A great family day out is Easton Farm Park, 2 miles, with plenty of family fun, including animal petting, indoor soft play and many more activities. It is also host to the Maverick Festival, held during early July, for the finest Americana music festival.
The Suffolk Heritage Coast is easily accessible by car, where you can visit Southwold, Aldeburgh and England’s most easterly point, Lowestoft. Suffolk is a walkers and cyclists, paradise with winding roads, chocolate box villages and stunning landscape. Sea and river fishing can be found within 10 miles. Located just walking distance from the beach, this is a fantastic location to enjoy a coastal holiday with friends and family. Brightlingsea is a lovely and quaint seaside town with a boating lake, beaches and a lively busy harbour with boat trips available throughout the summer. The town has a number of good pubs, cafes and restaurants, and is known for its three excellent fish and chip shops. It is conveniently located to explore the coast of Essex or, further inland, the county town of Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town, with a castle, museums, art gallery, many Roman remains, a good shopping centre, Colchester Zoo and a rail link to London (40 minutes).
