    This lovely ground floor conversion of a Grade II listed, former station master’s house provides an amazing location for the perfect Yorkshire coastal holiday. The station was designed by Rawlins Gould and opened on the 28th March 1864, closing 100 years later, on 19th October 1964, following the Beeching cuts. The property has been tastefully restored and enjoys some sea views from both bedrooms, and the twin bedroom has a 24" Freeview TV and DVD player.
    The sandy beaches are about 200 yards away, and there is a boat compound with launching facilities for boats, ribs and jetskis giving access to the sea. It is centrally located in the unspoilt seaside town of Hornsea, known as ’Lakeland by the Sea’, due to the presence in the town of Yorkshire’s largest natural freshwater lake, Hornsea Mere. Not only is the property close to the beach and promenade with its cafés and fish and chip shops, but it is also a short level stroll from the heritage town centre with its museum, shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and public parks, making it an ideal base for those wanting to relax and enjoy the area. Within just a few hundred yards of Station House you will find an indoor soft play facility and Hornsea’s main leisure centre, which offers an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, café and other facilities. Hornsea is also the finishing point for the Trans Pennine Way; from your doorstep you can cycle or walk through the town and out into open countryside on these wonderful, largely level, maintained leisure trails.     Bridlington, boasting a wonderful sandy beach, is a traditional seaside resort for families, yet is still a very busy working harbour. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and the Bridlington Spa Theatre is very popular with international acts and shows.
    To the north of the links you can walk to Danes Dyke Nature Reserve where there are some wonderful nature and wildlife walks. It is a great, dog-friendly place to take the children and wander amongst the wooded areas down to the shoreline. Paths from here lead to Flamborough Head, originally a small fishing village with spectacular white chalk cliffs and rugged clifftop pathways.
