Welcome to Violet Bay, this stunning fisherman’s cottage located a short walk from the famous golden sand beach of Weymouth is the perfect place for the family to stay and enjoy their holiday in Weymouth. This recently refurbished property has been completed to a high standard with furniture to match. Entering the property you will notice the living room with the electric log burner, Smart TV, comfy sofa, and a single sofa bed. The dining room is at the rear of the property where there is bench seating for up to six guests, French doors open on to the rear garden which is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening under the stars.
The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, microwave-oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, and coffee machine. Upstairs both bedrooms sleep 2 with bedroom one with a King size bed and bedrooms two with a twin bed with a zip-link mattress. The bathroom is at the rear of the property where a small step takes you down in a bathroom with shower over bath, toilet, basin, and Heated towel rail. Outside you will also find the utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also an outside toilet. A short walk from violet bay you will be welcomed to the beautiful sites of Weymouth harbour, this once famous fishing harbour is now home to many pleasure boats, small ferries, and many water sport activities for you all to enjoy.
If you are looking for a relaxing day down at the water’s edge you will find plenty of local bars, restaurants, and takeaways to enjoy all day and night. The Weymouth Beach which is positioned in the heart of The World-Famous Jurassic Coast is the perfect bay to enjoy a swim or time with a book on the beach. For the walkers among us, The Jurassic Coastline has plenty of trail walks, make sure you take in the sites of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, you do not want to forget the camera for this trip.
Closer to the property, Portland is a 10-minute drive, which is home of the 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy, Chesil beach, the renowned Portland Bill Lighthouse plus many more. With many original features combined with a fresh feel this is a place not to be missed. Entering the property there is a bright and spacious hallway leading into the living where you will find a stone fireplace, bay window, sofa, two chairs, and a flat screen TV. The dining room is down the hallway set up for the whole family to enjoy a well-deserved dinner together. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge and freezer, gas oven and hob and washing machine. The shower room is located on the ground floor with good sized shower cubicle and a thermostatic shower. Upstairs you will find a fantastic layout with one king size room, one twin with two single beds and a single room with single bed. Outside the south facing decked rear garden is the perfect place to enjoy a night under the stars enjoying a drink after a day exploring the fantastic sites of Portland and surround.

For anyone visiting Portland you will not want to miss a day exploring the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, one of the many fantastic parts of the Dorset Coastline where you will find Portland Bill, a working lighthouse dating back to early 18th Century. With many local attractions there is something for everyone. Steeped in history Portland will give you that feeling you will need to go back again to keep exploring. The views from the Olympic Rings sculpture which was created to celebrate the London 2012 summer Olympics which the Weymouth and Portland Sailing academy was host to the sailing events. The views stretch across the whole of Weymouth and Chesil Beach.

The property is within easy walking distance to Church Ope Cove, a small, secluded beach on the sheltered eastern side of the Isle of Portland, perfect for swimming or relaxing on the beach. Also, within easy walking distance of local shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, and just a few minutes away is a local play area for sitting out and relaxing or enjoying a picnic. Water sports, sailing, swimming, canoeing, boating, fishing, horse riding and the scenic coastal walking are all available within easy walking/driving distance.

If you are looking to venture further afield you can visit the historic County Town of Dorchester, where you will find restaurants, pubs, shops, and museums. Poole Harbour is an approx. 45-minute drive, this is the second largest natural harbour in the world and home to the famous Brownsea Island where you need to keep an eye out for the red squirrel. Regular pleasure boat trips are offered around the harbour and to Brownsea Island.
