This lovely ground floor conversion of a Grade II listed, former station master’s house provides an amazing location for the perfect Yorkshire coastal holiday. The station was designed by Rawlins Gould and opened on the 28th March 1864, closing 100 years later, on 19th October 1964, following the Beeching cuts. The property has been tastefully restored and enjoys some sea views from both bedrooms, and the twin bedroom has a 24" Freeview TV and DVD player.
The sandy beaches are about 200 yards away, and there is a boat compound with launching facilities for boats, ribs and jetskis giving access to the sea. It is centrally located in the unspoilt seaside town of Hornsea, known as ’Lakeland by the Sea’, due to the presence in the town of Yorkshire’s largest natural freshwater lake, Hornsea Mere. Not only is the property close to the beach and promenade with its cafés and fish and chip shops, but it is also a short level stroll from the heritage town centre with its museum, shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and public parks, making it an ideal base for those wanting to relax and enjoy the area. Within just a few hundred yards of Station House you will find an indoor soft play facility and Hornsea’s main leisure centre, which offers an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, café and other facilities. Hornsea is also the finishing point for the Trans Pennine Way; from your doorstep you can cycle or walk through the town and out into open countryside on these wonderful, largely level, maintained leisure trails. Activities locally also include sailing and bird watching at Hornsea Mere, Hornsea Golf Course, Freeport shopping centre, Honeysuckle Farm and there is a boat compound with launching facilities. The owners offer their guests a free daily session with their dog at Hunsdale Fields. Both 3-acre and 5-acre fields are fully enclosed, where each customer has the exclusive use to let their dog exercise off the lead, without the distractions of other dogs or their owners.

This superbly restored, former estate stone cottage offers excellent terraced holiday accommodation in the heart of the village of Brantingham opposite the picturesque village pond and green. It has modern internal features, including high speed fibre broadband, a bespoke kitchen, feature brick barbecue, patio furniture and sun umbrella for an al fresco meal, wood burning stove and an oak staircase, leading to galleried landing with a desk and views of the village green. It has quality oak furniture, and furnishings created with the help of an interior designer. The property also has special lighting, underfloor heating downstairs and in the bathroom, and provides a lovely base to explore the area from or simply relax in. Nestled within the pretty hamlet of Sewerby, and just a short stroll from the beach on the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline, is April Cottage. This pretty, mid terraced holiday home comes complete with a first floor balcony offering sea views. It is just perfect for a small family or for two to enjoy a romantic seaside break away.
Enter into the spacious hallway and find the open plan living/dining room to the right. Deep filled sofas surround the large Smart TV and a traditional wood burner provides a warming and homely feel to the room; just perfect for keeping the chill away during the cooler winter months and ideal to snuggle up in front of to watch your favourite holiday movie. The dining table sits to one end and offers plenty of seating for four. This room is flooded with plenty of natural light from feature windows and a glass door leading out to the enclosed garden. A large, well-equipped, galley-style kitchen offers all the mod cons. A door also leads outside to additional seating where you can enjoy an early morning coffee or an evening glass of wine and a good book during the warmer summer months. April Cottage offers two beautifully presented bedrooms, with the master bedroom having doors leading out to a private balcony with sea views; ideal for a spot of sun bathing or a quiet place to sit and watch the sun rise over the sea. To the rear of this pretty cottage is an enclosed paved garden. The garden furniture is placed to make the most of the suns rays and there are even raised beds full of herbs that you can pick and add to your home cooking!
The village of Sewerby sits on the cliff tops and overlooks Bridlington Bay. This cottage offers the ideal location for dog walker and cyclists alike. For those that enjoy a game of golf a visit to Bridlington Links Golf Course is an absolute must. Enjoy the exquisite Georgian home of Sewerby Hall and Gardens, or meander through Danes Dyke to the beach. A short drive will bring you to the bustling harbour town of Bridlington, and a little further afield are Filey and Flamborough. Outdoor lovers will be awe-inspired by the rugged white cliffs of Flamborough village, a fantastic spot for birdwatching and hiking to absorb the untamed landscape. The unspoilt rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds are on your doorstep and the historic city of York is only an hour’s drive away.

Situated on the very popular Bridlington Links golf course site, Yorkshire Rose is a very spacious, detached log cabin on a beautiful park with woodland walks and picturesque surroundings. The club house is just a short stroll from the lodge where there is a popular restaurant and bar which can be used by non-members and there is also a gym available (payable at the office). The bar area leads out onto a veranda with stunning sea views where you can sit and enjoy a meal or drink. The 18-hole golf course is next to the site and guests staying at the lodge will enjoy a 25% discount.
Sewerby Hall is accessed via a path from the lodges. This stunning, Georgian mansion has award winning gardens and a zoo for the children to visit. With over 50 acres of parkland there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic along the clifftop, or catch the land train that runs between the hall and Bridlington.
Bridlington, boasting a wonderful sandy beach, is a traditional seaside resort for families, yet is still a very busy working harbour. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and the Bridlington Spa Theatre is very popular with international acts and shows.
To the north of the links you can walk to Danes Dyke Nature Reserve where there are some wonderful nature and wildlife walks. It is a great, dog-friendly place to take the children and wander amongst the wooded areas down to the shoreline. Paths from here lead to Flamborough Head, originally a small fishing village with spectacular white chalk cliffs and rugged clifftop pathways.
The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just a short drive away and here you can see the thousands of migrating seabirds especially the puffins. Scarborough and Whitby are further up the coast, both very popular holiday destinations. Beach 400 yards. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
