It is also close to Southwold and has easy access out into the surrounding towns and villages of Suffolk. Within walking distance is the village of Wrentham, with a village shop, pubs and superb café/deli, ideal for getting breakfast.
This country house has spacious accommodation with every care taken to present an exceptional holiday experience. It has large sociable areas, a warm snug with a wood burner for winter cosiness and some downstairs accommodation for those with mobility restrictions. It also has a huge swim-spa and beautiful gardens to enjoy. There is a porch with useful storage leading to the open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. The living area has comfortable seating here for everyone as well as benefitting from a Smart TV and huge bi-fold doors that lead out to the garden and spa. The dining area is complete with dining table and chairs for eleven guests, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you may need to rustle up a homely meal. Downstairs is a snug which can be used as a bedroom (includes mattress topper. wardrobe and blackout curtains) with a Smart TV, and there is also a downstairs bathroom with a big Jacuzzi bath and large rainfall shower. Upstairs are four bedrooms all with wonderful field and woodland views. Outside, make use of the bubbling swim pool/spa with seated jacuzzi area, jets and swim against ’pool’ area, there is a dry ’dome’ to dry off in with towel dryer and warm towels.

Country walks are available all around, and the sea is only a walk or short bike ride away. The Suffolk heritage coastline has fabulous beaches to enjoy. Explore Southwold, a fantastic seaside town with pier, historic lighthouse and high street lined with independent shops and boutiques. RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich heath, offering opportunities for spotting birds and connecting with wildlife, with excellent walks available. For great days out visit Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle, Halesworth Museum, Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens and Easton Farm Park. Vibrant market town of Beccles boasts independent boutiques and chain shops, with an excellent collection of eateries, including fine dining to many cafés serving home-made cakes and savouries to delight many palates. The weekly market is excellent for all things local, and there is an open air heated outdoor swimming pool, popular with many local swimmers and gateway to the Famous Norfolk Broads National Park. There is plenty to do in the area for all ages, all year round, including Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Marwell Zoo, New Forest Wildlife Park and Southampton with its maritime history, to name but a few! It is only a 10-minute drive to historic Lymington, with waterside dining, boutiques and ferries to the Isle of Wight. Tucked away in a peaceful and secluded village setting, these five comfortably furnished holiday cottages are set in an idyllic location, only 5 miles from the spectacular Bamburgh Castle and one of the longest sandy beaches in England, and within a few minutes’ drive of Seahouses, where regular boat trips depart for the Farne Islands. Between the Cheviots and the sea, there is easy touring through the beautiful countryside with its numerous castles, stately homes and NT properties. Furnished to a high standard, and close to the owners’ home, Fordson offers single-storey accommodation and Ferguson is a detached two-storey cottage. The Mill House stands as a detached converted barn, with Waren View and The Granary Cottage forming an adjoining pair. This is an ideal choice for family holidays, with use of a very pleasant lawned area by a stream. There is also shared use of the owners’ hard tennis court nearby.

Warenford Village serves as an excellent base from which to discover Northumberland and the Scottish border country. Just 4 miles distant lies Budle Bay, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as an SSSI, with the ancient walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed (15 miles) and the Duchess of Northumberland’s ornamental gardens a short drive away. Created to rival the best in Europe, the gardens are contemporary in design and include waterfalls and cascading plumes set within landscaped grounds with themed planted areas. Also sure to delight both young and old alike is a visit to neighbouring Alnwick Castle, which served as the location for the Harry Potter films. Home of the Percy family, it stands as the second largest inhabited castle in England after Windsor Castle, with some of its rooms open to the public and displaying a wealth of decorative and fine art.

Within easy reach, too, is Holy Island – renowned for its medieval religious heritage, priory and picturesque castle – and also known by its Anglo-Saxon name of Lindisfarne. Accessed by a paved causeway at low tide, the island is popular with bird-watchers and nature lovers, with the north-western portion of the island being maintained as a nature reserve, where terns, plovers and seals can be observed. Whilst on the island, a trip to The Museum of Island Life will reveal former living and working conditions there, and St Aidan’s Winery tempts visitors with its sweet concoction of local Lindisfarne Mead.
There are quiet country lanes for cycling and several excellent golf courses nearby, as well as a selection of shops in Belford (3 miles) and good inns and restaurants in which to enjoy a family meal locally – the nearest pub with restaurant being just 30 yards.

Set in over 100 acres of woodland in the popular St Ives Holiday Village, these delightful lodges offer something for everyone. Happys (ref UKC196) lives up to its name. This single-storey, semi-detached lodge has been lovingly furnished to a very good standard, and the interior has been designed with a certain colour and flair, providing a comfortable and cosy retreat all year round. Happys also looks out onto a green wooded area and the surrounding area is a safe haven for wildlife and holiday goers alike. Gracelands (ref 29552) is a single storey terraced lodge, again providing comfortable accommodation for up to 5. On the outskirts of St Ives, the site has many facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, table tennis, kayaking, zorbing balls, regular entertainment programmes, nature walks, children’s club, internet cafe, beer garden, takeaway, large bar and function room, shop and a launderette, all open from March to October (please visit on-site reception for programme of activities and passes are available at cost of £30 per family pass). Take the scenic coastal train from nearby St Erth to St Ives. The popular seaside town features a quaint harbour and glorious beaches. Budding artists and enthusiasts might like to visit the art gallery, Tate St Ives, or the Barbara Hepworth Museum. Strolling along its cobbled streets, you’ll find that St Ives is home to a host of curiosity shops and galleries. There’s also alfresco fine dining to try in one of the many excellent restaurants dotted along the water’s edge. The area is famous for its beautiful golden stretches, such as the award-winning beach at Carbis Bay, Porthminster and the rolling sand dunes at Hayle. This glorious surfing beach stretches all the way to Gwithian, and enjoys far-reaching views of Godrevy Lighthouse and out to sea.

Nearby, Tehidy Country Park boasts over 25 acres of woodland, cycle trails and bridle paths to explore. St Michael’s Mount (Karrek Loos yn Koos in Cornish, meaning ‘hoar rock in woodland’) is a must-see attraction during your stay. The small tidal island is close to Marazion, which is a hotspot for birdwatchers thanks to its habitat rich marshland just half a kilometre west of the historic town. Beach 2 miles. Situated on the famous white cliffs between Folkestone and Dover, an iconic symbol of home and once war time defence, yet now a place to simply admire the stunning scenery. With many idyllic walks nearby, you will find Samphire Ho and the National Trusts White Cliffs of Dover situated to the east, and the conservation woodland area of The Warren just beneath you where seals can sometimes be seen swimming in the waters. The seaside town of Folkestone is within a short drive, with its regeneration now attracting many who have discovered its sandy beach, an abundance of quality eateries, and the individual shops and art galleries of its old high street. That is if you can prize yourself away from the tranquillity of this enviably positioned holiday home!

Recently renovated this stunning barn conversion has been tastefully decorated and equipped and is spacious, bright and welcoming, yet the underfloor heating will insure this property remains ideal for a winter break. There are a wealth of things to do on the farm to keep youngsters entertained including plethora of farm animals, a communal swimming pool which is heated and will be open for use between May half term and mid September, a tennis court, games room and play area.
This comfortable, dog friendly, holiday home is a 15-minute walk from Widemouth Bay which is a fantastic beach and has a vast expanse of golden sands at low tide and many rock pools to explore. The surf is often outstanding, the sun hits the beach for most of the day and the sunsets over the sea are simply magical. 3 miles to the north is Bude, a vibrant, bustling little tourist town with a wealth of restaurants and amenities.
For walkers and cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the south west coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area is a nature lovers paradise. Bude is only a couple of minutes down the road and has the full range of facilities that one would expect of a small town including a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurant.
Bude is possibly more diverse than any other holiday destination in Cornwall. Most major villages, towns and attractions are within an hour’s drive; and because Bude sits on the county border, visitors can explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall at their leisure. Look past the eight main beaches and many smaller hidden coves and you will soon see there really is something for everyone. In the centre of Bude there is a huge, sandy beach which is a favourite with children and adults alike,there are a host of pubs, cafés and restaurants to suit every palate. There is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children’s play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August. Beach 1.5 miles.

Stone Farm Cottage is a beautifully presented granite cottage with rolling rural views derelict tin mine engine houses dot the landscape and there are magnificent sea views from the top of the garden. A small stream trickles through the garden and there is access to a shared (with the owners) covered swimming pool which is heated and available from the beginning of June until the beginning of September.
Inside is a stylishly decorated, open plan living space with doors leading to the garden, original beams, and a cosy wood burner to warm you up after a day exploring the dramatic coastal scenery or checking out the surf. The well-equipped kitchen area is a joy to cook in, why not take you holiday feast outside and dine al fresco or fire up the BBQ on a beautiful summer evening. To one side of the living space is the master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite wet room. At the other end is the utility room and family bathroom, leading through to the twin bedroom with plenty of built in storage.
Bojewyan is a small settlement to the east of Pendeen which is famous for its industrial heritage. Pendeen village has a general store and Post office and there are four local pubs serving food. Three of these, as well as a takeaway fish and chip shop and a Spanish tapas restaurant, are all within a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from the property.
The St Just area has a rich mining history and has now been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is also in one of the twelve Cornish Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pendeen Lighthouse and the secluded Portheras Cove and beach are a mile to the north. The coastline in this part of Cornwall is simply outstanding and the road from St Ives to St Just is possibly the most scenic drive in the county. Beach 1¾ miles.
