The wonderful RHS gardens at Rosemoor and the Dartington Crystal Factory are worth a visit and both these attractions are based at Great Torrington. All or part of the complex can be booked for large groups, parties, or family gatherings.     They each have their individual character including beams and most with wood burners. Duval Priory (ref 9985) dates back to 1086 is also Grade ll listed and enjoys its own private hot tub. Guests can also enjoy the cycle path around the grounds.

The medieval town of Dunster with its magnificent castle, deer park and mill, and the historic cathedral city of Exeter with its variety of shops, restaurants, theatres, racecourse and the Maritime Museum are both 20 miles away.


    Delightful Bickleigh, 8 miles, has lovely, thatched inns overlooking the river serving good food and local ales, the perfect location to get away from it all. Taunton, Ilfracombe, Sidmouth, Seaton, and Exmouth within easy driving distance.     If you are not fishing, there is still plenty to do in this lovely part of Devon. Located just outside the regional town of Barnstaple, the cottages are in an ideal location to explore this stunning part of the British Isles. A few miles away, you have access to some of the best beaches in the country including Woolacombe and Saunton. The nearest beach at Instow is ideal for children or just a great place to walk off life’s stresses, and then enjoy a meal or drink at one of the pubs and restaurants along the front.
