There is plenty of room for both adults and children with four bedrooms, one bedroom offering ensuite facilities and three more bedrooms which share a stunning family bathroom with freestanding bath to soak in or a separate shower. On the ground floor, you will discover a large country style kitchen with all mod cons and a large living room. There is a separate dining room with an extendable table just off the living room, too. The cottage boasts a cosy snug, ideal for a nap or to read that latest novel. Through the snug, you will discover a sunroom with French doors that soak up the sun and welcome you into the garden area with its large table for everyone to gather around on a sunny day. Matlock and Matlock Bath are close by, giving the opportunity to explore the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom accessed through a cable car, and offering spectacular views of the Derwent Valley. From here you can tour the network of caverns and passageways or walk over sixty acres of woodland hillside. An ideal base from which to explore the region’s attractions including the magnificent stately homes. The beautiful Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are an absolute must see. Visit the picturesque villages of Bakewell and Ashover both close by. Excellent walking can be found from the doorstep, plus activities at Carsington Water including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and cycling, plus excellent birdwatching in the surrounding areas.

Meadows Huts, Foxglove (UK37639) and Forget-Me-Not (UK37646) are located just outside of the quaint village of Parwich, 5 miles from the nearest town, Ashbourne. This area of the Peak District is fantastic for exploring the countryside. The High Peak trail and the Tissington trail are both within 3 miles of the huts as well as recognised cycle routes. Dovedale is a must to visit whilst in the area, read up on the history of the steppingstones and take the walk yourselves up Thorpe Cloud where you will see breath-taking views well worth the hike. If you are more of a thrill seeker Alton Towers is only a 20-minute drive which makes a fun day out for all the family or take on some water sports at Carsington reservoir.
After all this enjoy a nice meal in the evening at the local pub. Foxglove and Forget-me-not are two similar shepherds’ huts, both finished to an incredible standard with home comforts in mind. The open plan living space has a double bunk bed allowing space for four guests, a dining area with a TV, there is also Wi-Fi provided and electric radiators. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, hob and fridge, plus there is a shower room within the hut. Outside a barbecue and firepit are provided with outdoor furniture, overlooking the fields.

Longnor Village with its quaint cobbled market square and traditional pubs is just a 10 minute drive, and the ever popular villages of Hartington, Bakewell, Eyam and Castleton are all easily reachable in around half an hour, as are the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Abbots Abode is a characteristic cottage sleeping up to six guests in two bedrooms. On the ground floor is a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen with farmhouse dining table to seat all guests, and a comfortable living room with ample seating, electric wood burner and TV. On the first floor is a family bathroom with shower over bath, a double bedroom and the second bedroom has four single beds - please note two of the single beds are up a short and secure ladder to the mezzanine, perfect for kids. The property has a garden to the front with stunning views down the Peak District valley, it is a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee while planning your day ahead.
The views from Monks Retreat are beautiful, just a short walk away you have an extensive panorama or seven dales and can see far out into the distance to the high moorlands of Axe Edge and Kinder Scout. The Limestone Way trail runs directly through the farm so you can easily hope on to this for your first exciting Peak District walk, there are many in the area such as Monsal Trail, High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail to name a few. Local to the property is Buxton town which offers an array of restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as the famous opera house that has shows on regularly. Bakewell and Matlock are also nearby to explore, as well as Chatsworth House. After you have enjoyed a fun-filled day head down to the local pub to enjoy some local ales and home cooked food.
