Visitors will find locally an 18-hole golf course, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, a parachute and gliding centre, and an RSPB bird sanctuary.

    Just a short drive leads to the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey with miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches, colourful promenades, inns and tea rooms in abundance, offering the perfect family day out. Walking and cycling tracks surround the cottages and there is easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds - one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets. Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit, where children will love the chance to search for fossils amongst the rock pools. For stunning views, Flamborough Head is a must and visitors will delight in the puffin colonies that cling to the cliff side. For an alternative day trip, York will not disappoint and meandering along the cobbled streets of ‘The Shambles’, packed with curio and antique shops, as well as many museums including The National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will keep both adults and children alike amused for hours. Explore British heritage when visiting stately homes and halls such as Burton Agnes Hall with its large collection of Monet and Renoir paintings, or Sledmere Hall with its beautiful gardens only a 30-minute drive away.     Ladysmith is a fabulous detached former farmhouse, superbly located within open countryside with uninterrupted views, yet close to the seaside resort of Hornsea and just outside the village of Brandesburton. It is situated in an idyllic rural location amidst agricultural land that grows a variety of crops. On a clear night it is possible to see the night sky in all its glory, due to the rural location there is very little light pollution. There are stunning views from every window in this very impressive holiday home, which offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for groups of friends or family wishing to make memories and enjoy some quality time together.

    Ladysmith offers rural tranquillity in accommodation that offers space to relax with all the amenities and offers a well-equipped family kitchen, separate utility room and toilet. The dining room and living room has plenty of seating to accommodate everyone in the group.     These three properties are set on a working arable farm, which was a finalist in the ’Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards’ 2018.

    All lovingly converted to a very good standard and each maintains many of there original features, including beams, tiled and wooden floors. The Old Stable (ref UK31779) has been expertly restored from stable sides which feature in the open plan living area. This area also has a series of small handmade stained-glass windows set high up on the back wall, which throw light onto the first-floor corridor. They are a delight and depict a story of a working horse and her foal, so in keeping with this fabulous holiday home. On the first floor are four of the five en-suite bedrooms offering a mixture of twin and kingsize accommodation. The house bathroom is an absolute delight with a free-standing roll-top bath, tiled floors and Velux windows. The Old Barn (ref UKC998) has two bedrooms on the ground floor along with the family bathroom, and the third bedroom on the first floor. The Cart Shed (ref UKC999) has the open plan living space on the first floor and all three bedrooms are on the ground floor, all three have their own TV. All three properties have underfloor heating throughout the ground floor which provides a cosy feel.

    There are great walks round the farm, as well as along the riverbank and throughout the area. This location is also popular with cyclists, so be sure to bring your bikes and enjoy this delightful setting in style. Beverley is only 2½ miles away and is well known for its racecourse, minster, many boutiques and coffee shops. The coast at Hornsea can be reached within 10 miles, where visitors will find many of its traditional amusements and its promenade. To amuse your children, why not spend a day exploring the wildlife centre at Hornsea Mere?

    York is a great place for a day out and is about an hour’s drive away. The Deep at Hull is one of the UK’s biggest aquariums and is well worth a visit and is about half an hour away.

    Explore the many miles of walking and cycling opportunities the Yorkshire Wolds provides. A visit to this area would not be complete without taking in the wildlife spectacle of RSPB Bempton Cliffs. The thriving seaside town of Bridlington with its award-winning beach is just 7 miles away and the stately homes of Burton Agnes, Sledmere House and Gardens and Sewerby House and Gardens are all within a short drive.
