Situated in Weston in the heart of Portland, this semi-detached holiday home for four is ideally suited for exploring this scenic area, along with Weymouth and Dorchester with their many attractions. The family pets are very welcome and we provide a dog crate, dog towels and blankets, as well as an outdoor tap. Home to the National Sailing Academy, visitors can enjoy many watersports in and around Weymouth harbour, be it windsurfing, sailing, boating, fishing or swimming off Weymouth’s sandy beach. The World Heritage Jurassic Coast stretches along the Chesil Beach to the beautiful fishing port of Lyme Regis or towards Pool and Swanage, taking in Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Relax in Weymouth itself and sample many of its restaurants, visit Brewer’s Quay, take a harbour cruise or even venture out for a day trip on the ferry to Guernsey, you will have much to enjoy. The apartment is perfectly located in an elevated position less than a mile walk from Chesil Beach; it is the ideal base from which to explore the stunning beauty of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and all Dorset itself has to offer. A visit to Portland wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the famous Portland Bill Lighthouse where you can experience the breath-taking views and enjoy the spectacular coastal walks back home to Fortuneswell … you will not want to forget your camera.
Apart from the many local walks and activities such as watersports, sailing, swimming, boating and fishing, there is also a birdwatch observatory, sculpture park, museum, art galleries, Portland Castle and D-Day Museum within easy walking/driving distance or on a convenient bus route. If you are looking to venture further afield, you can always visit the historic town of Dorchester, Abbotsbury Swannery, the spectacular Durdle Door, or Lyme Regis. Poole Harbour is approximately a 45-minute drive and is the second largest natural harbour in the world which is also home to the famous Brownsea Island. Beach ½ mile.

The shower room is located on the ground floor with good sized shower cubicle and a thermostatic shower. Outside the south facing decked rear garden is the perfect place to enjoy a night under the stars enjoying a drink after a day exploring the fantastic sites of Portland and surround.

For anyone visiting Portland you will not want to miss a day exploring the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, one of the many fantastic parts of the Dorset Coastline where you will find Portland Bill, a working lighthouse dating back to early 18th Century. With many local attractions there is something for everyone. Steeped in history Portland will give you that feeling you will need to go back again to keep exploring. The views from the Olympic Rings sculpture which was created to celebrate the London 2012 summer Olympics which the Weymouth and Portland Sailing academy was host to the sailing events. The views stretch across the whole of Weymouth and Chesil Beach.

The property is within easy walking distance to Church Ope Cove, a small, secluded beach on the sheltered eastern side of the Isle of Portland, perfect for swimming or relaxing on the beach. Also, within easy walking distance of local shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, and just a few minutes away is a local play area for sitting out and relaxing or enjoying a picnic. Water sports, sailing, swimming, canoeing, boating, fishing, horse riding and the scenic coastal walking are all available within easy walking/driving distance.

Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy is a 6 minute drive away for all of those looking for a more action packed break.
If you are looking to venture further afield you can visit the historic County Town of Dorchester, where you will find restaurants, pubs, shops, and museums. Poole Harbour is an approx. 45-minute drive, this is the second largest natural harbour in the world and home to the famous Brownsea Island where you need to keep an eye out for the red squirrel. Regular pleasure boat trips are offered around the harbour and to Brownsea Island.
