Within walking distance, you have access to St. Petrock’s Church, Lydford Castle, two local 16t- century pubs, Lydford Farm Shop and the Granite Way, an 11-mile multi-use trail running between Lydford and Okehampton. With easy access to the moors, you are free to search the tors, Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses in this amazing landscape! The surrounding area is filled with rolling hills and magnificent scenery.
    The property is perfectly located to discover Exeter city, just 40 minutes or so to the east, with its magnificent cathedral and countless other attractions. Just 7 miles south is Tavistock, a market town, with shops, restaurants, swimming pool, and cinema. Just 14 minutes northeast by car (9 miles) is Okehampton which offers shops, restaurants, train station, and many walking trails. On the ground floor is a very spacious living/dining area with a Smart TV and cosy wood burner, and the kitchen is perfect as a breakfast room. A few steps up leading you into the utility room which includes a washing machine, dishwasher, and a separate toilet. There are three bedrooms on the first floor: a kingsize room, a single and a twin bedroom plus a lovely modern bathroom with a freestanding bath and a shower cubicle.     Chittlehampton is a traditional Devon village situated in the north of the county between Barnstaple and South Moulton. It was the first village where the Saxons settled during their 8th century invasion of Devon. At its heart is The Square, a wide-open space sloping upwards with the outline hardly having changed since that time. The lovely church of St Hieritha was completely rebuilt between 1470 and 1520 on the site of the earlier cruciform structure, dominating the local skyline.
    Although many licenced premises survived well into 19th century providing a place of refreshment and rest for the many pilgrims who came to the village, today there remains just one, but one which is extremely popular and serves lovely traditional pub fayre in a warm and friendly environment. The village is perfectly located for exploring North Devon and all its attractions such as Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’, the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Lynton & Lynmouth, Ilfracombe and the world-famous Clovelly Village with their awe-inspiring scenery.
