Newquay also has a working harbour, tropical gardens, a Sea Life centre, zoo, local farm shop, golf course within walking distance from the apartment, horse riding, bicycle hire, sea trips for fishing and two leisure centres. It is also surrounded by many tourist attractions for all ages including go karting, Crealy Adventure Park, Dairyland, a Japanese garden and Trerice Manor, a National Trust house and garden. The whole coastline is dotted with beaches and fishing villages from St Agnes in the south to Padstow in the north, with its fine dining and many excellent restaurants including those of the TV chef Rick Stein.
Padstow is a must as it provides a day and evening out for the whole family. Wander the narrow streets and enjoy the evening by the working harbour or hire a bike and cycle along the famous Camel Trail, a flat off-road trail that hugs the shore of the estuary. At Watergate Bay, 2 miles from Newquay, you can take advantage of the wide beach which is home to the British Kite Surfing Centre.
