Burton Agnes and Sledmere are also worth a visit and for those who would like a trip out; you have the fantastic medieval city of York, which is just over an hour away. There are many stately homes to visit in the area, including Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and Castle Howard. Hull, the City of Culture 2017, and the medieval city of York can be reached within an hour by both car or train. The market towns of Beverley, Driffield and Pocklington, with their charming independent shops and cafes, are well worth a visit.
