Scenic excursions on the Bure Valley Railway, the Wroxham Barns craft centre, Bewilderwood adventure park, stately Blickling Hall (NT), lovely sandy beaches and the cathedral city of Norwich with its castle, museums and galleries, cinemas and theatres, excellent shopping and wide choice of restaurants are all easily accessible. Situated within a 2 minute walk to a riverside pub, with village shops and other pubs within a 10-minute walk.

Just a short walk from the centre of bustling Holmfirth, this spectacular property boasts stunning far reaching views over the valley which you can enjoy whilst soaking in the luxury of your very own hot tub. A spacious and detached cottage, set out over one level, it is surrounded by beautiful wild gardens which extend into woodland thereby offering privacy and seclusion. Set in the Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park the surrounding magnificent countryside is most familiar as the back drop to the great British sitcom ’Last of the Summer Wine’. It is perfect for walking and cycling, with keen cyclists able to recreate routes used in the Tour de Yorkshire. A 10-minute walk down hill will take you to vibrant Holmfirth, home to shops, bars, cafés and restaurants in abundance, however a word to the wise, the roads back including the driveway to the cottage are steep and not for the faint hearted. Digley Reservoir and Holmfirth Vineyard are both around a 10-minute drive from the property and further afield you’ll find attractions for all interests within easy reach. These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

This delightful cluster of converted barns can be found deep in the Suffolk countryside, set in 80 acres of grazing meadows on the owner’s working beef farm where the owner lives. Henry’s Barn (ref UKC3168) is a semi-detached barn conversion and can accommodate up to six guests including two guests with restricted mobility, on the ground floor. The Old Dairy (ref UKC3169) is also part of a barn conversion ideal for a couple or small family. The Old Corn Mill (ref UKC3170) is another semi-detached barn conversion and has a large communal seating area, ideal if all properties are booked together, accommodating up to 16 guests.

Whilst offering holiday makers a cosy and comfortable stay, these 18th-century barns have retained much of their charm and character, and share use of an indoor heated pool which can be booked for private sessions, and is open from Easter to September (please bring your own towels). There is also a large games room with an indoor astro turf pitch for football, hockey and tennis. Ideal for families and larger groups, there is a real emphasis on guests’ comfort. The village of Walpole is in the Suffolk Blyth Valley on the outskirts of Halesworth, close to the River Blyth. It is an ideal location from which to explore the Suffolk Heritage Coast at Southwold with its brightly coloured beach huts lining the promenade, Aldeburgh for traditional fish and chips on the seafront, or Dunwich to explore the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the RSPB Minsmere, all offering a distinctly individual coastal experience. You are also ideally located to discover the Suffolk countryside locations of Framlingham and the infamous Castle on the Hill, the market town of Halesworth for a spot of retail therapy and the equally beautiful Beccles, a market town situated on the southern network of the Norfolk Broads National Park. One of a kind, Riverside is a spacious, detached house which has been fully adapted for disabled use and is wheelchair-friendly. With a stylish interior design and a light, bright and airy feel, this property would really suit people of all ages and needs. The property boasts a fabulous hydrotherapy, indoor heated swimming pool with Jacuzzi and hoist, which lifts from ground level into the pool. There are also patio doors which lead out onto the decked terrace with a large outdoor table and bench seating.

There is a wheelchair lift in the hallway, taking you from the ground floor bedroom level down to the lower ground floor. The kitchen has been specially adapted, with some low level work surfaces and easily accessible sockets and light switches. The games room has a pool table and darts, with doors that open out on to a decked terrace area, and ramp access onto the lower garden. The living room is cosy, with a large corner sofa, beanbags for the kids, wood burner, large TV, Wi-Fi and an intercom system with camera to open the front door. The master bedroom has a large en-suite wet room, and there are wide access doorways throughout the property. The garden is fully enclosed, with ramp access all around, and a large covered fish pond below the terraced area. The property can be decorated for Christmas if you wish, and the owners are very accommodating to your special requirements.

Located in Bude, the property is just a few minutes walk from the canal and footpath into the harbour area. Don’t forget your canine friends too, dogs are very welcome at Riverside. Tucked away on the site of the Mid Suffolk Light Railway track bed, close to the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum, these delightful and unique holiday properties are based on the railway theme: one a station building plus 5 converted railway carriages, enjoying panoramic views across rolling countryside.

The Station House (ref E5336) is a comfortable detached, three-bedroom station building, typical of the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway. With one double and two twin bedrooms, it can house up to six adults.

Railway Carriage One (ref E5337) is a compact but airy carriage with a living room and kitchen area and sleeps four in comfort. There is a double bedroom and a second sleeping area with two short bunk beds suitable for children.

Railway Carriage Two (ref E5601) is a well-appointed and spacious carriage with two bedrooms, one double, one with two bunk beds, and a further sofa bed in the living area to sleep two. The open plan living area, and an adjoining kitchen, allows families or friends to spread out, relax and enjoy their holiday together.

The Guard’s Van (E5639) offers two comfortable bedrooms for four people, with a double and two single beds. It has a delightful living and dining room with comfortable, upholstered bench seats which retain the original feel of the carriage.

The Italian Carriage (UKC3492) offers accommodation for up to four people. At one end you will find a bunk room, sleeping two people and the other a double bed in the master room. In the centre of the carriage is an open plan seating and kitchen area. The carriage enjoys its own patio and seating area.

Wilby Halt (ref UKC712) is a quirky and unusual property is split over two restored railway carriages. Linked by a railway platform, the first carriage houses the living space including kitchen and comfortable living room. The second carriage is the sleeping carriage where you will find the double bedroom and further room with bunk bed and single bed. This really is a unique experience and perfect for families.

It is surrounded by country lanes and farmland, making it an ideal location for those who enjoy cycling, walking and just relaxing and getting away from it all. It is centrally located, so it is also a great destination for those who want to sample what Suffolk has to offer. The owner’s own swimming pool, ¾ mile away, is available and is heated all year. There is also a hot tub and sauna.
Local amenities can be found in the pretty village of Debenham only 4 miles away, which has some lovely shops, pubs and cafés, as well as a local supermarket and leisure centre. The beautiful village of Mendlesham, 1½ miles, has a pub, post office, local store and bakery. It is within a short walk of the Mid-Suffolk Railway Museum, with steam trains at weekends in summer. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Set in the heart of the Nene Valley countryside, this beautiful stone cottage is perfect for a family holiday or a quiet retreat. Lily Pad Cottages are set around a courtyard, have all been thoughtfully designed and are wheelchair accessible. Lily Pad 2 offers three bedrooms, one on the ground floor, and all can be made as super kingsize doubles or twins. There is also the option to request a Z-bed if flexible sleeping arrangements are preferred, by prior arrangement directly with the owner at an additional cost. There is an open plan living area and kitchen, and a ground floor bathroom with wet room-style shower area. Outside there is a patio and garden to sit and enjoy the sun. There is a beautiful relaxing indoor pool area which can be booked for exclusive use (free of charge) and it boasts comfortable seating, changing rooms, showers and a table tennis area.
Visitors to Lily Pad Cottages are spoilt for choices when it comes to entertainment, there is something for everyone in the family. Within walking distance of the cottages is a world of footpaths and greenways, winding alongside the stunning River Nene and out across the countryside. Many of these trails end at some very accommodating pubs that offer delicious food and drink, as well as a range of local beers. There are great street markets in Oundle (on Thursdays) and Stamford (On Fridays) which are both well worth a visit, while the beautiful Rushden Lakes development is just a 30-minute drive away, offering retail, entertainment and eating options all set around the Nene Wetlands conservation area. Burghley House and Park is only a short drive away, and Stamford is worth a visit.
Indeed, if wildlife and nature are of interest, Rutland Water is only a 20-minute drive and offers great leisure activities from a waterside stroll, learn to sail, windsurf or hire a bike and cycle around the reservoir, stopping for a picnic. Sacrewell Farm Park is home to the giant Shire Horses. Hamerton Zoo Park is 15 miles away but is so popular with visitors as it has some great exhibits, and children love the monkeys. For a day at the beach, Snettisham is a hive of activity for nature lovers and walkers, backing onto a coastal park with reed beds, scrub and marshland behind the shingle beach. It’s also adjacent to the RSPB Snettisham Reserve which hosts an incredible display of knot and pink-footed geese when the tides are right. Sandy beach at Hunstanton is great for children to search for sea life in the rock pools.
