Located right in the heart of Ilfracombe, Blue Beach House is very conveniently located with all the local shops, restaurants and other local amenities within easy walking distance of the house. Seek out Damian Hirst’s ’Verity’ sculpture - a great topic of conversation. The Victorian Tunnels Beaches are worth a visit and are also a sought after wedding venue. A walk up to St Nicholas Chapel will give you a great view over the harbour and town. Enjoy a spot of crabbing from the pier and there a numerous sightseeing and fishing trips leaving from the harbour.
During your stay, there is plenty to see and do in the local area and slightly further afield. Good days out include Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle and the Lynton to Lynmouth cliff railway. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor is a short distance away and on a clear day the views can be spectacular. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Great Torrington. Shewte Farm is an elegant, Grade II listed, galleried stone barn and has a floor-to-ceiling picture window offering spectacular views over Dartmoor. Sleeping six comfortably in three spacious bedrooms, it has an open plan living space with French limestone floor, underfloor heating and a wood burner. It has been furnished throughout with characterful antiques and the highest quality linen. Guests also have use of the adjoining games barn and the tree house.
The location is idyllic and ever so peaceful, set in the middle of 80 acres of fields, woods and streams set between the National Park and National Trust land. The area is exceptionally rich in wildlife including buzzards, deer, otters (part of National England Otter Survey) and sky larks, as well as England’s largest collection of bog myrtle. The location is perfect for walking or cycling on Dartmoor, visiting numerous beaches or National Trust properties. Palm View is a delightful holiday property situated just outside of the town of Paignton, a seaside town making up part of the beautiful English Riviera and close to the beautiful village of Stoke Gabriel. This pet friendly bungalow benefits off road parking and picturesque garden and is just a 10-minute downhill walk into the town.
As you enter Palm View you find yourself in the bright and airy open plan living/dining/kitchen area. With fully equipped kitchen and central island, perfect for rustling up a good meal. The living/dining area is alongside this with comfortable sofa seating, Freeview TV and glimpses of the sea. This area as a whole is very social with doors opening out onto the rear garden, a great set up for hosting those summer barbecues for family and friends. The rear garden is a lovely area to sit out in with various plants/shrubs and seating on the decked area. There is also a large studio in the back garden which guests can use as a games room/lounge area with sofa seating. Back into the property and there are three good sized bedrooms, sleeping up to seven guests! The main bedroom contains a double bed and has fitted wardrobes for guests use. The second bedroom also contains a double bed and the third bedroom has a double bed with single bunk over, a great room for children or adults alike. The family shower room in the property boasts a walk-in shower and stylish his and hers sinks.
Just up the road from Palm View are Primley Woods, a large field and wooded area which is great for walking those four legged friends. Just a short walk downhill into the first part of the town is where you can find several takeaways, shops and pubs as well as a laundrette if needed. A bit further into town and onto Paignton seafront and beach with its arcades, pier, mini golf course and various pubs/restaurants often hosting live music. Paignton harbour also has some good quality new restaurants, especially for seafood. If guests are wanting to explore the local area as well as Paignton, the nearby towns of Torquay with its marina, the famous fishing town of Brixham and Dartmouth and Kingswear are a relatively short drive away, as is the nearby city of Exeter. The town is only a 15 minute walk and only a 20 minute walk from the coast.

Upon entering the property on the ground floor are the three bedrooms. One bedroom contains twin single beds, another with a kingsize bed with its own en-suite shower room, and the final bedroom again contains a kingsize bed with access to the main bathroom from the bedroom and the hallway. Upstairs then leads to the large open plan living/dining/kitchen area, with high vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light, this space feels spacious, bright and airy. Here the kitchen is well-equipped, just next to the dining area with table and chair seating and a cosy wood burner in the living space with Smart TV and sofa seating.
The main town of Dartmouth is just a 10-minute drive away, as are the local supermarkets and petrol stations, just a 5-minute drive in the same direction. The popular Dartmouth golf club is only an 8-minute drive in the opposite direction, as is the family fun adventure park, Woodlands. Guests wanting to venture further afield can take the ferry from Dartmouth acrpss to Kingswear and onto the famous fishing town of Brixham, or alternatively drive into the market town of Totnes and explore the rest of the South Hams
Beautiful local beaches include Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands which stretches for three miles along the coast, part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Away from the coast take a trip to the wild beauty of Dartmoor, 40 minutes’ drive away. Regardless of the nature of your visit, Tawny Cottage is a fantastic place to start.

The graceful spire of Holbeton church greets you first as you enter this tranquil Devon valley - along with a sign to let you know that you are now in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Then, almost immediately, you get your first glimpse of your stunningly beautiful detached property as you drive through the exquisite craftsman made metal gates. The totally private landscaped gardens are yours to enjoy, as are an extra two acres of pasture which are perfect for dog walking. You can spend your afternoons chilling on the sunny, south facing deck watching the wildlife of this peaceful Devon valley.

Alternatively, take a 2-mile walk to the coast through secluded woodland to laze on sandy Mothecombe beach. Totnes, a handsome market town in the South Hams, is easily reached and river cruises can be taken from here down to Dartmouth during the summer months. The owner lives close by and is on hand for help and local knowledge. Whatever you decide, you’ll certainly want to round off the evening with a soak under the stars in your private hot tub with its magically lit amphitheatre. Your stay here at Pentire will rejuvenate and delight you and when you leave you will probably be planning your next visit before you even drive out of the gates! Please note that the koi carp pond can be covered with secure netting on request. Parents with small children should also be aware that the garden has an unfenced drop. Although the apartment is in a tranquil location, there are shops, cafes, restaurants and a boutique cinema in a local hotel too, all just a 10-minute stroll away! Families can enjoy spending the day by the sea, patrolled by lifeguards in the summer, building sandcastles, exploring rockpools and enjoying beautiful sunsets, one of the spectacles regularly enjoyed by locals and surfers. This three-bedroomed chocolate-box Grade II thatched cottage sits within Cockington Country Park, 450 acres of heaven less than a mile from the sea. The cottage has three good-sized bedrooms and can comfortably sleep six adults. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room, the second bedroom has a super kingsize bed that can be split to form two single beds (please ensure this is requested if required). The third bedroom has a double bed. Whilst a cot is not provided, the first two bedrooms can accommodate a travel cot. Two z-beds are available and can be sited in rooms 1 and 2.
Between Easter and October, we operate a Tea Garden at the rear of the property between 10am and 5pm. Your privacy is not impinged, your courtyard garden is private and the Tea Garden’s kitchen, although in the same building, is secured from the rest of the cottage. Weavers cottage is situated in a fantastic position for exploring the historic and well-regarded village of Cockington.
Not to mention being just a stone’s throw from Torquay seafront and harbourside with its array of bars/restaurants. There are plenty of beautiful nearby walks and the cottage is situated right in the heart of the English Riviera for ease of access exploring everything the South Hams has to offer.

Wheelwright Cottage is a beautiful, three-bedroom holiday home situated in the heart of the village of Branscombe in East Devon, just a 10-minute level walk away from the pebbled beach. Branscombe is known as being one of the prettiest unspoilt villages in Devon, ideally located on the Jurassic Coastline which is a World Heritage Site and it is part of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Perfect for families or friends, this retreat boasts homeliness and charm which can be felt upon approaching the cottage, and this continues to the inside.

As you enter the cottage, you will instantly feel at home in the luxurious and stylish kitchen with its granite worktops, dining table and chairs, and a full range of appliances. Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, the first is accessed four steps down with a kingsize bed, beautiful vaulted ceilings and an en-suite shower room. The other has a kingsize bed and is adjacent to the family bathroom, which is fitted with a walk-in shower and roll-top bathtub. Head upstairs to discover the open-plan living and dining area which is comfortably furnished with plenty of seating, a dining table and chairs, Smart TV with Freeview and a wood burner. The perfect space for winding down and watching a film after a busy day exploring the coastline, or for planning out those up and coming adventures. This then leads through to the third bedroom with a kingsize bed. In front of the property is a pretty patio area with a bistro table and chairs, a great spot for enjoying your morning coffee in the sunshine.

Conveniently located just a short walk from the beach and café, this pretty stone cottage is both comfortable and charming. Positioned close to the National Trust meadows and local attractions, there is a timeless magic about Branscombe and the property is just a stone’s throw away from a very reputable pub serving excellent food. The beautiful fishing village of Beer is just a 10-minute drive away, and here you will discover the famous Horseshoe Beach where the local fishermen bring in their catch. Enjoy picturesque walks along the coastal path to Sidmouth in one direction and Beer and Seaton in the other. Local attractions include Beer Quarry Caves, Pecorama, Seaton Tramway, Crealy, Bicton Gardens and the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth.
