About 3 miles away is Braunton, considered as the major hub of the immediate area with a good selection shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, including one of the country’s best fish and chips restaurants! As the centre of the North Devon surf scene, Braunton is also home to the Museum of British Surfing and some great surfers’ shops.
    The fabulous Saunton Sands is a great expanse of sandy beach (regularly used as a filming location for movies and videos) with exceptional sand dunes behind it, known as Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in England. Walkers and runners love the dunes and it is also great for dogs. Saunton Golf Club is just 3½ miles away and the Tarka Trail which allows you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery is within easy reach too, and follows a disused railway line and is loved by cyclists, runners and walkers alike.
