Dragonfly Cottage is an end terrace property, within a few minutes walk of the centre of Beverley. Dating back to the 17th century and belonging to the church of St Mary, this lovely little cottage was once home to the local monks. This property is ideal for couples or friends wishing to enjoy this vibrant market town. The property promises a memorable stay with comfort throughout. The living room with its open fire and a comfortable sofa, will be the ideal place to sit and relax after a day of exploring. The large dining area flows into a galley style kitchen with a unique feature wooden wall. The modern kitchen provides all the appliances you could wish for and is a great space to cook either a hearty breakfast or a romantic evening meal. From the dining area are the stairs leading up to the first floor.
Do take a moment to check out the view of the Minster from the landing window. Here you will find two well-presented bedrooms offering both twin and kingsize double accommodation. To the north of the property lies Filey and Scarborough, both very popular seaside resorts with excellent beaches as well as plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Both Scarborough and Bridlington have leisure complexes with pools and slides, and plus there’s the ever popular Sea Life centre on Scarborough seafront. Take a walk along the seafront or follow the cliff top walk to Sewerby Hall, a beautiful Georgian mansion open to the public. The gardens are well worth a visit and there is even a small zoo for the children to explore. Bridlington golf course is just a short stroll from the apartment, an excellent 18-hole golf course first played on in 1907. Situated on the very popular Bridlington Links golf course site, Yorkshire Rose is a very spacious, detached log cabin on a beautiful park with woodland walks and picturesque surroundings. The club house is just a short stroll from the lodge where there is a popular restaurant and bar which can be used by non-members and there is also a gym available (payable at the office). The bar area leads out onto a veranda with stunning sea views where you can sit and enjoy a meal or drink. The 18-hole golf course is next to the site and guests staying at the lodge will enjoy a 25% discount.
Sewerby Hall is accessed via a path from the lodges. This stunning, Georgian mansion has award winning gardens and a zoo for the children to visit. With over 50 acres of parkland there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic along the clifftop, or catch the land train that runs between the hall and Bridlington.
Bridlington, boasting a wonderful sandy beach, is a traditional seaside resort for families, yet is still a very busy working harbour. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and the Bridlington Spa Theatre is very popular with international acts and shows.
To the north of the links you can walk to Danes Dyke Nature Reserve where there are some wonderful nature and wildlife walks. It is a great, dog-friendly place to take the children and wander amongst the wooded areas down to the shoreline. Paths from here lead to Flamborough Head, originally a small fishing village with spectacular white chalk cliffs and rugged clifftop pathways.
The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just a short drive away and here you can see the thousands of migrating seabirds especially the puffins. Scarborough and Whitby are further up the coast, both very popular holiday destinations. Beach 400 yards. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.

An interesting day out can be spent at Burton Constable Hall, a magnificent Elizabethan mansion with Capability Brown landscaped parkland and historic stables. Hull, 12 miles, is the home city of poet Philip Larkin and birthplace of William Wilberforce. Places of interest here include The Deep, a huge sealife aquarium, the Ferens Art Gallery, the Maritime Museum and Hull Truck Theatre. Bridlington can be reached in 45 minutes, with the impressive Sewerby Hall and Gardens found just a little further on, and the charming market town of Beverley is a 30-minute drive, where you can visit the beautiful minster, stroll along the cobbled streets lined with interesting shops, or enjoy the pavement cafés and fine dining restaurants. Filey is within an hour’s drive, and inland lies the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds which inspired the famous David Hockney paintings. Beach 3 miles. Thwaite Cottage has lots to offer bird lovers due to its proximity to the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, including RSPB Bempton, Spurn Point and the North Cave Wetlands. For golf enthusiasts there are numerous courses within a few miles, and there is fishing nearby as well. The stately homes of Burton Agnes, Burton Constable, Sewerby Hall and Castle Howard are also worth a visit, with many of them offering a program of events throughout the year from Proms Spectaculars to Christmas extravaganzas.
