourite show or movie plays out on the TV after a long day exploring the area. Your fully fitted kitchen awaits you providing everything you need to rustle up those home-cooked meals with a gas hob and electric oven, fridge and microwave. Either eat in the adjacent dining room or the conservatory is a great place to host breakfast and soak up the views of the garden and rolling countryside views. Alternatively, when the sun is shining you could have a barbeque on the sheltered patio. Don’t fancy cooking? Why not treat yourself at one of the local pubs, restaurants or cafés, all within a mile.
When sleep calls, you have four bedrooms to choose from situated on the first floor, where you can sink onto the bed and rest your head, reset ready for an action-packed day ahead. There is one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room; one twin room; a kingsize room; and a room with bunk beds, all providing plenty of storage for your belongings during your stay. The family bathroom can also be found on the first floor benefitting from a bath and a separate shower and wash hand basin.
A couple of miles away is the town of Haworth, known for its links with the Bronte sisters; here you will find the Bronte Parsonage Museum, Bronte Waterfall and the famed walking trail of Bronte Way. It has Victorian buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants, plus close by is the National Trust-owned East Riddlesden Hall and many walking routes in the area. Catch a ride on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and travel on steam or diesel trail through the surrounding countryside and villages, made famous as locations for the filming of ‘The Railway Children’. Venture to the idyllic market town of Skipton and uncover the gateway to the Dales, before continuing to Hebden Bridge, famously used in the filming of the popular BBC series ‘Happy Valley’. Within reach by car is the popular town of Harrogate, a historic town filled with attractions for the whole family, and the inviting spa town of Ilkley.

There are significant landmarks locally in the region from Cannon Hall Farm; Emley Tower, Wentworth Woodhouse, the National Coal Mining Museum, and the home of Emily Bronte, to Art Exhibitions, ski slope, local festivals, Cawthorne (an historic village), well-manicured gardens and countryside walks, to name a few. In under an hour, you can be in Harrogate, York, Chatsworth, or Sheffield. Beneath the quiet exterior of country living beats a heart of choral tradition, cycling and rambling for nature lovers, coffee shops and fascinating places to visit.

This beautiful stone-built cottage offers a comfortable stay in the charming World Heritage Site of Saltaire, which is full of history, character and stunning architecture. The village is named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill, known as Salts Mill and this village on the River Aire back in the 1800s. There are many reasons why you should visit Saltaire from the spectacular architecture as you wander around the village, to the independent shops and restaurants scattered around the village. There is world class art on display at Salts Mill with one of the largest collections of David Hockney’s, and all surrounded by countryside and moors.
Bronte country is also nearby, offering lots of wonderful walking routes across the moors and, for those keen on cycling, why not try a section of the Tour de France route that runs through Keighley and Haworth? For a more relaxing way to explore the area, hop on the Worth Valley Steam Train from Keighley Station, which takes you on a 5-mile journey through the Haworth moors and on to Oxenhope, once home to the Bronte sisters. The village of Haworth, 8 miles, is well worth a visit with its pretty cobbled streets lined with bunting and old-fashioned windows giving you a glimpse of the wares within. There is an array of antique shops, independent bookstores, pavement cafés and restaurants, plus the Bronte Parsonage Museum.
The market town of Skipton, also known as ‘The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, 15 miles, is another great day out and can be easily accessed by the train station located at the end of the road, with its tempting selection of bars and restaurants, a medieval castle and bustling street markets. You can also take a stroll along the Leeds & Liverpool canal that runs through, or simply watch the barges chug through from a bar overlooking the water. The only issue you will have is trying to fit everything in so why not book a few extra days? Pub 1 mile.

A spacious and detached cottage, set out over one level, it is surrounded by beautiful wild gardens which extend into woodland thereby offering privacy and seclusion. Set in the Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park the surrounding magnificent countryside is most familiar as the back drop to the great British sitcom ’Last of the Summer Wine’. It is perfect for walking and cycling, with keen cyclists able to recreate routes used in the Tour de Yorkshire. A 10-minute walk down hill will take you to vibrant Holmfirth, home to shops, bars, cafés and restaurants in abundance, however a word to the wise, the roads back including the driveway to the cottage are steep and not for the faint hearted. Digley Reservoir and Holmfirth Vineyard are both around a 10-minute drive from the property and further afield you’ll find attractions for all interests within easy reach. These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

Dating back to the 17th Century, Hob Cote is a superb semi-detached stone built cottage in a peaceful and picturesque location just 1-mile from artsy Hebden Bridge. Completely renovated throughout in 2021, the cottage and surrounding grounds are simply stunning and come complete with private hot tub. Inside you’ll find beamed ceilings, an impressive stone fireplace boasting a wood burner and stylish wooden panelling to the walls. The three bedrooms are beautifully decorated and super comfortable, which with the peaceful surroundings guarantee a great night’s sleep.
Outside the grounds are delightful and offer stunning far reaching views. To the front you’ll find a south facing patio complete with a Lazy Susan garden set, perfect for sociable meals. To the rear however is the real pièce de resistance. As you step outside the back door you’re greeted by a carefully thought out barbecue and hot tub area offering both privacy and shelter. Beyond this is a further multi layered garden which quite uniquely has a hut at the top complete with wood burner, where you can sit and enjoy the views of the wooded valley below, no matter what the weather.
The location in Midgehole is semi-rural and on the edge of the National Trust owned beauty spot of Hardcastle Crags. Here you can stroll amongst woodland, waterfalls and streams and visit the café at Gibson Mill which offers a range of snacks. Countless other public footpaths are available in the area including the picturesque river path down into Hebden Bridge, which was the UK’s first ‘walkers are welcome’ accredited town. In Hebden Bridge you’ll find a bustling collection of independent shops, bars and cafés as well as a 1920’s Art Deco cinema and a live music venue. Hebden Bridge train station is in the centre of the town and offers a direct service to both Manchester, 30 minutes, and Leeds, 60 minutes, and both the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks can be reached in around an hours drive.
Due to the age of the property it should be noted that head height is restricted through some doorways; and the stairs are not suitable for guests with restricted mobility, or young children. The stairs are steep, open sided and the treads are not consistent in size.
